THIS CAKE WAS FOR MY DAUGHTERS BRIDAL SHOWER. MARCH 19TH ORDERED A 15" SQUARE CAKE FROM POLITO BAKERY. THE ORDER READ- ONE LAYER FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND BANANAS, THE OTHER LAYER CHOCOLATE PUDDING- REAL WHIPPED CREAM. WRITING AND FLOWERS IN DARK PURPLE. I PAID IN FULL AND SAID I WOULD PICK UP THE CAKE ON MARCH 29TH,2008 AT 10:30 IN THE MORNING. PRETTY SIMPLE ORDER - RIGHT ? WELL, APPARENTLY IT WAS TOO HARD TO FOLLOW. I GET TO THE BAKERY ON MARCH 29TH AT 10:30 AM- GUESS WHAT, THE CAKE IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. THEY NEVER MADE IT. SO NOW, I HAVE TO BE AT THE RESTAURANT TO DECORATE AND THEY TELL ME COME BACK IN A HOUR. SO I CALL ONE OF MY GUESTS AND ASK HER TO PLEASE STOP BY AND PICK UP THE CAKE ON THE WAY TO THE SHOWER. SO SHE COMES IN WITH THE CAKE, IN BLUE FLOWERS WITH RED CROOKED WRITING, WHICH LOOKED LIKE A CHILD WROTE IT. IT WAS SUCH A MESS. SO NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO USE IT. I AM NOT GOING TO LEAVE MY DAUGHTERS PARTY TO RETURN IT. IT WAS $65.00 ! SO THE TIME COMES AND THEY CUT THE CAKE, GUESS WHAT? THEY SLOPPED TOGETHER THE FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND BANANAS WITH THE CHOCOLATE PUDDING. YES, ALL MIXED UP TOGETHER. IT WAS REALLY GROSS AND DISGUSTING, EVEN TO LOOK AT. I TOOK PICTURES AND WENT BACK AND SPOKE TO PETER THE OWNER & THE BAKER WHO MADE IT.THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW NASTY, RUDE & ARROGANT THEY ARE.NOT LETTING ME GET A WORD IN AND JUST SO ARROGANT, IF I WAS A GUY, I WOULD HAVE PUNCHED THEM BOTH IN THE FACE. I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW THEY TREAT CUSTOMERS, WHO HAVE DONE BUSINESS THERE FOR MANY MANY YEARS ALONG WITH THERE FAMILIES, EVEN WHEN IT WAS MONDELLOS BAKERY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT. YOU DO NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. SHAME ON POLITO BAKERY IN NEW HYDE PARK, NY. YOU ARE REAL DISGUSTING PEOPLE!

The cookies, pastries and cakes are great. But like most bakeries the service is horrible. I went in at 8:15 in the morning and had one lady in front of me ordering 20 different items. After waiting 15 minutes, I walked out.Only one person behind the counter to help and no one from the back came out to offer assistance.

Conveniently located next to the rink where my sons hockey team plays. Ive only ever purchase coffee here. Although when ever I get out of my car I can smell all their pasties...which everybody tells me is great. The coffee is decent, nothing to rave about.

I LOVE this Bakery !!!! Everything they make is fantastic and I have never had a problem with anything I had odered there. You must try their italian bread !!!! It has that real crust that only the best italian bread has.....it is the best best best !!!!!!

Nothing terribly fancy. We come here to get last minute pastries and cookies as gifts. Their bread look really good and it looks like they bake everything in premises. Definitely more on the traditional side.

Cookies we got for Christmas eve were hard as a brick...how can you sell that to customers and charge those prices...disgusting ...lost my business for good

The best bakery on Long Island. The cannolis are incredible and Ive been more than happy with everything Ive tried here. Definitely recommend.
