This is a restaurant I have frequented, on and off, for the last 10 years of so and often had to wait to be seated due to the crowds. Its been a while since I have been there and decided to visit last Saturday. As we walked in the door, the hostess was chatting with another employee and proceeded to ignore us for a few minutes. Then after confirming that it was for the 2 of us, she walked away to the dining area without giving us any directions. We thought she was checking the availabilty of seating. We were politely directed by an employee and the manager to follow the hostess. We were seated on a hibachi table. A few minutes later we were moved to another table (as it was warmer or something) They took my wifes lemonade order and returned with red wine as they didnt have lemonade !! We were amused that they charged us for a doggy bag :) The number of empty tables on a saturday evening, leads me to believe either the management is going to change or the location might be taken over by some franchise. Ample parking close to a few busy highways. The hibachi chef was ok and I have no complains about the food. But the service sucked. Doubt if we would return.

The food is wonderful, but the service is terrible. I had my family come in from the city tonight to celebrate birthdays, and after we were served our initial drinks, our waitress didn t check on us once, even though the nice couple across from us were attended to multiple times. And then when I got up and asked another server if she could find our waitress, she rudely said I don t know who your waitress is but it s not me and I can t help you . I don t know if it was because gratuity is included over parties of 4, but we usually tip more if the service is good, and in this case, I wanted to ask the manager to remove the gratuity, but he was no where to be found when we looked for him. For a bill that was over $300, the service should have been much better.

I liked sushi here! One of the best sushi places around Wayne. Ive seen so many sushi imitations in Wayne. If you know about sushi, this is place to go. But, unfortunately they have only basic things only such as tuna, salmon, yellowtail, seaweed, and etc. One cannot expect sea urchin or Japanese mint that you can have in a real Japanese Sushi place. But, you know what? It is a good way to keep the price low Hibachi section? Im so sorry, but I will not try it again. I requested my steak medium-rare and he cooked it medium-well. He insisted that it was medium rare and got upset. Manager came to me and told me that he could change only once as if I made a mistake. I think they have a new manager now. I did not see him last time I went there.

This restaurant is known for being a Hibachi Steakhouse but their sushi is by far the best in the area. Always fresh, NEVER fishy and big portions. (BETTER THAN SUSHI LOUNGE!) Prices are also the best as far as sushi goes. They have a half-price sushi 7 days a week. Try their shrimp tempura rolls, spicy tuna rolls, dragon roll and their house salad with ginger dressing. They also offer some riceless rolls for those watching their carb intake. The host and wait staff are always so courteous and attentive and super friendly. Sushi Lovers - you will not be disappointed!

Oh where do I start. Hygiene: you first walk in and the place smells like it wasnt mopped for years, or it was mopped with a mop that wasnt washed for years. Afood: my soup wasnt hot to the pount where i could stick my finger freely without feeling heat. Our cook burnt our food and was noot friendly at all. Equipment: The vent was not working properly so all the food smell ended up sticking on my clothes and hair for hours. Overall; All my friends that were there with me said it wasnt a pleasant experience.

The best Hibachi restaurant in the Tri-State Area hands down. Been going here frequently for years. Food is always consistent and very good. Sushi is the BEST here. Service is excellent too. Amy, Andy, and Betty are great and will take care of you. Portions are filling, prices are very reasonable, and food is top notch. If youre sick of paying top dollar for mediocre Hibachi and sushi (there are quite a few nearby but wont mention names) then Izumi should be your only go-to for Hibachi. Truly a gem!

My family has had such a great experience at Izumi. The staff is very friendly, the cooks are fun and love kids, and the atmosphere is exactly what you expect from a Japanese Steak House. We always take food home with us because they give you so much to eat. The Hibachi is always clean and there is never an oily smell on your clothes when you leave, which quite frankly other high end places we have been at cause our clothes to wreak of oil. I think this is a well managed restaurant that needs your support.

We ate there this past Saturday. 4-5 stars for the hibachi dinners, which are always good, but 1 star for the management. We arrived on time for our 6:30PM reservation and was told it would be another 15 minutes. We were finally seated at 7:15PM and after some 6:30 walk-ins no less! At least one other 6:30PM party had the same experience as we did. Not a word of apology from anyone. Sogo in Denville, by comparison, has never kept us waiting more than a few minutes, even when it has been packed.

First of all : BEST HOSTS EVER!!! Where do the hosts always remember your name and greet you with open arms (literally hugs) and kisses!?? The hibachi is great, and prices are great...I come here a few times a week for sushi -- which is ALWAYS 50% off. They even give me water or drinks while I wait for my takeout order...yes it is mostly locals and I live at the apartments right across the street so its convenient...if youre in the wayne-little falls-lincoln park-totowa area its a must try!!

[Update: I had diarrhea right after eating the food there and my dad had stomachache. So probably due to bad food] This place is more about entertainment from the act of cooking than quality food. Meats are still good but vegetables are not - they are very salty and no other taste.due to the

This place has gone down hill. The food was decent, but our service was pretty horrible. We sat at a normal table and my wifes hibachi dinner came, no exaggeration, at least 20-30 minutes before my sushi . . . even my appetizer. We also couldnt get a drink after our 1st round.

Great place!! Best Hibachi dinner around and Ive been to them all. Prices are competitive and food is awesome! The place can get crowded so make a reservation a head of time. Only issue is that the place has bad cell reception, so getting a call during dinner is tough.

I got here every year for my birthday. It has the best prices for the most food! You can get a dinner combo that includes soup, salad, and a dessert! The food here is also much better than other hibachi restaurants I have visited. Also, great service!
