This is a very rare buffet restaurant. They have sushi, sashimi, Japanese, Chinese, Ramen, Crapes, assorted deserts and soft serve ice cream. If you like seafood even a little as well as Japanese and Chinese food youll definitely enjoy yourself here. In my experience I tend to chow down on the sushi and sashimi first, then pick and choose from the Japanese / Chinese hot foods. In moderation I have not been disappointed from anything Ive eaten from here, with that said. There was one time where I spent about the entire lunch time eating plate after plate of sushi, lest it need be said that the days after I had a vicious stomach ache. I have been back since and that was the only rare occurrence where something like that ever happened. I will say that it pays to get there when they first open. The longer theyre open the more the stars and quality of the food drops. You can always request fresh sushi but be serious. Were not here to talk were here to eat. PRICES & HOURS: My favorite part about this place is the price for lunch: Monday - Friday $17.95 (excluding Holidays) Saturday, Sunday $20.95 that lunch special is well worth the bang you get for your buck. The dinner prices are about $13 more. The hours for Minado are somewhat strange but when you consider the prep work, it makes sense. Theyre open for lunch M-F 12pm - 230pm / S,S 12pm - 3pm. Theyre open for dinner M-Th 6pm - 930pm / F 6pm - 10pm / S 530pm - 10pm / S 5pm - 9pm. See you there.

I work out of one of our offices which is only a couple of miles away from here quite often. This is my go-to restaurant in the Rutherford area. Great selection, fresh food, very attentive service. I have never been disappointed here. They do lose one star because I am a big spicy tuna fan, and a spicy tuna offering here is simply tuna and spicy mayo - very uninspiring. Also, I really wish the Sashimi was cut into bigger pieces. I understand that they want to minimize waste, but I find it annoying to have to eat two pieces of Sashimi at the same time in order to experience the right bite. This is a regular place for me, and I look forward to each and every meal here. Highly recommend.

Im skeptical whenever I hear about an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant however I was pleasantly surprised by Minado. First, the décor is pretty basic which I expected and its located off of a major highway. The staff is friendly and quick - which is great when you need your plates cleared for your next round. The sushi and sashimi selection were extensive and all tasted pretty good. So many options and fresh - didnt get one old sushi piece. The hot food bar was also diverse with great seafood and meat options. The spicy shrimp was delicious as were the crab legs. Would I come back here again? Yes.

This is my all time favorite buffet place to go to! Although the price to eat for dinner is a little expensive, the food is too delicious to pass up! There are also so many types of foods to try from clams, lobster, shrimp, soups, and more this Japanese seafood buffet will not disappoint. All the foods are a delicacy and I love eating here. The green tea cake is my favorite because every bite tastes like you are eating a light cloud with a delicious cream in the middle of the cake. The main attraction is the food, there arent any extravagant decor because the food speaks for itself.

Great food, good service, one of the best sushi buffets in the area. EDIT: The more I come (or perhaps my tastes are changing?) the more I feel the quality of the food is deteriorating. The soup section had an off-putting odd "artificial tap" taste, as if they threw flavoring in water, the oysters felt tasteless, and some of the food seemed undercooked. The sushi/sashimi section though, seemed to be the only section that seemed relatively stable in terms of quality.

Ok buffet place. Decent selection. Ive seen places with more variety. Most dishes were flavorful some were bland, the fish mainly. Some of the dessert were kind of rubbery like the tiramisu and cream puff. The sushi was decent as well. Table service was a bit lacking. Table wasnt cleared for most of the meal and no towelettes. For the price paid it would have been better to go to a regular sushi, seafood place.

The buffet (which is all there is) is about $30 a person, a little on the high side for a buffet but you really do get your moneys worth with the variety. From sushi to sashimi, from crab legs to desserts and of course the green tea ice cream. I only give 4 stars for the appearance of the place, it could use some sprucing up for that amount per person, it has a feel of a cheap buffet but the food is anything but.

Started off horribly, hostess decided she wanted to charge my niece as an adult on her 12th birthday. We didnt mind except that she acted like we were cheating her and their price clearly stated 12 or younger not under 12. Next they took us to a table missing a chair so we had to get our own. Food was ok but what a terrible way to start off the poor girls birthday celebration by exposing her to such crassness.

I love this place! But Ive only ever been here during dinner time where the price is a ridiculous amount. However, I came here with a friend the other day and to my surprise, the same menu (or at least I thought it was) was posted with a cheaper price! Unbelievable! It was amazing. I loved the variety of sushi choices, the healthy salads, and the savory treats. Love Love Love

This place is magnificent! The decor is appealing, the staff friendly and the buffet exceptional. Everything from the fries tempura, to the short ribs to the sushi were superb. Tasty tender meats, perfectly crispy fried seafood/vegetables & fresh raw fish. It is most definitely worth the $34.00 per person cost. My wife and I will absolutely come back and try more food.

This place has plentiful of sushi, sashimi, soup, oysters, crab legs, prawns, caviar, veggies, hot foods such as steak, huge ribs, fresh fruits, variety of cake deserts, ice cream, imported/domestic beer, and plum wine. All that for under $32/person during dinner. Everything is cooked well and the taste is comparable to high end Japanese restaurants.

Absolutely Mouthwatering! We were introduced to Minado by mutual friends and we had the time of our lives. This a not a typical "Buffet" style restaurant. The selection is outrageous and the food is prepared fresh. The staff is very accommodating and very friendly. What you get for your money is well worth every serving!

The place was really nice and the food was very well placed. Some of the meet was too chewy for me. I literally had to pull with my hands to bite of the beef strip. But the sushi and other stuff was pretty good. The soup was also really good considering that i usually dont like soup.

We have been eating here for over 8 years. If you like sushi they have a great selection. Their roles are top notch! I normally start out with a large plate of sushi and finish with some of the salads and hot entrees. If you are looking for a 5 star buffet this is the place to go.
