I was very fortunate to grow up with my 80 year old italian grandmother constantly cooking and my grandfather, a professional baker, baking fresh bread. In addition I was pretty close to Arthur Ave in the bronx so I have a very acute taste for italian food. It doesnt get much better than Sergios. The aroma that smacks your senses upon walking into the store sends me into sensory overload, constantly bringing me back to my childhood with pleasant thoughts of fresh foccacia, breaded artichoke, assorted breads, olives, you name it. I would highly recommend Sergios. People below mention the long wait, Ive found in life the best things are worth waiting for, not to mention I think that says something about this establishment that theres always a line.

I nearly went into shock when Sergios suffered damage during the big flood in town. It was closed for months and I was worried we would lose this remarkable eatery. Happily, they reopened and they are better than ever. We love their sandwiches and house-made salads. I try to get a chunk of Sullivan Street bread too with any order that has sauce - best Italian bread this side of the Atlantic. Sergio is the soul or the place and generously has educated me on balsamic vinegar and EVO. He gives me tastes and a few samples to take home! Friendly service (but take a number when you enter - it can be slow). Outstanding Italian food and specialties. Inventive sandwiches. Yummy specials. Smart management. Highly recommended.

For years, I have heard nothing but rave reviews about Sergios and now I know why! Sergio and his kitchen staff were able to prepare a delicious menu for my most recent family party. Sergio carefully reviewed the menu with me and gave awesome suggestions that would please my guests. Sergios is a great establishment, with superb customer service. I highly recommend the penne vodka and shrimp francese...cooked to perfection! I will certainly use Sergios again for my next catering event, but Im bound to be there even sooner for one of their delicious sandwiches. Nothing but praise for Sergio & Co.!

Good: Food is good to excellent (most times). There have been a couple of bad days.. Bad: The owner (Sergio) seems to get offended if you dont patronize his store on a weekly basis. He goes from being extremely friendly (providing free bottle of wine and brochures from his vacation) to pretending he does not know you.. Other: The older, dark brown haired lady (with the truck driver face and matching beer belly), working the counter, has got to go. She has an extremely smug (borderline rude) attitude. She seems to get it from Sergio..

I was visiting my Mom (Im from N.H.,)and she and I had lunch here for the first time on 10/13/15. We each had a sandwich, and we agreed they were the MOST DELICIOUS deli sandwiches we had EVER eaten! (We had #s 3, and 5.) We also shared a yummy porcini rice ball! We sat at a cozy little window table, and marveled at the flood of customers who just kept coming and going! Evidently, Sergios is a VERY POPULAR deli! Next time I visit my Mom, Im going to make sure my visit includes a trip to Sergios!

This place is absolutely out of this world! Every time I go there I get the number 7 on the menu and its awesome every time! Its so unbelievably fresh and made extremely well. The only gripe I have about this place is sometimes the staff will completely ignore you instead of just acknowledging you and saying "Well be with you in a moment." Simple phrases like that let me know that they know Im standing there. Otherwise, when they do help you, they are extremely courteous, kind, and helpful!

When you walk in you encounter an amazing selection of Italian olive oils, cookies, and canned goods as well as display cases full of fresh made soups, tiramisu, artichokes, stuffed mushrooms and other good stuff. My friend and I were kinda mesmerized by the food, and didnt notice that you need to take a number like at any deli. Luckily they saw when we came in and let us order in the order we came in. Great service too. Ill be heading back next time Im in town.

Wow! Sergios has to be the best deli I have ever tried! Their fresh mozzarella is out of this world. Their sandwiches are enormous and they have a large selection of bread to choose from. I love the #7 sandwich; breaded chicken breast with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and any topping you want. Sergio and his family are so nice and make every effort to make the perfect sandwich and to keep their customers happy. A Denville gem. I highly recommend!!!!

I cant say enough about this establishment! The crew is awesome! The food is absolutely delicious! We stopped there to just grab a sandwich on our way through town. As we were leaving the women that helped us followed to give me son an Italian Milk Chocolate Egg! I was so taken by this gesture! Those things are expensive and they are giving them out to show their clients they are appreciated! Thats a BIG DEAL to me! 5 stars all the way!

The best Italian deli Ive found anywhere in NJ and thats saying a lot. They have a huge selection of in-house prepared foods. Their deli sandwiches are amazing and they use their own freshly baked bread and mozzarella. They also carry many made in Italy specialties as well as their own store packaged sauces and freshly made pastas. Sergios is a treasure!

Fantastic Italian deli, with fresh bread, homemade mozzarella and a variety of great cheeses and antipasto. Love the specialty sandwiches, especially #7. They also have homemade pasta, ravioli and sauces for an easy meal to take home. If you dont want to wait there are plenty of mediocre delis to choose from in NJ. This one is special.

I have been here about 3 times now, ordering 3 different things and have been impressed. Its one of those places where you find something so great, then try something else from the menu and have a new favorite. Right now I am hooked on the Chicken Parm Hero. Everyone is super nice here too.

Theres nothing negative that I could possibly have to say about Sergios... from the food and catering to the staff and Sergio himself... they are ALL TOP NOTCH! The only only difficulty is finding parking at lunchtime... However, once you have your plate in front of you, it is all worth it!!

Weve been going to Sergios since he opened in 1999. I recommend the food to anyone I can. To top it off, Sergio is a wonderful person, very humble and creative and just downright nice. You are missing out if you havent tried Sergios. What are you waiting for? Get going!! Tom

Sergio himself is the most genuine kind caring man and all of that is represented in his store front. Sandwich #1 on tomato focaccia is a must try. Despite any possible wait time, they provide each person undivided attention and ensure you are 100% satisfied.
