This is a wonderful local bakery that contains delicious bread and pastries. The inside of the bakery is VERY clean, modern, and airy looking, something I like to see in a place selling food. Also, because they allow you to see what goes on in the baking area, you can see how they make their bread and what that area look like. The baking area is always clean looking and the workers do a very good job and keeping the place clean. This I feel is something key in any successful food business, being transparent about how you make your food and keeping the place clean. I love their bread, and since you can call in to get a loaf baked just for you, you dont have to worry about freshness. All things sold that day are baked that morning so nothing is old and moldy looking. Whenever Ive bought a pastry from them its delicious and well worth the price to support a local bakery. Its not often that you find a good local bakery in Kalamazoo that constantly bakes quality bread. The people working there are super friendly and theres a nice seating area if you want to have breakfast. Although they dont specialize in coffee, they do offer good coffee for the morning also. A wonderful local bakery thats well worth supporting.

Since original opening, a compulsion for my family. Two sons raised to adulthood on bread and treats (buttercream filled doughnuts). My Dad claimed this was the closest to bread as he grew up with in Massachusetts; used to get several fresh loaves of dark rye and fly back to Boston with the warm bread in the cabin (huge bummer for other passengers!); even took some to his bakery owner friend, claiming ,"Now this is how bread should be". And so it remains true for us lucky few in Kalamazoo...THIS IS HOW BREAD SHOULD BE!

Since Sarkozys opened, it has been the premier European style bakery in SW Michigan. Sadly, I dont live in Kalamazoo any longer, so I drive an hour to get my breads and treats. It is worth every minute of the drive. Baguettes that will transport you to France, Biscotti that are not the tooth breaking things we Americans are used to. Everything will delight you. Enjoy!

This bakery is amazing. When you walk through the door you are overwhelmed with delicious smelling breads and goodies. While having a meal, Judy Sarkozy walked by and offered us a slice of pizza that she had been working on for an upcoming menu item. She was very nice, and we got to give her feed back on her food.

Love the new location and so happy they are open again. The seating area is comfortable and staff is always friendly. The pastries are great, but my favorite is the oatmeal bread - great memories from childhood of my mom bringing this home from time to time. A Kalamazoo staple

Closest thing Kalamazoo has to a European bakery and it would be pretty good even in a much larger city. Great staff and great pastries and breads.
