Normally, this restaurant is a really inexpensive and quick service place to eat. However, today, the restaurant was quite busy. Upon arrival we were told that it would be about a 30 minute wait. We sat outside the restaurant, waiting for a table, until we noticed that groups of people were showing up and being seated while we were still waiting. We waited for an hour and a half before seating ourselves at a table outside. We were promptly brought chips and salsa, however the waiter didnt show up to the table for another half an hour. We were given menus and our drink order was taken, and 20 minutes later the waiter returned to take our order. 2 hours. Thats how long it took to get our food after ordering. Several times we would have to send one of our dining members in to get an update on the food, as the waiter didnt return to our table unless we went inside and asked for him. It started to rain heavily when we were sitting outside waiting for our food, and the restaurant staff made no effort to sit us or any other customers that were dining outside, inside the restaurant. We eventually picked up our table and moved it down the building under the small awning that was there. The wait staff was rude, the management didnt show face, and our bill at the end of the night was full price, despite the 4 hour wait. Will not return ever again.

Terrible. If you know what good Mexican food tastes like dont go here. The meat was fatty and boiled. They dont make their tortillas. They dont make their pico and dont even have fresh cilantro on hand. You cannot be "authentic" Mexican restaurant and not have cilantro. Thats a basic ingredient. The jalapeño peppers were pickled from a can or jar. The mole sauce tasted like it was from a can. They even put sliced processed cheese (the kind that wont melt) on top of the beans. Basically the quality you could expect from a Mexican frozen dinner.

This is really good Mexican food and I highly recommend the California Burrito or Carnitas Dinner. The salsa for the chips and salsa was also very good (maybe not that spicy, but high quality). It is inexpensive for what you are getting and they charge decent prices for beer. I gave them 5 stars because in this area, they are one of the best places to eat (regardless of restaurant type). It was very refreshing to find another place in Prince Frederick with decent food.

Food is sub par. Nothing special about their menu, very bland. Its edible at least. No kids crayons/colouring menu. Very slow service. Not attentive enough. Food is very slow to come out even when its not busy. Place needs updating, menu needs to be redone by a REAL chef. Items are overpriced as well. Wont go back

I love La Tolteca! This is an awesome restaurant, the food is awesome, the staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable! We go there so often that the staff is like our family. If you would like a real Mexican food for a reasonable prices this is the place!

While more familiar with their La Plata location, this place delivered the food fast and with great flavor. Lunch special is a reasonable amount of food. Something with rice and beans would be a good bet. Look for the shredded beef out chicken options.

I didnt even know this place was there for a very long time; its kind of tucked away. Glad I found it though-stopped in a for a quick lunch on a time crunch. Food was good and came out quickly, and the service was prompt and friendly.

Not that great. Fly was in my first cheese dip. Moments later another fly was in my new cheese dip. I told them and they didnt take it off my bill. Worst place ever!
