My wife and I moved to the area 5 years ago, and one of the first places we were told about was Dairy Dream. It is the place to get ice cream. Weve been there three times, and we just dont get it. We would describe the ice-cream as thin and bland. I jokingly say that it doesnt matter which falvor you order because it is all going to taste like coconut. We say its thin because even on a mildly warm day the ice cream melts way too fast. You get large portions, but you wont be able to keep up with the pace in which it melts. Its a given ice cream will melt in warm weather, but dear god this is on another level. And this sucks because we really want to like the place. Its an old drive up building, and while its run down, its its age and location that gives it the appeal it has. Being located right off a bicycle path is another bonus. But in the end it comes down to the ice cream. It just isnt good. Luckily we found Gregs Frozen Custard in Mundelein. Much better. See my review there for more details.

im not sure what the hype is about. i just moved to the area and heard awesome reviews on this place. maybe it was the night i went or whatever but the staff was very snobby and the icecream while not bad but very blah .. ive had better flavor from out of a box. maybe i ordered the one wrong thing on the menu ? average at best and i really wanted to find a good mom and pa place. i guess the search continues

The Dairy Dream is a gem in Libertyville. On late work nights, my husband and I swing by for a hotdog, french fries (YUM!!!) and pint of soft serve to go. I ordered the confetti ice cream cake last summer and it was the hit of the party, people were still talking about it a year later! Its good to see a family owned business thriving in town and providing good jobs for the local kids.

I havent been here for several years but they have the best milkshakes. The other ice cream and food is good too. I especially enjoyed the blue raspberry milkshakes the owner Justin who is a really nice guy used to make for me! I live in beautiful Provo UTAH now but if I come back to visit this way I will stop in! Thanks, from Dion.

Dairy Dream has the best mushroom Swiss burger Ive ever had. They bring in cheese from Wisconsin and its amazing. The only problem with the ice cream treats is that there are so many choices and every one is delicious! Highly recommended for really nice service and great food at reasonable prices.

So many flavors & all are great! Try the pistachio or the coconut! Good solid lunch food including burgers, hot dogs fries etc. My favorites include cheese curds, cheese fries & if hungry enough I go with one of the mega combo meals. Expect long lines on hot Summer days. Its worth the wait!

Wow, really interesting ice cream flavors! 28 flavors including lemon, coconut, raspberry as well as the usual flavors. Also they have dips in different flavors such as raspberry, cotton candy and peanut butter. I had a chocolate cone with peanut butter dip. It was outstanding!

Love coming here in the summer. Always seems to be packed on the nights I come, which is good. Their turtle sundae and the peanut butter sundaes are so good. The cake batter is too!
