This was our first time to visit The Frontier restaurant. The host was very friendly and immediately showed us to our seats. We were waited on promptly by a very nice young waitress. The fresh made bread was brought to our table promptly (very good) and the waitress took our order but let us know up front they were out of shrimp. I ordered the hamburger steak which was very good and my wife ordered the special of the day (1/4 baked chicken). The waitress soon returned telling us they were out of the baked chicken also. It was close to 230 on Sunday afternoon and they close at 3pm. My wife then ordered the seasoned grilled chicken breast as her third choice. Given the time of day we forgave them for being out of certain things. Up to this point we were still pleased we had driven 30 miles to eat here. Our semi-positive experience changed when the chicken my wife ordered was too tuff and chewy. Letting the waitress know this the response was unexpected. "Im sorry you dont like it" she said, and left the table. She came back in two minutes asking if we would like a carry out carton. My wife had not eaten but one small bite of her chicken and shared one small bite with me to see if I agreed with her assessment. Indeed it was tough, chewy and lacking flavor, basically inedible. We were charged the full bill even after advising the hostess that the chicken was not good. She replied that "he has really good shrimp" and we ought to come back and try that. Im afraid everyone missed the point. For $8.95 they were willing to lose a customer and risk unfavorable reviews to our friends. Truly a shame as the restaurant is very quaint.

I worked @frontier and loved it ...my child was born while working here Our food was great and service amazing !!!! But for mothers day when my child was 10 my family took me to eat there ...the restaurant was not full yet we waited for 1hr then the hostess sat someone she knew that had just walked in before us ... after being seated I asked our server how long and explained what had happened I ask her to go ask the owner ... instead of my server coming back the hostess did she was very rude and informed me that she was the manager ...I then reply with I ask my server to ask the owner ...she continued to say yes but I am the manager .. I was so mad I gathered my family I went to the back and told the owner how I felt about his hostess which by the way isnt his wife anymore I love her ....I guess I would call the replacement UGLY BETTY ....because well its true!!! Kinda glad didnt eat a friend ate there he took a bite of salad it felt strange so he spit it out it had chewed piece of gum in it when he got to the register the same lady said sorry about your salad but the steak was ok right!!! She took the salad off but change for the steak ....who could eat a steak after the salad being what it was ....this was not good, and I did call the owner to apologize for my action his reply was thanks for your concern!!!! No problem I have no plans to return nor do my unfortunate friends

I used to come here with my grandparents all the time about 20 years ago and it was wonderful, but now things have changed. The building is still nice and everything is clean, but the waitress was rather bitter and the food wasnt good at all. The salads were brown, my sisters salmon was way over done, about as chewy as jerky, I ordered my steak medium and it when it arrived it looked like they sat it on the grill for about 20 seconds per side and the inside was still cold. I sent it back and they returned with something that was burnt to a crisp and about like shoe leather in consistency. My mother said her cheese burger tasted good, but it was $9 and only about the size of a McDonalds McDouble. The lemonade had absolutely no sugar and the sweet tea had an acrid flavor about it that would remind you of cheap coffee. I know the old lady who owns the place and didnt ask for a refund because of that, but I wont be back unless I see a lot of new rave reviews. Its a crying shame. This place used to be a special treat to me and now I would have to say it is the worst dining experience I have ever had. It could all be fixed with a good cook and wait staff. I hope they do fix it soon.

I had not been there in years and decided to go. When we got there we questioned rather or not they were open. Got out and checked to see if they were opened and they were so we go in and there was only four other people there. We were told it would be 20 minutes for a table and I ask why and I was told they were short handed. Well we decided to wait and when we were finally seated it took another ten minutes to get service. Should have left but I was trying to give them benefit of doubt. When we finally was able to place our orders again it took way to long to get our food and we never got fresh rolls nor did the waitress come back for drink refills. So we left but not without telling the cashier of our experience she only said sorry. The food was cold and service was not good at all. I wont ever go back there and if they dont get it together they wont be in business long. I highly recommend the steak house instead. Good luck frontier house.

My purpose of this isnt in any way to ruin this business and more so in hopes for a change. Ive ate at this restaurant for well over 20 years and it use to be an amazing place to eat! There use to be a 30+ minute wait every time with the best prime rib and salmon and basically everything they served was great! However, over the last 2 or 3 years this place has changed so much. Same owner, same cook but the food has started tasting cheap and over cooked. And telling someone in charge is almost pointless being as they make you feel like you are just complaint and only tell you how nothing has changed. Idk whats going on but hopefully there will be a change for the better soon bc otherwise we definitely will not be back. We had 2 bad experiences a year ago and said we wouldnt be back. We tried again tonight and it was the same issues. Salmon was flavorless and over cooked and he prime rib was cheap and over cooked as well

I haven’t eaten there in a while, so I called in a pizza the outher day. I arrived for pick-up within 15 minutes for so and in wasn’t ready. Just as well, for all I had for payment was plastic. They don’t take plastic I was told, cash or check only. So, be sure you take cash or check…for I wasn’t going to town and look for an ATM then come back. I when to town and purchased a pizza at another location with my plasic.

This was a really good dinner. We got the ribeye and the prime rib dinner and both were very tender and tasty. Great homemade bread and neat atmosphere with a cool vintage car in the back on display. We will definitely be back for more!
