I was sitting at this place thinking about how many reviews I could write of this place just using four words. The drinks were okay. This isnt a "roll." A significant learning opportunity. Im sorry we came. This was a mistake We paid $75???? It didnt say, "cooked." Or, to quote my daughter, "That was a rip-off." I could come up with a lot more of them, but a four word review doesnt tell you anything. I get the whole thing about how youre paying for a beach view, and I factor that into my reviews. However, weve eaten in every restaurant for the two block of this area and this is the first time Ive been so completely disappointed. Yes, the drinks are a whopping 45 oz., but most of that is fruit juice. There is about enough alcohol for a 16 oz. drink. After watching some orders come out, we decided on two apps and a sushi roll, since the rolls were pretty substantial and the apps weve had along this stretch of beach have always been a decent serving. We went with the Thai calamari, the sesame crusted tuna and the "Over The Moon Roll," which was billed as "fancy salmon, crispy Japanese yam and chefs special sauce and marked as spicy. It didnt take long for the food to come out. First, there was a small serving (even for an appetizer) of calamari. Calamari is one of my favorites. This was not good. It was very inconsistent, with the majority of the pieces being tough, the coating was falling off in clumps and there was a pool of grease in the bottom of the dish. Next was the tuna. The six small slices were properly cut and nicely served but completely bland. At least they came with a side of soy sauce. Then there was the sushi "roll." First of all, it wasnt a roll. It was four small pieces, served nigiri style. The salmon was completely cooked through (the menu didnt mention that it was cooked at all) and served on about a teaspoon of rice. It was completely lacking any flavor. The service had started out well, right up until the food came, but then our waitress disappeared. After we ate our few bites of food, we waited for the check......and waited.....and waited. My daughter finally got up and went inside to find someone to track her down. We did get a 10% "discount" from a coupon, leaving us with $75 for about 15 small, bland bites of food and one drink. Nope, wont be going back.

I went to this restaurant because of Tim the sushi chef..Tim is one of the best sushi chefs in the South Florida area and know him since he was first starting out...from the previous Japanese Restaurant he worked at... So my first experience eating here was great...the sushi was by far some of the best I have ever had...it is right across from the Las Olas beach and the ambiance was great...the service was also very good and the waiter was very attentive...I did sit at the sushi bar so I could catch up with TIm...The next time I was there I had a very similar experience ...phenomenal...Tim as always impressed...and being a sushi junkie for over 35 years I know good from bad sushi...the Toro was some of the fattiest melt in your mouth Toro I have ever had and the Uni was also super fresh and very tasty... So with all of my raving about this restaurant why am I only giving it 3 stars? This is by far the most expensive sushi I have ever had without a thought...first time there my bill for myself was over $75 and my last time there was just under $100 before tip...I am one person and never ever spent that much on not that much sushi...They obviously are not going after the locals because they wouldnt come back because of the price and is more geared toward the tourists...there are just way too many good sushi restaurants in the Ft Lauderdale and surrounding area that is half the price of this place...but when you have review pages like this and YELP the prices arent going to hold up no matter how great the sushi is...Even though this place is right across from the beach the place wasnt packed and on a Saturday night it should have been...in my opinion if this place significantly reduced their prices this place would pack...as every other restaurant on the street was...Will I go back and eat there again...YES but I will stop and eat something before I go

If you love sushi just keep on walking! We ordered the spider roll and the dragon roll. NO FLAVOR, IT WAS TASTELESS!!!! The presentation was nice but the flavor was 0! I dont get it, the wok chard sprouts appetizer was really good but the rest was a waste. The menu has no price on the special offer 45oz. drinks. They try to sell you this 2 for 1 deal for $24. The drinks where actually ok. Our server Alex was nice till we got to the check. He noted that my CC had a chip and he couldnt get a tip added to the bill afterwards. I noted to him that they automatically added a 20% gratuity. He said that they divide every thing up and he only gets 9% so "If you dont think Im worth more than 9%....." he said. This was really tasteless! To put someone on the spot like that is just pathetic. I understand the automatic gratuity but if you dont like the way the restaurant divides it up, go work somewhere else bro!

Incredible Japanese Tapis on the beach! My 90 something mother likes to eat on the beach so we picked Tsukuro based on the location and classic looks of the restaurant. The server informed us it is Tapis and how it worked. I knew wed be in for sticker shock but decided to enjoy and ordered drinks. Best meal, most expensive too, that I have ever had on the FLL beach. The chefs and servers are professionals who treated us with respect and timeliness. If youve had coconut shrimp before I recommend these. They are not your garden variety, frozen at all. Truly exceptional. We also had a Scallop plate (5Star) , Wings(5Star) and what my wife describes as the best Pot Stickers ever. The only slight disappointment was the flavorless Satay. Overall I cannot recommend Tsukuro enough

Food was pretty good, I would definitely eat here again as I was very happy with the taste, but the services are a bit small when the price is taken into consideration. The outdoor seating is unique, right on the sidewalk, but its not for everybody. The service, however, was a little lack luster considering it was not at all busy when we were there. Another couple was seated while we waited for our food, and when no one ever came back to them to get their drink order they eventually just left. I was a little surprised to see a "service charge" automatically added to the bill. I found out later that was auto-gratuity, but Id already very stupidly paid an additional tip on top of the entire price (plus their "service charge") so be warned of that!

I was drawn to this particular restaurant because it looked like chic ocean front lounge. Once we ordered our drinks the server not only took forever but completely messed up on my drink. Once he brought me the correct drink (which was absolutely horrible) he proceeded to ask if we were just ordering drinks and vanished. I paid 50 bucks for 3 drinks and an order of edamame. I explained to another server our situation and then another random server came to our table ten minutes later and dropped off our check and walked away. I then had to walk to the 3rd random server with my card so I can get out of this place! Needless to say, I will not be going back. It now makes sense why there was no wait to be seated on a Saturday night.
