After another establishment closed, we reached out quickly to the newly reopened Spinning Wheel. As a Redding native, Id heard great reviews from friends and family, but as I am currently living in Philadelphia, I had to wait several weeks after booking the October rehearsal dinner to try it. I could not have been more impressed with both the food and the unbelievable service. My now husband and I enjoy at least one meal at the Spinning Wheel almost every time we visit my family. We mentioned to Chris, the owner that we have spoken with from the very beginning and see every time we go, how wonderful the portabello fries are, and how the bacon wrapped dates were completely out of this world at one of our visits. We could not have been more delighted to see them as a very thoughtful surprise appetizer at the rehearsal dinner!!! The space was absolutely perfect and the rehearsal dinner went beautifully. The meal was wonderful, well orchestrated, and received so many compliments! My mother-in-law convinced the waitress with the tray of portabello fries to stay close so she could enjoy a few extra... they are incredible! While the rehearsal dinner was a dream and so wonderful, it doesnt begin to cover how great the restaurant is. We just enjoyed a lovely brunch (which I had been dying to try) there and I cant wait to dig into another dinner there sometime soon. I couldnt recommend it enough, and the atmosphere is among the most pleasant of any restaurant Ive been to. Warm fires, great beer selection, incredible food, and friendly faces- well be seeing you there!

Large restaurant with a few separate rooms. We sat in the room with the fireplace near the kitchen.Good service.Place was very clean and well renovated.Nice bar area with a few tables.Bar was small with only about 8 stools.Prices were fair for the food and drinks. I had a hamburger which was just Ok.Not a big burger but it was filling.Menu choices were pretty good with a lot of different dishes. I would say the menu could use a little upgrade.Items on the menu were not suited to my taste..I would say the quality of food was close to excellent anyway. It was about a 30 min drive from my home so Im Not sure if I would chose this place as a destination. We met other people there this time..I would def go again if I was in the area.

Went to the Spinning Wheel Restaurant today for Mothers Day Brunch. The food was just okay, and the service was okay. My biggest problem was with the price. The website stated Sunday Brunch, $20.95 for adults and $12 for kids under 12 years old. There was no mention that the price would be different for Mothers Day, until the bill came. They charged $45.00 for adults and $25 for kids. I saw no sign, and it was not mentioned when the reservations were made or when we arrived. Tsk, tsk, definitely not good customer service. And definitely not worth the price.

Horrible. I was very excited when I heard that the restaurant had opened up again. I had read the statements of the two brothers who purchased the restaurant how important the traditions and the preservation of the buildings history is to them. What a load of crap. The restaurant remains the Spinning Wheel, I remember, in a name only. The food was horrible and overpriced, The old charm is gone. The restaurant took on an impersonal, "wedding hall" identity. I was very disappointed. Will never go there again.

SW is beautiful, spacious, and a great spot for a multigenerational celebration. We came here on a Saturday night with a party of 13. The servers were friendly, patient and accommodating. As an appetizer, we shared some pizzas with our drinks. Great pizza! Our entrees were all yummy and we shared several desserts. The waffle with maple ice cream was especially memorable. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and welcoming. If I lived in CT, Id be a regular. Ill be back!

I drive by every day and finally went -- so glad I did! I brought my 99-year-old mother and access was very easy. The staff was very kind and accommodating, and the sweet hostess took me on a tour. We thought the food was delicious -- a huge difference from my previous experience before the new ownership. My mother appreciated that the food was served hot! We cant wait to go back.

First of all. The atmosphere is very odd. You couldnt tell what type of restaurant it was going to be. Its like they wanted it to be a fancy place but failed. The service was extremely slow and the waitress was very dull. As for the food, it was okay. It was not bad, but it was not good. I really dont think I will go there again, if I am every in Redding again.

I grew up in Redding. The Spinning Wheel in was a staple of ours for special occasions. The ambiance of cozy New England was what brought us back over and over again. The new owners have ruined the flavor of its interior. Giving it a New York slick look so it has lost all its old world charm and flavor. Now it looks ordinary. No sadly I will not be back

I just love the food here. Its a relaxed and still elegant dining experience with a friendly vibe, good service and a lovely outdoor seating area too. I really love the bacon wrapped figs stuffed with goat cheese ! The steaks ate great, salad terrific... perfect neighborhood restaurant.

My family and I Love "The Wheel". Great place to take the family or just hang out with friends. Fun atmosphere in the bar and the family always enjoys a booth. Good selection on beer and spirits and the food is just as good. Nice job on the renovations see you at the wheel soon!

Theyve made a concerted effort to use humane meat sources. Bravo to that. Food has been a bit hit or miss, but enough hits that we usually dont hesitate. And when its a hit, it can even be worth a 10 minute drive. Good effort on beer too. Something for everyone on the menu.

My wife and I are big fans of the Spinning Wheel. We live close by and frequent it when we can. So far everything we have had off the menu is delicious. We also love the beer and wine selection. High quality establishment right in our backyard.

This is our favorite restaurant! Not only is the food amazing (try the fried portabello mushrooms) but the service is great! The owners are very friendly and accommodating. You will NOT be disappointed! Highly recommend.

The food is decent enough but was pretty shocked to overhear how the manager speaks with his employees. Very belittling and rude. Feel terrible for the people who work there.
