Worst Diner in CT. I made the poor choice of getting steak and eggs. The steak had the consistency of steak, but it tasted like water. Seriously.. it was awful. And this is coming from someone who LOVES steak. Sure you may say that its what I get for ordering steak at a diner, but Acropolis Diner over in Hamden has great steak and eggs. So does Twin Pines in East Haven/Branford. My friend got chocolate chip pancakes and he could not even finish one (out of three), and this guy loves chocolate chip pancakes. Also the waitress was rude, and apparently you cannot use more than one card to split the bill. The owner gave us an attitude about it so my one friend paid for much more than what he ordered via his debit card. Ill never come here again and I highly suggest you do not either. If you want a diner with quality food and staff, drive a few miles down the road to Acrop in Hamden.

The host Im assuming the owner mustve seen the look on my face and known I had a day from hell ..he slipped me a beer even though it was after their normal serve time of 11:00 p.m. Im a food snob (kinda) although Ill eat anything but i really appreciate a great meal when I get it. I travel all over east cost and honestly the chicken parm was better than 99% of the "fancy" restaurants Ive been too.. EXCELLENT service and a perfect meal that cured my terrible day.

Breaded pork chops were large but dry and flavorless. The quesadilla flavor wasnt bad but it was quite greasy. The "Hawiian Carrots" were literally sliced carrots cooked with canned mixed fruit in heavy syrup. Portions were on the larger side but we found the prices a bit high given the quality of the food. That said, a glance at the breakfast menu revealed prices the looked appropriate. Waitress was efficient and friendly.

The staff were very polite and served us promptly. The food was good. The home fries could have used some onions and green peppers. My aunts steak was not exactly how she wanted it but it was still good. My cousin had the Canadian Bacon which she reports was not bad but not the best she tasted. Overall 4 stars

We eat here 2-3 times a year. Food is very good. Omelettes can be made to order and they have more types of toast than just the "white bread toast" listed on the menu. Home fries are also very good. Service has been quick and friendly every time weve visited.

Ive been coming to this place more than 8 years, the service is always good, the staff is really friendly all the time. The place is always clean. The food is always good also. The chicken soup is my favorite. And the sweet potato fries

Could eat the chicken souvlaki all day every day. Wait staff is always on the ball, prices are extremely reasonable, open 24/7, best diner from Branford to Cromwell (in fact Id put it ahead of the Cromwell Diner)

As a native of Southern New Jersey, I grew up frequenting many diners! Athenas has amazing food and the staff are very friendly, they always ask how you are and make people feel welcome.

The Food is always very good a the Athena Diner. I usually get the Hamburger Deluxe or the French Toast. My only complaint is the soda glasses are on the small size.
