If you want the type of service that makes you want to say wow. You have to try Purdy Hill Bakery in Monroe. I was so happy with their service that I had to let the whole world know. From the moment I walked in every employee was smiling and quickly said hello and took my order fast. The bakery was extremely clean and properly maintained appearance count a lot with the representation of the bakery reminded me of the old days when you gat what you pay for. I was very pleased with the service and the pastry so I ordered my wedding cake from them. They did the cake 100 % accurate to what my wife wanted and the taste was 300% good. Everyone in the wedding day paid more attention to the cake them the fancy lobster dish I had for them. Best bakery in the World. Keep up the good work Girls its excellent .Thank you.

I am a fairly regular patron here for my morning coffee/treat. They have friendly staff and a varied selection of delicious, fresh baked goods. My one peeve, quality and consistency of selection and product have become lacking. The last few times Ive been, they have not had their (locally/family) famous chocolate croissant and periodically do not have plain croissant either. When in doubt, I thoroughly enjoy their scones. Although the overall quality and finish varies from day to day, one can learn to expect a yummy breakfast treat and a decent cup of coffee at very reasonable prices. I have had many of their cakes, cookies, and breads as well, and they are a go to for my special baked goods.

Weve been coming here for a few years. Not everything is excellent, but a number of things are great. The donuts are very good in the AM (jelly filled powdered, glazed bow tie, etc). They make the chocolate covered brownies (Oreo is my familys favorite. Extremely rich though). My MIL loved the Lemon Meringue Pie there, said it was best she ever had. Im not a lemon person though so dont have much of an opinion other than it was good. The interior is a little clinical in appearance, and the staff at times seems a little disinterested, but it depends on who you talk to. Sandwiches are typical deli breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Nothing special, but decent.

Every year we order our "wedding anniversary" cake from here...they make an amazing cannoli cake!!! We like to get it with the puff pastry, instead of cake, which just cannot be beat! Weve also served the cannoli cake made with cake and soaked in rum to our dinner guests. That version is also wonderful. They also have other cakes that can be bought right out of the case that are equally as delicious! Either as a last minute thought, or a planned special order, I highly recommend the cakes from this bakery!!!! Cupcakes on the other hand? Well, I would definitely go to Newtown for them!!!! =)

If you want rocks for rolls this is the place to go. It is not the first time my family has gone here and has been served stale food from the bread to the cakes. On top of that they were rude and nasty. They did not want to give a refund for the stale bread. When leaving she said "what a morning" like I ruined her day. Awful customer service, not professional at all. I will never go here again and highly recommend you stay away.

amazing selection of sweet treats! But I only go for the soups and deli sandwiches. Prices are ok. I feel the sandwiches are not always consistent. Few times I have gone they loaded up the meat. But once in awhile it seems to be a bit on the lighter side. The subs dont appear too much larger than if you get a roll. I wish they had the chili more. Chili and a salt stick is amazing.

this place is great i went there for my x-mas stuff and they may have been busy but they had wonderfull people workin to get u in and out fast! they are always CLEAN the food is great and the owner is wonderfull everyone is always happy and willing to help! i will never go anywhere else! i love this place!!

There arent many bakeries around any more, so I take advantage and visit every time Im in the area. Fresh baked bread, cookies, pastries, cakes and more! Everything is great quality, though Im partial to the rye bread and Portuguese rolls. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is the worst bakery I have ever tried. We asked them to make cool cup cakes for my sons birthday and they promised they will be ready by 6:30 am. They did not even started them by 7:30.

Cupcakes are moist and buttercream frosting is delicious. The black and white cookie was dry and icing was too sweet. Have had some cookies from here and they are solid.

Ordered a cake for 9am pickup a week ago. Showed up at 1030.. Still waiting at 11. Cake wasnt ready, service terrible, staff couldnt have cared less. NEVER USE THEM!!
