If I have to give 1 star, it is one star too many. We were so excited to try this place for dinner. We had made reservations and were seated 40 minutes after we arrived and would probably have been seated later if we had not pushed the issue. We were a party of 7 and they seated us at a cramped corner table. It was very warm in the restaurant. We placed our orders and this is when everything went downhill. They brought our side salads 25 minutes after we ordered them, in which one of the salads was never served. They told us that they were out of the wedge salad halfway through our meal. I had asked for the Thai mussels with shrimp, they served me regular mussels. I had sent it back and they never returned with my order. I finally cancelled the order. One of our burgers was not cooked well. We sent it back and they forgot about it. Had to ask for it twice. They brought it at the end our meal. Burgers are ok here. We had to ask for silverware and napkins and bread. The service here is horrible. Our server was not apologetic at all and rarely checked on us. The only item that was good here was the ribeye steak. It is a little pricey at $32. Its unfortunate to say, but I would not recommend this place. When we brought attention to the management, they didnt seem to care.

The Sloughhouse Inn bar, as usual, continues to provide a lackluster environment coupled with the warmest draft beer in the area. On our prior visit a couple of weeks ago the draft beer was cool but not cold and had to be ordered at least 10 minutes in advance due to the excessive draft pour beer foam. Of course, this allowed the beer coolness to elevate more towards the Inns desired room temperature. Nevertheless, the Inn offered a $2.00 draft beer which is the only bargain at this establishment. The bartender stated that they continuously have issues with the beer dispenser system. We mistakenly visited again yesterday and the draft beer was nearly flat and actually was room temperature. The bartender found that the draft beer cooler was not operating properly and removed all draft beers from sale. She did mention that the $2.00 draft beers are now $3.00 due to the excessive product loss due to foaming pours. What an operation. Lets gouge the customer by raising prices due to mismanagement and further direct customers into consuming more profitable beverages. The Sloughouse Inn owner(s) continue to blunder by providing a monotonous bar environment which lacks merriment and value. My recommendation is to drive a bit further.

I stumbled across this place while house sitting in the area and Im so glad I did! The food here is amazing, the staff is friendly and professional. Corkage is $15. We started with the cheese biscuits with local honey (delicious) and the onion rings, which were the perfect blend of savory, buttery breading with sweet onion and a tangy aoili dipping sauce. We both had the filet mignon as our main course, but I got the blue cheese sauce as side and my boyfriend got the horseradish. It was one of the best steaks Ive ever had - it practically melted in your mouth. We shared the rhubarb ice box cake for dessert, which was also wonderful.

Weve eaten here twice, once on 12/8/16 and again on 1/19/17. In December we had the Cowboy Burger and Beef in a Barrel with Crispy Brussels Sprouts and House-made Cheddar Biscuits as appetizers. In January we ate in the bar and had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Ruhstaller Beer Battered Onion Rings, and shared a Margherita Pizza and again we were NOT disappointed. This place is awesome. It brings a welcomed change to our restaurant selections in the area. They serve local wine and have a couple of taps. The only thing I can recommend is that they add a few more taps. We will definitely go back!

My Girlfriend and I went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Being a chef, I was very disappointed in there menu as well as their food. The menu was not created by there chef. If it was, he or she didnt spent much time towards it. The corn muffins that the server brought out were so old and dry. Even the server said the same thing. I order the salmon dish with rice pilaf and vegies. The salmon was good. Rice pilaf wasnt pilaf, but over cooked rice with tasted like cream of mushroom soup in it. I could go on about the sad wine list, but whats the use. I will never be back.

Very pleased with this place close to home, in the middle of nowhere near Rancho Murieta. Cute, sunny, pretty bar and patio too. Knew the quality of ingredients and beef would be excellent. Steaks cooked perfectly on our salad and brunch items. Lovely cocktails. Just wished the coffee was a bit better; tasted like Farmer Brothers. Couple of filthy steak knives were handed to us and service fell just a little short in a couple of areas but we will be happy to return again some day. Glad the historic building is being put to use.

Brand new restaurant a few minutes SE of us in horse/cattle (gold) country! Outstanding, and better than expected. Same owners as Roxy in Fair Oaks, so they have experience, and it shows in the service and food. Fresh Amador beer from up the road. We started with warm biscuits, butter and honey. I had house ground/aged burger with sweet/spicy "Millionaires-style" thick bacon. Got a fantastic garlicky herb dressing for my fries. Ivan had a NY steak and raspberry mojito. Friendly staff. Well be back. Historic building/location.

Will not go back here again, I ordered a burger which was over priced because it was smaller then a big Mac at mcdonalds the buns were oily the meat was dry and had no sauce what so ever, the fries were over salted and barely any, let alone my draft Coors light was warm and the place is so small and compact you have to yell just to talk to people, sorry but my first time was not impressed Id rather eat at red robin.

Had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday last night! There were 9 of us at the table. The restaurant was full up but service was really good, drinks came right away & our dinner was yummy. Ray had the Lucky Dog Ranch burger, I had the Vegetable Pot & Keahi had the Roasted Chicken ... Tasty, Tasty! I think every one had a great experience. We will be going back for sure!

Lingonberries over lemon ricotta pancakes. Avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs. A perfect bloody Mary. Breakfast doesnt get better. Quiet, superb service. Drive to it surrounded by verdant fields, a cow licking a friend, the collapsed barn. Left my iPad, retrieved it later in the day. A trusted friend, this restaurant.

Great service, great food!!! We arrived before they were open and were welcomed with lovely hospitality. The only thing better was the food. Amazing hamburgers and smoked ribs. That was just from the bar menu. Dinner was served later than our arrival. We will have to return to see how imazing that must be.

Beautiful historic building, gorgeous property. The food is excellent and the menu is very extensive. Staff is very attentive and responsive. There is a beautiful outside dining area near the creek. There is a full bar stocked with good wines and draft beer. Cant say enough good things about this Inn.
