The location of the restaurant is on Colorado Blvd closer to the end of Old Town. Parking would be most convenient if you park in the DeLacey free 90 minute parking lot and walk over. Make sure you make reservations for this restaurant! Love the ambience. Theres four sections to the restaurant - a more classy interior, an outdoor patio, outdoor fireplace comfy area, and a more causal dining room area. The menu is fairly simple, but True Food offers a plethora of solid choices. From appetizers, pizzas, and salads to bowls, entrees, and sandwiches - there are a ton of food items to choose from (most of which are pretty healthy). Drinks: -Honey lemonade: My sister wasnt a big fan of this drink and neither was I. Taste was not up to both of our standards. The honey mixed with the lemonade just didnt taste right. I think the honey sank to the bottom so we couldnt get much of that flavor in the beginning. -Farmers market sangria: Wow, this was a really strong cocktail, but Im so glad I got to try it! If youre a fan of deeper and heavier drinks, I think this is for you. Went well with the food that we got. Loved the overall flavor and taste of this drink. Food: -Butternut Squash pizza: It was burned pretty badly the first time it came to our table, but our waitress was super nice and gave us a new one right away. Ricotta, squash, and cranberry on a pizza - didnt sound very good but the concoction was pretty well thought-out. I dont know if I would order this again, but it was definitely a good one-time food item to try. -House made chicken sausage pizza: This was so good! I think the pizza was better than the entrees we had ordered for the night. The flavor was on-point and had a good amount of sauce and ingredients. -Grilled chicken salad: This was a favorite that we ordered for the night! Loved the freshness of the salad and the quality of the ingredients. Dried cranberries and apple definitely added to the overall taste. I would order this again. -Lasagna Bolognese: Ehh, my sister really likes lasagna but this had a lot more cheese than we expected. Very creamy and rich in cheese, but not the exact flavor that we were expecting. -Pan roasted chicken: I expected really good things after hearing about this chicken, but I thought it was way too salty. The sauce made the other items too soggy and soft - definitely too heavy to eat on its own. While eating this, I was craving a bowl of rice! The skin of the chicken was good though. -Spaghetti squash casserole: Didnt expect this to be so tasty, but it was really good! The vegetables made the dish super light and fresh, but the sauce really added to the overall taste of the dish. -Grass fed burger: So the best thing that we ordered the night I came with my friends was this burger. When I had tried True Food during the VIP night, I didnt want to order just a simple burger, but Mark G. highly recommended this so I knew I had to try it out! It was SO good. The flax seed bun gave it a new twist, but the burger itself was so tender and tasty! I wish it came with some fries, but instead we could have a salad or some squash. I think we thought it would be more of a mashed potato form, but instead it was served in little cubed blocks (super tough to eat). Overall a great dish! Dessert: -Flourless chocolate cake: If youre a fan of heavy chocolate cake, youll like this! It was a bit too bitter for my liking, but with the vanilla ice cream, I was able to eat some of it. My sister thought it was really good, but after eating a whole meal, itll be hard to eat a slice of this cake. -Apple Goji crisp: this was really tasty at first, especially with the ice cream! But after awhile, the almond crumble became a bit too much. Good apple flavor, but probably wont try again. tl;dr - Food wise everything is pretty good although prices are a bit more pricey. Expect to spend around $20 per person! Highly recommend the pizzas, spaghetti squash casserole, and the grass fed burger!

Extremely well done, fresh and seasonal food. I have been here several times and it never disappoints. Edamame dumplings - soft, truffle scented edamame enveloped by thin, al dente wonton skins. The five perfect dumplings and steep in a shallow pool of dashi broth and are topped with basil, cilantro, green onions, sesame seats and a few whole edamame beans. Its perfect. Herb hummus - good, theyll keep bringing the grilled flat bread. Brussel Sprout and wild mushroom pizza - really enjoyed this, who would have thought brussel sprouts would be good on pizza? Savory, garlicky with roasted mushrooms that mimic the texture of meat so well you forget its meatless. Seared albacore tuna salad - honestly the albacore is an after thought, the salad itself is what makes it good. It has avocado, grapefruit, chiffonade cabbage and Tuscan kale, almonds, pickled watermelon radish, thai basil, sesame, chili garlic dressing. I could have done without the three dinky pieces of albacore they put on it, but thats why its an $18.00 salad right? Red chili noodles - flavorful, nice crunchy vegetables, mushroom, best with tofu. Vanilla coconut ice cream - GET TWO SCOOPS.

What a fantastic place! Normally places are scrambling but this place has its act together. We were seated right way and our server Tony came up and introduced himself immediately. He was very friendly and let us know about the menu and how it is seasonal. It was really nice to have this introduction since it was our first time and we needed a tour of the menu. I really appreciated Tonys friendly attitude and honestly about the item I originally wanted to order. He let me know it was good but it was his least favorite. He made some recommendations for me and I have to say I am glad I listened since the entree I ordered was unbelievable. It is really nice to see a restaurant that caters the dietary restrictions. It is hard to find a place that has more than one gluten free or vegetarian offering. This place has lots and makes it very easy for my significant other to find multiple healthy items to eat. Overall this was the best customer service I have ever gotten at a restaurant. The staff is all very friendly, the food is out of this world, and the atmosphere is very fun, friendly, and hip. We will be back here as much as we can. Job well done!

True Food Kitchen (a chain) is my new favorite restaurant. They have the best healthy veggie dishes Ive had anywhere. (To the other restaurants out there: Theres more to veggie cooking than pasta with steamed vegetables or some sort of carbs with cheese.) Everyones doing cauliflower, but theirs is the best. And they have some rockin vegan options. Their "bowls" (so far Ive tried the ancient grains bowl) are healthy but dont taste that way, if you know what I mean. My husband the meat eater loves what I order, which says it all. Their ginger marg is the best margarita Ive had anywhere. The modern, open Spanish-style patio is just what Pasadena needs. Its got a cool, breezy vibe with gorgeous marble tables and bright, cheery splashes of color. I was kind of freaked out to see that one of the waiters has a full-arm tattoo that matches the marketing phrases on the restaurants t-shirts. It could be coincidence. Or could this be a healthy-food cult? This is how enthusiastic these guys are. And why not! :)
