Its hard to describe why this place is so good. Im sure it wouldnt suit everyone, but it sure suits me. I have gone there three times in the course of a week, once by myself and twice to show others. The LA Times called it to my attention as one of the top five spots in LA for chile verde, and thats what I had. The plate, at $8.95, includes a generous helping of pork with delicious green chile sauce, three freshly made tortillas, flavorful rice and beans. You get chips and salsa to start (and can choose your salsa blend). The quacamole is delicious also, a generous portion for $4.95. Apart from the food, the owner and her crew are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is part of a cluster of small wood buildings of significant but indeterminate age set around a grassy patio with parking in front. One building serves as the kitchen, and another as a small dining room. We ate at the picnic tables on the grassy area. Others have expressed concern about the surrounding neighborhood, but we encountered no issues. The restaurant buildings themselves are set back from the street, clean and safe. You will have your conversation interrupted every 2 minutes or so by a jet landing on the south runways at LAX, but you will probably see that as an opportunity for another bite of food.

A wonderful, authentic Mexican restaurant. Family owned. Food cooked by the woman who created the recipes. Served to you by family and/or close friends. This place is down home family style laid back eating. The menu consists of simple entrees that are all excellent. No frills. The ambiance is also fantastic. Many people love to come here and have lunch or even late breakfast and watch the planes land or take-off as the location is under the LAX flight path. Great photography opportunity if you so please.

I like this place. Or at least.. I want to like this place, but something was just a little off. The food wasnt bad. Maybe it was just so-so. I was a fan of their guacamole though. That was pretty good. It could be that it was a little off eating here. Not because of the airplanes flying overhead. But we seemed out of place. I would come back here though. It wasnt too bad. And they have their own parking lot. Also, they dont get too busy, but it takes a while for the food to come out.

This place was great! Fantastic service, very friendly and seemed to be family run. Food was tasty, homemade and inexpensive. Indoor seating or a lovely outdoor courtyard with comfy patio chairs and tables. The sign is on the building, which is set back from the road making it a little bit harder to see while driving in unfamiliar territory, but definitely worth the extra effort to find this place. All three of us give this place two thumbs up.

This restaurant is a hidden gem near LAX. A friend and I stopped by for lunch and we were greeted by one of the kindest people I have ever met. The food was great and the owner sat down next to us and told us the history of the restaurant. To top it off, she gave us a big hug before we left. If I didnt live so far from LA, I would visit this restaurant on multiple occasions.

This hidden place is kind of in a rough area and a little rough around the corners (and obviously right under the flight path for LAX), but I must say the food was excellent! It was authentic and the service was amazing. Also, the prices compared to the amount of food you get are incredible! I just wish this place was a little west of the 405!
