my boyfriend and I who love to try new things live very close to this five guys... today we finally decided to try it out (we usually go to our FAVORITE SPOT Lucky Star on Central Ave, north of the 91 freeway) ... while the place is crowded and they have nothing but signs of praises about the food on the wall the food really wasnt that good. I was looking to have a great burger, with the special sauce restaurants usually put on them... since they didnt have the sauce... I settled for the 1 patty burger w/ grilled onions and barbecue sauce. I give it about 3 stars. definitely not the best burger ive ever had, actually not even close (LUCKY STAR IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE OUR SPOT!!!!) and wouldnt be too sad if i never went here again.

After reading and hearing all they hype, I tried 5 Guys Burgers (in Carson, CA). Food overall was good. Service was fine. Place was clean. Peanuts were a nice treat. Damage to my wallet however was quite another story... 10 bucks and change for a double hamburger, fries and a drink?! I dont think so. At InNOut I would have spent 6 bucks and cents for a #1 Combo. Though the 5 Guys burger was about a 1/3 bigger than a Double/Double, the difference in price however does not wash with me for what extra you are getting (just how free are the garnishings?!). Rubys, Cocos and other family restaurants burgers are priced about the same as 5 Guys and taste the same. InNOut wins hands down.

Just ordered some burgers to go from here and they are huge--made fresh to order. It was a quite weird and empowering being forced to customize the toppings on your burger, from the veggies to whatever sauce you like. I opted just for cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onion, pickles, and grilled mushrooms, and hold the sauce. In the end, the sucker weighed a pound or more. Meat patty was thick and juicy, but without sauce there was something lacking in flavor to me, maybe A-1 or bbq might do the trick. They also have thick cut steak fries, which were oil drenched and soggy--more suitable for chilli fries--Ill pass on those next time.

This is their first restaurant out west. They have great burgers, dogs, and fries. You can have with sautéed mushrooms and onions and a mess of other stuff. Being a very famous east coast chain they are doing a great job at this new location to maintain the philosophy. Think of this as an In-N-Out with more options...more gourmet (and it cost more). My first experience at Five Guys was near Kitty Hawk on the outer bank of North Carolina. The food here in Carson was better and the restaurant was in far better shape. They will be opening up more stores out west soon and hope to get my family in for the experience.

Do not waste your time and your money. You can get the same burger at Burger King!! One reviewer mentioned this same thing and I did not believe. Went with my wife hoping the reviews were wrong. They were 100% right. No way is this burger better than even In-N-Out. You can totally tell they are a franchise. So you get the same McDonalds experience. Some locations are decent others are horrible. Fries look better than they taste. Fudruckers are much better. How zagat can say this is the best burger in U.S. is beyond me. Not worth the money or the wait.

Soggy bun that fell apart and left me holding two greasy meat patties. Filthy sweat shop with Walmart style workers. Made my burger wrong twice before I gave up. Couldnt taste the bacon or mushrooms. Plastic cheese. Lettuce wasnt happening. Overpriced. Id pay more for a InNOut. Or just go to Fatburger or Islands for the same or a little more. For $7-8 I expect real cheese, not McDonalds cheese. Oh, the fries looked great. But were kind of soggy.

employees were very professional and very kind... when I got home, I opend my bag and found 3 of the smallest hamburger I have ever seen. I ordered 3 bacon cheese burgers. they were $8.00 dollars each. wtf!!! I will never go back. for $24.00 dollars I could get 6 big macs, 5 carl jrs. super stars...I feel violated. my review has nothing to do with the employees. they were all good hard working and kind. I feel bad...

Overpriced food. Filthy restaurant. Ive had better burgers at a McDonalds. Service was lazy and they all seemed like they wanted to leave. The cheese wasnt melted yet so it got all wet and started to fall apart. The fries were soggy. The floors were all slippery and the bathroom was worse than that of a Greyhound bus stop. Dont waste your time or money, In-n-Out ALLLL the way.

I easily live an hour and a half away but am already planning the drive to get my first good burger in years. In & Out is the West Coast king and Five Guys is the East Coast king. California prepare to be overtaken!!! There is no comparison. Five Guys is better. I just hope they go public so I can buy some stock in thier company.

These burgers are amazing! The beef patties are really juicy and the beef itself is really good [probably because theyre grilled and never frozen]. Five Guys is a no-nonsense type of burger place with no gimmicks, just good burgers and fries. Compared to other west-coast fast-food burger places, I think these are definitely better.

This is the second time that I have been disapointed in the service and preparation of my food. The first time my order was completely wrong and the second time my fries were burnt and my milkshake watery .I dont usually leave negative reviews but on top of everything the staff was rude aND discurtious.

The Bacon Cheese Burger with fries and a large coke was really good. My Coworker never had it and this was his first time, he had a blast....burgers here are great and yes they are extremely expensive but you pay for what you get. Thank you Five Guys for opening here in Carson, CA Harry Irvine

I like Five Guys in general, but this particular location is to be avoided. How is it possible to take 25 minutes to make my cheeseburger, and then serve it to me with cold (unmelted) cheese? Unforgiveable. Especially when you consider the astronomical prices they charge.

Burgers. Fries. Amazing. Cajun fries are super amazing! Great taste, great service. They were one of the first places to include the new high tech soda machines. Free peanuts. Casual environment. Expect to use a few napkins. Well worth it.

Exceptional customer service. These gals were extremely attentive & pleasant. They even offered water while I waited for a to-go order. Nice to see all customer service has not died off!
