I have had takeout from Wasabi a number of times, and the food has always been fine. Not great, not terrible, just average. I recently ate at the restaurant and had hands down the worst customer service of my lifetime. A friend and I took our children there for dinner. We ordered a variety of sushi rolls, two childrens meals, and a bottle of wine. It was our waiters first night on the job and he was nervous but extremely polite, personable, and everything that a waiter should be. We got the food and the wine and everything was ok until our bill came, and it was $30 more than we anticipated. As it turns out, they charged us for a different bottle of wine ($20 more than the one we ordered) and adult entrees instead of childrens meals. I brought it up with the manager, who instead of apologizing, ridiculed me and told me I should have known when our food arrived that the childrens meals were too big to be for kids and that I wasnt even allowed to order off of the kids menu for dinner (then why did you bring me a kids menu?), and argued with me for several minutes about the wine, saying that I didnt double check the bottle to make sure it was the correct one and went on about how it was my fault and the best she could do was to give a 10% discount on the contested amount of the bill. Um, NO, the onus is NOT on the customer to make sure the employee does the job correctly. I completely understand that mistakes happen, and so that would never be a deal breaker for me, but the managers attitude was deplorable. Had she been remotely apologetic I would consider returning, but theres no way Im paying good money to be treated like crap when all I want is some mediocre california rolls and a glass of vino that I could buy for $2.99 from Pick N Save.

I have been going to Wasabi for 5 years, as some have said on here it was much better when it first opened, but I still consider it good quality compared to other Milwaukee area sushi bars. As for the service, it can be hit or miss, Ive gotten quite good service there, and quite bad. Until now I was never turned off, but after today I dont think I will be returning, at least for quite some time. Apparently, there is a new manager, I dont know her name, but she said she has been working there since August of 2014. She would not offer me the up to half off that they do on Monday pricing on my usual order that I had always received a few dollars off. She said it is for dine in only, and I replied that I have always gotten that pricing, in which she replied "well thats why Im the new manager, because the old one did stuff like that". I said fine, and agreed to pay full price, as I am signing I ask "there is eel sauce in there right?" Which she replies "well its 50 cents extra" which i laugh and say "well i was never charged for that before either, i guess you can run my card again for that too" which she then so graciously said she will give me the eel sauce "this one time" but please let us know ahead of time. "Well it will be one time because I put it on the online order ticket, and I wont be doing take out again". She got the eel sauce and said "Im sorry for the changes but that is why that manager is no longer here" which i replied "well she kept my business, you unfortunately did not". Good Luck!

The sushi is excellent, and that should be enough to get you in the door; however, there are plenty of good sushi places around for similar prices, so obviously youre reading google reviews to try and help sway your indecisive mind. Well, Ive been there, and I think I can help. This place has very good food with a good selection of non-sushi dished: bibimbap, Korean tacos, teriyaki, etc, but where it absolutely beats out the competition is ATMOSPHERE. I would be happy to be seated in any part of the restaurant, and the place provides you with that excellent "Japanese Lounge" feel without going overboard into sleazy or tacky. There are tons of booths an tables, each separated by a partition. The artwork is great, the food is great, the service is immaculate. Stop searching, you will NOT be disappointed in this place; and when you go in, youll see why it has its own little cult following. Try the "Marina" sushi roll while youre there, its fantastic.

My wife and I had our second Wasabi experience tonight. The first time there was wonderful, and we decided to try again to see if it is consistently good. Our second experience, even better! This is a nice restaurant in Brookfield. If you want cheap, this is not it. If you go in drunk, late at night, this is not it. This is a classy Japanese restaurant with a great owner and even better food. Yes, you pay for what you get, so be prepared to spend some time, money, and enjoy yourself. My recommendation - cooked: Filet Mignon (tied for best steak ever eaten in Milwaukee area). Sushi: Hana Marina Roll. They have great Sashimi with generous cuts of the best quality, flavorful, fresh fish around. I have to thank the owner for personally ensuring we had a wonderful evening tonight. - Thanks P.S. The house salad dressing is amazing and they have some FUN drinks and appetizers.

I am a huge sushi fan and decided to try wasabi. First and foremost, the staff was rude. We walked in at 9:10 pm and were told we needed to order immediately, considering they close at 10, you should be allowed to order UNTIL 10pm. We ordered right away but the waitress came up to us before our food was even out and told us to pay upfront, and THEN wed get our food. To top it off, she stood there while we were gathering our money. The sushi wasnt anything to talk about, the fish and vegetables were overpowered by their sauces and spices. After having a bad taste in my mouth, i decided to give it another chance. A friend and I went for lunch and once we walked in, the host looked at another server and said "whats with all these people coming in?" We left. This business is going to fail until they get better staff and know how to run a restaurant.

We have gone to Wasabi on a few occassions and the food was always good...UNTIL this last time in June 2012. I ordered my usual, the Chilean seabass that comes stuffed with crab and is over grilled veggies. I ordered this from the menu, which had that same description. What came on my plate was plain seabass with some noodles with a cream sauce. I told him this is not what the menu stated and the server told me there was a new chef who was upgrading the menu. I told him, you cant change something and not change the menu, or at least you have to tell your customers if an item has changed. It took them another THIRTY minutes to cook my food, while I sat there hungry and pregnant and waited! Meanwhile, my husband had finished his meal (sushi) which he also said was not as good as times before. Their new chef is obviously not a good one!
