This place knows what theyre doing. We went for a random weekday lunch while we were in Georgetown and sure glad we did. Service was amazing -- the owner is the sushi chef and he treats everybody who walks in as a friend; the appreciation they show to customers prove hospitality is not dead in America. I almost thought they were mistaking us for a couple of celebrities they were expecting for lunch. On top of the warm welcome, they gave us complimentary miso soup right off the bat. After drooling over most of the items of the menu, we finally decided on getting the lunch combo (salad, miso soup, chefs choice nigiri sushi selection / grilled saba mackerel, rice - choice of brown or white) and also nigiri salmon sushi (we ordered to share). The chef asked if it was our first visit (it was), and he gave us a special prime cut of salmon for the nigiri - which melted in our mouths. The saba mackerel was grilled to perfection (they marinate it overnight in a traditional salt rub) and the chefs choice sushi was not a medley of the usual California Rolls -- they were generous portions of a variety of fish including a buttery tuna that was amazing. The chef mentioned that dinner is really where they shine, which I cant imagine, because lunch was already through the roof. Triple thumbs up on portions, service, value, quality of food and atmosphere. Cant wait to go back for dinner -- the only real test is if the Chef will remember us!

Just had a meal here the other night and it was excellent. I am in no way a food critic but I have had enough sushi to recognize quality when I eat it, and this place has the goods. The prices are what you would expect for good sushi (6-19$ per role) , and obviously anything off the menu will be a few dollars more. We only had sushi roles, gyoza, and beef yakisoba. If your looking for well priced quality sushi this is your place. The Gyoza was good (kind of mushy) and the Yakisoba was not bad but not great. On the other hand each role that we had was great. We even ordered a couple that were not on the menu. We wanted something with cream cheese so he made a "Philly" and it was impressive, never had one made that way and it really worked (Im honestly surprised its not on the menu). We also liked the "Crazy Dragon" and the "Spicy Tuna" so we had the chef combine the two and what he came up with was great. It had spicy and mild, crunchy and soft, warm and cool, and sweet and salty components that all combined for a terrific role. I would encourage you to trust the sushi chef. He not only has skills, he seems to really believe in what he is doing and I think that he really cares about his customers experience and truly wants to make them happy. THANKS ALEX!!!

Just went here for the first time tonight. The staff was friendly and we were seated right away. Prices are reasonable I think I got a good amount of food for the price. Just a detail, but they served me several minutes before my wife. I waited until my wifes food arrived and my dinner was not quite as warm as I would liked for obvious reasons. I ordered beef teriyaki and it came in thin slices as you might expect with roast beef, which was a little odd, but it tasted good. The slices were a little large, which was awkward with chop sticks. My wife had the sushi combo and enjoyed it. We will come back if we are in the area and in the mood for Japanese food. It isnt the best Japanese restaurant in Seattle, but it pretty good.

The service was just plain... weird! My wife and I felt awkward the whole time we were eating. It is hard to explain what happened, but it was kind of like the waitress forced us into ordering a specific dish, like literally she would not let us order anything else. We then felt like she was staring at us the whole time we were eating. We could see her staring at us in our peripheral vision and then when we turned our heads and she would look away or just keep staring and smile. Ive never had an experience quite like it. The food was okay from what I remember and I would have rated the place a 2 if it were just me, but my wife insisted on the 1 star.

I often visit customers at Boeing Field and I think this place is great. Ive been twice in the past year for lunch and both trips were great. Ive had sushi and sashimi both times and it was fresh and tasty. I wonder if someone is getting them confused with another restaurant. The nigiri is way better than most neighborhood places that dont put any wasabi on it or make any effort to make it look good which is a key part of japanese cuisine. I wish more of my customers liked sushi or Id go here much more often.

Its okay. The Ahi Poke salad was not very flavorful, there was too much other filler (cabbage, seaweed, cucumbers), but the gyoza was nicely fried. The nigiri we ordered (Sake, Maguro, Saba) was just average. The fish didnt taste right. It wasnt bad but perhaps the grade wasnt as good. The saba had a different flavor than Im accustomed to tasting. I want to give it another try, so well see if were in the area again.

Alex the Lunch sushi chef is right up there in terms of knowledge and skill. I would be hard pressed to compare him to legendary Shiro, however the quality and presentation was exceptional, and I think he could hold his own against established seattle masters. The Ikura uni, and others he had on daily special were Top notch. I plan on coming back and even try an omikase here.

Not impressed with quality and service. The broth was tasteless. The meat taste badd. I mean badddd. I mentioned it politely and the lady said so I pack it for to go !!!! Horrible experiance. I saw reviews and went for it as we were visiting Seattle. I recommend 0%. They charge arm and leg for basic simple rolls and their quality is as owing numbers to 0.

Good atmosphere but very pricey. Probably the smallest portions I have ever seen for $12+. Service was incredibly slow as well, but they were. Very nice and could have just been understaffed. It will probably be a while before I try this place again as I know at least 3 other places that have as good or better food at almost half price.

I have been going to Daimonji for more than a year now, and the quality is consistent and amazing every time. The husband/wife team clearly love what they do, and have stayed open late for us sushi fiends more than once! These people are passionate about what they do, and that you have a great experience there. Yum!

I have literally never had better sushi anywhere else. The staff is super nice, Alex (the sushi chef) is a straight up baller and is on point with his roll game. You can never go wrong. Order the "Monster Rolls". They arent on the menu and slightly more expensive (about $16) but they are the best rolls Ive ever had.

Well... Sushi was alright. Nice people. A bit overpriced for quality got at lunch. Who lists California roll and says it has crab in it- I double checked and it was not real one at all. Sushi rice is mediocre and the fish was OK making it alright overall. For some reason I felt it was salty in general.
