I came here for the Sunday lunch buffet. It was very authentic and overall the food was high quality. With that being said, I dont think I would recommend this to someone being introduced to Indian food for the first time. The buffet was very vegetarian heavy. At first I thought the side buffet was the vegetarian entrees. However, it turns out those were all vegetarian as well as 75% of the main buffet. There was only a small section of dishes with meat in them. My favorite Indian dish is Chicken 65, a dish which originated in Chennai India in (you guessed it) 1965. This dish was not on the buffet. There was of course Chicken Tikka Masala which is an all-time favorite among us foreigners (#1 dish in Britain). The meat seemed to be high quality but tasted dry. How do I know that a piece of chicken covered in masala sauce is dry? No clue, but I know. This is a problem Ive noticed in most Indian restaurants. Our Place really excelled at the vegetarian dishes. I personally enjoyed the dish listed as Bitter Melon which was a spicy dish that sort of tasted like cooked jalapeños with peanuts and Indian spices/flavors. I believe the real name for this dish is Khatta Karela and its definitely not for everyone (would only recommend it to those who like spicy and hardcore Indian food). I had so many dishes that its hard to name all of them but several of the vegetarian dishes surprised me and were much better than expected. There were several items here that I had not seen on other Indian food buffets before. For dessert I had the mango custard which was fine and kesari which looks like an orange mush with a small number of peanuts in it. The kesari tasted nothing like I expected. First of all, it looks like a cold dessert but it is warm like a cobbler! Its quite sweet and frankly quite good. I couldnt help myself but go back for seconds on the kesari. In terms of atmosphere I found it interesting that they had a TV playing ESPN above the buffet. I was fine with that, especially considering it is Super Bowl Sunday. Many reviews I read said that most of the clientele here is Indian. I was surprised to find most of the customers when I went were non-Indian, but I think it depends when you come. I got there at 10:55am and they had already opened early. Many of the people eating at that time appeared to be Caucasian atheists that had no church service to go to. I suspect most of the Indians start piling in during the afternoon. Service was very attentive. Im sure this is partially due to not being as busy early on a Sunday but they always filled my water immediately and each time I returned from the buffet my old plate was already removed. They also brought my check out right when I was eating dessert, so perfect timing! Overall, I liked this place. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 if I could. This place definitely serves high quality authentic Indian cuisine. Ill probably be back at some point but will still be hunting for the ideal Indian buffet for me. BTW, the buffet price was $15.10 after tax. I suppose its more expensive on Sundays than other days.

We went for buffet lunch so my review is based on the experience of buffet lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is average. The décor is okay and the wait staffs do what they are supposed to do. The food on the buffet line is hot. I have had Indian food throughout the US and grew up eating Indian food. The buffet line comprises mainly north Indian foods while some south Indian foods are also present. The buffet items are the usual rice, chicken, Naan. The buffet price was $ 10.95, which is a lot considering the taste and the number of food items on the buffet line. The price includes soft drinks and ice cream. The Chicken Tikka Masala was overly creamy and the chicken was overly cooked giving out rubbery, chewy taste. The Chicken Tandoori did not fare any better either. Along with the Tandoori and Tikka Masala, Chicken 65 was also overly cooked with the same chewy, rubbery texture. I do not know why the owner/ chef have not followed what other restaurants do regarding Naan. Other places bring out couple of Naans to individual tables when the customers sit down to eat and never make Naans ahead of time. The best Naan is the one which has been prepared on order and consumed immediately. The people at this place, however, cook a lot of Naans ahead of time and put them on the buffet line which makes the Naan crunchy and stiff over time. It was weird that we were not given any ice with our water nor were we asked if we needed any. Another weird thing was, all the customers were presented with the check/bill around 2:15 PM when the buffet was getting ready to close at 2:30 PM. I observed that this place attracts a lot of non-ethnic people, meaning, you will not find their own kind eating here. Out of about ten tables, only two tables were Indians. You will be hugely disappointed if you go here expecting real spicy authentic Indian food. The food is customized to cater to the palate of non-Indians; which makes the food really bland. They do not have popular items on the buffet line like Samosa, however, I was surprised to see items like Tomato Rice and Spinach Rice. The place also lacks in the choices for dessert. They charge almost $11 for weekday buffet lunch and I can only imagine what they would charge for dinner. I would not mind paying $11 for good Indian food, but the food at this restaurant certainly does not command $11 per plate. The price should be on par with other area restaurants. There are a lot of other choices for Indian food in this area. I was expecting a stellar experience based on the ratings online but I am disappointed with the food as well as the price. This will be my last visit to this place, for; I am not paying $11 for mediocre buffet lunch. Folks looking for other options are Pasand on Belt Line Road close to Irving Mall and Roma Palace in Garland area. Pasands food and price are better and Roma Palace has one of the lowest buffet prices with good food for around $7.

Terrible food. The place is highly disorganized and badly managed. The waiters running all over the place. Our first impression was that the place must be serving great food based on the reviews and customers mostly Indian some Chinese and a few Americans who had queued waiting for their turn for tables. Once we settled in, it was just a nightmare. The place was completely scattered. None of the chairs were in place, the tables were filled with used plates and food scattered everywhere. Wow!!! The people had flocked at the buffet counter filling their plates as if they had not seen food for days! Or the world is coming to an end! Thats from the ambience perspective. We finally settled amidst that confusion and started filling our plates, the biryani had no flavor, was dry, salty and no taste. The fish curry was absolutely terrible just not edible, the garlic chicken was stale was literally stinking had no flavor of garlic, the tandoori chicken was was lacking in salt and flavor and tasteless. I couldnt find a single dish up to the mark other than the paneer curry. We were really disappointed wondered why we entered there. The good reviews here are completely misguiding, none of the food represent or tasted what it should. Doesnt represent the Indian food at all. Or Probably not my day where everything was completely out of place! If I were to give a star it would be 0 if I ever could. The name of the restaurant sounds very apt our place not meant for outsiders but only for the Desi guys who never have changed their lifestyle or their old habits despite moving here. No wonder people form opinion about Indians! Never will recommend this place to any one. Very unwelcoming and "Not worth the money"! Recommendation to the management: please change your chef immediately. Its defaming the Indian food. From some of the older reviews I read that the place used to be good before and not any more! I am sure you must have had a name in the past but for now its a disaster! The place is also shabby and stinks of old stale food! The dessert area needs an upkeep! The ice cream vending machine was really messy with cream spilt all over the place! The upkeep requires serious consideration! Manager: manning the cash register, you seem to be always busy over the phone and most of time running all over the place yourself. If you yourself are so disorganized how can the waiters be??? You are making your customers wait in a line to pay their bills, I had to stand for over 10 min to settle my account! And there was already a queue built up just to settle their bills as well, waiting for you to arrive! Certainly something is seriously lacking! Let me tell you that this is the worst Indian restaurant ever!!
