Horrid food, incompetent service. This experience crystallizes my conclusion that there are atleast 2 distinct group of restaurant goers. There are those who love and those who hate the same place. So you may want to check out several reviews from the same person to see if your taste profile matches theirs. THE FOOD Mediocre to plain awful. The stromboli was huge but insipid, the individual ingredients seemed bottom shelf [Ill discuss the incompetence part later]. The Veal Parm was fairly overdone and way too much parm. The tomato sauce was plain bland. The seafood fettuchini and spaghetti carbonari was just as awful as everything else. The wedding soup was not all bad, a bit too salty...and oh, and the bread basket was worse than Olive Garden [if that is possible]. THE ATMOSPHERE The place reeks of parm, but otherwise cheesy but kitschy decor. THE SERVICE SO I give very explicit instructions that I want no cheese other than mozzarella in my stromboli, especially no parm. When I begin to eat, I realize the crust is brushed with a seasoning that is mainly guess what - PARM. I finally manage to beg the waitresses attention and while containing my frustration inform her of the issue. She asks me "Are you sure? I think it is just oregano"!!!! WTF, Im not sure which part of that sentence was more infuriating. Im not sure, but I think there was an apology somewhere, but sure didnt feel like it.

The atmosphere is great, most of the staff are friendly, the décor is very different in a good way, now the cons, the waiter was not focused on the customers when i ordered my food (sprite, chicken toratinie, and chili) the sprite and chili came out first, the waiter SAT down the food and walked away, the sprite tasted weird, ( it was not sprite) and the waiter didnt bring crackers for the chili so I waited about 20 minutes before I grabbed another waitress to help me she went and found him finally he came around the corner I explained to him what was wrong and he changed my soda and grabbed me crackers without apologizing or anything along those lines he seemed like I was bothering him or he was distracted from his job, finally the rest of the food came out it was delicious, but for the price you would think you got more than what you got which is half a plate, I then ordered a chocolate home made cake and ice cream I took one bite and tasted wine i asked him if it was made with it and he said no well I didnt eat it and he took it off the bill, after everything and 3 hours later and a $35.00 bill I didnt leave a tip, now before you get upset about my decision I understand waiters and waitresses work off tips which is accurate but if you want a good tip or any at all make your customer happy, be engaged in your job not other issues and dont make a customer wait 3 hours from start to finish,

If you stick with the traditional Italian fare you will be satisfied, otherwise, you may not desire a return visit. I enjoyed a casserole dish of the Stuffed Shells Florentine, while my girlfriend suffered through some of the toughest cod either of us have had the displeasure of consuming. The salads were mediocre, though the housemade Ranch was a definite treat. The breadsticks were okay, though forgettable. The best item was the Rice Pilaf side dish; it was thoroughly enjoyable! The bar noise was unavoidable, which was a disappointment... but we dined there on a Saturday night so I was expecting what I encountered. Overall, I would say its worth trying if you have steer clear of the fish and are looking for a decent dining experience late in the evening. Full menu until Midnight was the primary reason we wound up there. The service was good, and though it was far short of spectacular, Id go again if I were in that part of town at that hour.

This was the WORST food I have ever eaten at a restaurant. We got a fried veggie sampler and another appetizer. BOTH definitely tasted as if they had been frozen and hastily reheated. No seasoning on them and way overpriced for crappy frozen apps... The we had our pizza which was more bland than the apps--if possible. The thin, crispy-ish crust had no flavor and the same went for the sauce. Cheese was low quality and seemed as if it had barely melted and then sat on a heated rack waiting for the next customer (us!). One thing I noticed was the overwhelming amount of elderly folks there which (nothing against older folks) may have explained the incredible lack of taste in any of the food. I will never come back here again. WORST pizza and food I have had in Columbus thus far. Sorry, Villanova :(

We went there and unfortunately we honestly did not get greeted for 15 minutes, it was awful. After 10 minutes we set a 5 minute timer on my phone and if it went passed that we were going to leave. With about 15 seconds left (literally) a server finally came. We stayed and ordered there pasta sampler. It was gnocchi, spaghetti, lasagna, and ravioli. The gnocchi was decent, the spaghetti was pretty good for being just noodles and sauce. Lasagna was very good, it was probably the best thing on the sampler. The meatball was delicious. The ravioli was decent, nothing special. The side salad was an iceburg lettuce back from giant eagle. If the service wasnt awful I may have went back. However the food wasnt good enough to keep me coming back.

I liked the price of drinks at the bar. But it was way to crowded and it took forever for me to get anything. My drink was HUGE and cheap and I ended up not being able to drive which was not what I intended for that night. After getting a table, I think for the price of their food, I would much rather go to olive garden for their eggplant parm. Everything we had was covered in this awful red sauce which tasted canned. Our calamari was gross ( we try calamari everywhere ) and overpriced at that. The service was pretty slow and mediocre. I dont see us going there in the future. If Im spending $30+ (bar tab was separate and we got water to drink) on dinner, Id much rather go somewhere else.

My first memory of Villa Nova was when I was 6 years old and there with my Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Grandfather, and Uncles. I remember trying my first bite of Seafood Alfredo and have been hooked ever since, their soup is very good as well. Now Villa Novas has become a family tradition in my family and my kids love it as much as I did. The atmosphere is homey and peaceful. Even when their busy the food still comes out fast. Weve never had a bad experience here and hope to continue the same tradition in the future. The only thing Id change about the place is a bigger waiting area, its a tad nippy in the winter months by the front entrance.

I discovered this place after moving into the neighborhood, and it is my go-to choice for a good, inexpensive meal nearby. Its definitely better than Olive Garden, in my book. Ive always had good service, and I like the warm, friendly atmosphere. It is always packed, no matter when you go... which is a good indicator of its quality, and they handle the large crowds pretty well. The only gripe I have is that parking is sometimes an issue. I definitely recommend this place if youre in the area. Oh, and while youre there, order a tall Hosters Gold Top. A tasty (and huge!) beer at a reasonable price.
