Nasty management. My shirt was all white when I went to Beso last week with friends who live in Staten Island and two other couples. The bus boy was clearing our table and accidentally knocked an entire glass of red wine on my white shirt. The front of my dry clean only white shirt was covered in wine, my pants were soaked and the wine was dripping into my shoes!!! Management nor the hostess cared. Normally someone from management would have come over to apologize. The busboy and the waiter were very apologetic. Apologized to me several times and he said he feels so bad. Turns out these two gentlemen were the only employees of the restaurant that felt bad and apologized. I spoke with the hostess and she pretty much laughed and said I know what happened he asked me if I had an extra shirt to give you. I told her the restaurant is paying for the dry cleaning of the shirt and asked if they were going to compensate me in some way regarding the dinner bill. She kept telling me accidents happen over and over again and she said we did compensate you, we gave you a replacement glass of wine. Seriously????? They should give me another glass of wine since I was wearing the first glass of wine! She said she would get back to me. The six of us were waiting for the hostess to get back to me and I had to ask her 3 times what is being done. Each time she told me accidents happen. I KNOW ACCIDENTS HAPPEN, that’s why they call them accidents!!! The hostess took the price of one glass of wine off the bill and all eight of us were standing up ready to leave with our coats on and they bring us a desert bottle of wine. I went to the cleaners and I was told by the owner that there is no way he can get the wine stain out of my shirt. I contacted Jeff, one of the managers of the restaurant and gave him the news. Since the shirt is now garbage I wanted the price I paid for the shirt which was $50. Jeff told me there is no way for him to know that I actually paid $50 for the shirt and if I bought it last year the shirt would not be $50 this year, just like a car. I suggested we get this resolved asap and he can send $35 to me for the depreciation value. Oh, he kept telling me accidents happen. Jeff offered to give me a $50 gift card for the restaurant. This is useless to me, I live 2 hours away, between tolls and the additional money for dinner and the loss of my shirt, this would cost me more money! How is this an equitable resolution for me? I had Jeff leave the gift card for my friend who lives in Staten Island. Someone might as well use it. I understand the wine spill was an accident but there is no excuse for the restaurant to treat a patron with so little respect and lack of caring. Neither Jeff nor the hostess apologized. The bus boy and waiter are far more competent and understanding to be the manager of the restaurant. It’s beyond belief Jeff the GM should think a $50 gift card to the restaurant was compensation for my shirt covered in wine that is now in the garbage. You know what they say….you can’t fix stupid.

Spanish "inspired" restaurant Beso, a much needed addition to the epicurean wasteland that is St. George, puts up a great effort but fails to transport. Although the food is, at times, very good it is hard to recommend while using the word Spanish in its description. The atmosphere is delightful and the staff could not be more friendly or accommodating, however the food does less than inspire. To be clear, there is little to no tapas on the menu that one might find in Spain. Its more like an extended appetizer menu (avrg $10) with just enough "favorites" to make sure the dude in the group that wanted to go to CHILLIES or TGI FRIDAYS is sure to get his grub on. Chicken wings, Quesadillas, Guacamole and Nachos make there way onto the menu. There are plenty of tasty adult beverages to be had at BESO, but the wine list is quiet and forgettable so much so that you wouldnt know that Spain is indeed a wine culture and has many varietals sought after world wide. You will not find Iberian jamon, Cabrales or Manchego cheeses, OR the all important Spanish classic, the Tortillas (potato and egg.) I secretly wanted to ask the chef to consult one of the many Spanish cookbooks lining the walls of this new-comer that seem to have so much potential.

I would have loved to give 5 star because the food was delish but the service was horrible! And the mildew smell was outrageous. My husband and I, along with another couple were told 20 minute wait so we took a seat at the bar.. half an hour passes and we notice the time and we decide to wait a little longer before bringing it to the hostess attention; about 10 minutes later a waiter walks over with a plate of lamb chops and says here u go so we go oh how nice of them for making us wait this long they feed us since its going on an hour wait!! Then the bartender says after we finish them, that wasnt for you that was for them(people next to us) but dont worry like oh ok thanks for making us feel stupid.. long story short we got seated over an hour later and they tried to charge us for what we thought were complementary lamb chops that we didnt even order and made a huge deal about. There are too many restaurants on the island to ever deal with that again. Sorry but I will not be going back :/

Wow...reading these reviews make me wonder if you have ever eaten in a Tapas restaurant in your life. Well, I have. Dozens of them, in fact. Okay, lets not compare this place to Madrid (which has its good places and bad as well...Im talking about the country, of course...). First, the service was slow (and the place wasnt even packed). The selection: dismal. Their penchant for putting cheese on almost every tapas dish was unsettling. The santgria...OMG! It was like watered down Welches...and without a sliver of fruit! There are some excellent Tapas restaurants in Manhattan, but even better ones in New Jersey. This one is an extremely overpriced Staten Island version.

Went to Beso yet again to receive the worst service ever. Arrived at 507 sat and went over the menu, then realized that it is Monday and they usually have a Prix fix. We asked for the menu and was told it will be a few minutes.. Waiter brought over water and we reminded him that we asked for the Prix fixed menu he said a few more minutes.. OK. We finally gave up waiting at 540 and went to Blu another restaurant just minutes away.. My complain is why does it take so long to get a menu? Why isnt this planned out in advance. Poor execution and just terrible process.. Spending my money elsewhere tonight.. Same owners but just a better value..

This restaurant is The BEST restaurant me and my girlfriend ever ate in. I took her here for our anniversary, The Food was Amazing Im still thinking about it days after. The service is outstanding, waiters and waitresses treat you with nothing but respect. The restaurant itself is a bit on the smaller side BUT it accommodates everyone and you dont feel like your shoulder to shoulder, The Perfect size. The restaurant is decorated to perfection and the music is set at just the right tone. If I could give this place 100 stars I would, But this restaurant is Top of the Line 5 STARS. (Well Be Back)
