Came here with a group of 8. Restaurant is large enough to accommodate large groups. Ambiance and decoration is so so. Service was excellent. Waiters were friendly. We ordered regular nan, goat rogon josh, chicken kadai, lamb curry, chicken curry, somosa, shammi kabab, and other things that I forgot. Reason for the 4 stars was the goat rogon josh. Even though the meat was on a bone, the meat was tender and extremely flavorful. I expect Indian cuisine to have tons of bold flavors and they definitely delivered. Caution, one of us ordered a dish to be very spicy and it was VERY spicy. I eat spicy foods a lot and this was really spicy. The mild and regular/normal spicyness is good enough for majority of the people. The lamb curry was just okay because it was chewy. The shammi kabab was surprisingly very good. It didnt look appetizing but it was delicious. You got the meat flavor and the coriander wasnt overpowering. I dont think they make their own nan, but at least it was hot when it arrived. It wasnt sitting around forever. The sauces were tasteful and my Indian friends agreed. I would recommend this place and I would come back and dine here again.

First thing first. I am indian and have been eating indian food all my life. ** Butter Chicken Alert** If you know what butter chicken is then PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. You will be utterly surprised and DISGUSTED. Its down right nasty and an insult to Butter Chicken. Like another reviewer, we threw ours out also but after calling the restaurant thinking that there must be a mistake in our order. The first person claimed "well thats how we make it". So i asked for a manager and i have NEVER spoken to anyone so rude. I asked if a mistake had been made and he replied that , "no, this is how we make it and have made it for years", he also stated that i "should have read the description". Wait what, why would i need to read the description on Butter Chicken. And all we ordered was Butter Chicken and Nans. He then had the audacity to state that "you must have wanted to order mughlai chicken." No FOOL, i wanted and ordered butter chicken, not what looked like chicken swimming in puke. *** Listen, all you have to do is order it and see for yourself. But please compare it first to authentic indian butter chicken, not to This is how "we" make it butter chicken. ***

Went for dinner with my wife and daughter and enjoyed our meal, thoroughly. When we got there a gentleman was just finishing his meal and then we were the only people in the restaurant, which was strange, but the phone didnt stop ringing so it appeared to us that most of their customers are delivery orders... which I have read from reviews before going, a lot of people order by phone. To the meal: The Mulligatawny soup was superb, Tomato/Lemony - very tasty, I loved it! We also had the veggie samosas (great) & chicken liver as an app, which was pretty good - it came with delicious poori and I added some condiments; Tomato & Lime Chutney - a perfect compliment (which I almost finished on the papdam that greeted us at our table) . For our entrees we had Chicken Tikka Masala, it was pretty good... the sauce tasted a bit like tomato sauce, but it wasnt that bad....not the worst, not the best. We also ordered the Lamb Roganjosh - this was incredible! Very tender lamb, juicy and such a delicious sauce. We ordered Garlic Naan with dinner and it also was delicious. Overall the food was very good, the prices were great and I would definitely go back for more.

I have been to Indian restaurants all over the world, and give this one very high ratings. For NYC the prices are amazingly reasonable, such as two samosas for $2.50 and dinner entrees with ample portions for under $10 (check menu to verify prices). If you ask for "spicy," be warned that they take you seriously, so if youre not used to "hot," maybe try mild or medium first. The flavors are solidly good with the right level of complexity. The aloo paratha was well stuffed with potatoes. The service is good, and they even gave me a little bowl of dal "on the house." Worth traveling to get there, especially for a family dinner in a relaxing atmosphere.

I am living in Harlem west side and it is not easy to get there by train.Eventhough it took me about an hour to get there. It is definitely worthy. Honestly, I am not an indian food fan. But the food here was impressive. this is the first time I went there, the environment is not that good. the restraunt is so dark there without a light I guess. If i am dine in, I would care. but I ordered to take out. the atmosphere is not that important. this is the highest rating I can give for a restraunt, I would buy food there again. I ordered lamb and chicken vindaloo, cost about 20 bucks.

I came here for a quite dinner with my boyfriend and was not disappointed. The interior is big and spacious, and theres a full bar. The waitstaff are very friendly and attentive, I swear my water glass never had a chance to be empty! The food is flavorful, delicious, and filling; if you order an appetizer and an entree, you will leave here totally stuffed! I especially liked that when I asked for my dish to be on the spicy side, it was actually SPICY! Definitely my go-to place for Indian in the area.

Ordered two entrees rice and mulagatany soup with the appetizer sample (pakora, samosa, etc..) I did not realize the food came with basmati rice for each entree and lentil soup!! Needless to say we got way more food then we thought we would which was a happy surprise because now we have leftovers for lunch! Our meal came to 40 with tip and for two people and for two meals thats a great deal!! Also they delivered, and the estimated time was 45-60min but they were here in 30min! Bonus

I loved this place!! the food is really good and it has very good service, and is very inexpensive for the proportional and the quality of a meal they provide for you! They treat their customers, in my experience, very well and they are respectful to you as a customer. The place is also very nice and the music playing in the restaurant play very calm and soothing music, and during the early day as a buffet and in the evening a restaurant theme but i recommend both times of the day.

This is one of the best places in NYC where you can grab traditional Indian (especially Bengali) food that is a treat for the taste buds that crave the delectable Indian curries. The manager, Hussain is extremely hospitable and so are the other staff members. The prices are very reasonable too as compared to other Indian restaurants in NYC!
