Originally, my sister and I were going to sit down and have a quick pastry and a refreshing drink after our 13 mile walk. We then decided that we would just grab something to go. At the counter, after waiting for five minutes while they chatted amongst themselves, I asked for a cherry limeade with, and I stressed, VERY LITTLE ICE. I even went as far as saying, " like two pieces would suffice." Then ordered 2 brownie bites. The limeade took some time and he came back with a cup practically full of ice. Someone else asked what the problem was since the guy who took my order walked away. I explained, and she said there is only a little, the cup was 3/4 full of ice. Then she had the audacity to say, "I am sorry that you are having such a horrible experience here" with such contempt and then offered me a third brownie bite "on the house," after swiping my card without telling me the total for my order. I said no thank you, took my brownie bites and my limeade, went to the garbage, emptied out the ice that was still too much and tried the brownie and the drink...after that awful experience, how disappointed I was to find out that even the drink and brownie were awful. Well, I know where I will never be going again. Poor service, bad food & drink, guess its true what they say about the French, just didnt expect that in a French bakery from Americans.

I love Le Pains menu and their food. It is probably hands-down the restaurant I most crave when I want a good, fresh and fulfilling meal. That said, the take-out service lacks attention. The girl who took my order today clearly had no interest in her job. She gave me attitude when I asked what dresses are available, then she got my name wrong (its Amy, by the way - pretty easy) and got the order wrong (both items!). Ordinarily, this isnt a big deal, although you do want to receive what you paid for. Unfortunately, I have severe allergies that prevented me from consuming my meal. When I discovered the error, I called to request a reimbursement and was asked, "How?" by another worker in Le Pain. I believe that when something like this happens, it is only appropriate for a manager to handle the situation and for him/her to offer multiple solutions to the customer. Sadly, this didnt happen, and I wont be returning to this location of Le Pain again.

Out of all LPQ locations in New York City, my experience here was the best when it comes to the staff. Not a grain of rudeness or grumpiness which can found in this big chain restaurants. Very well organized and managed LPQ location. Seating wise, there are several communal tables and some great tables with the street view. Menu is usual LPQ stuff, so if you dig that youll know what to expect; organic food with many vegan/veggie options nicely prepared for enjoyment. I guess this goes for every LPQ, but if youre having sweets, ask for a jar of their creamy spread, you wont regret it. It comes in chocolate, hazelnut and white chocolate. Heavenly.

Beautiful atmosphere. Felt cozy amd quaint even though it was bustling and busy. The fresh flowers are a fantastic touch, with the hint of lilies mixing with the smells of the bakery wonderfully. The food looks awesome and my apple tart was fantastic, but the chai latte was watery. However the busy wait staff handled the high maintenance woman next to me with speed and grace I couldnt have mustered.

The place is ok. Crowded. Tables are too close to each other, you can barely move though it. Menu is ok, food is ok, nothing special or even average. Bad service. The staff was rude and unhelpful, it took them forever to clean a table for us. The server couldnt remember the order of 3 dishes and 2 teas, came to us 3 times asking to repeat it and still messed up. Would not recommend

Ordered a so called "goat cheese salad" just because I was recommended by one of the staff guys to have it if I was really hungry, they are bigger portions, he stressed. The salad I received should be called arugula salad and not goat cheese, just two small pieces of goat cheese and a bunch of leaves that shouldnt even be called a meal. Overpriced and small portions.

One of the better Le Pains for breakfast or brunch. The food is good and consistent and this is my favorite place to get soft boiled eggs in the city. Personally, I think open faced sandwiches are a travesty but if you ask they will kindly provide the top piece of bread making all of their tartines into something a little bit more manageable.

I dont like to sit at communal tables so have to wait for a table for 2 when I come for breakfast. There is no privacy and you cant really have a conversation. Coffee isnt so great which always surprises me. They dont serve omelettes so I eat a fritatta which is normally overcooked. But its pretty and the staff is nice

The pastries here look amazing. This La Pain Quotidien doesnt feel like a chain cafe/bakery. The large interior is expertly laid out and decorated to make it feel cozy. Outdoor seating is available during warm months. Food is delicious, but somewhat pricey for the portions (kinda expected, its the UES).

I bought a coffee. I wanted to have a sit. The lady in the cashier machine didnt let me. Showed me a standing coffee on the go place. You could have explained it first. Im MD with two PhD. I had to do a lot of research that day. Ruined it. Ill never go back. Lucas.

the GRILLED CHICKEN COBB was horrible, it had 3 tiny pieces of chicken and sprinkles of egg. Also there wasnt any avocado they told me they ran out.. you will leave hungry if you go to this Le Pain.

A bit over priced, but nice attention to detail and food was lovely. Yes the seats arent extremely comfortable or private but the look of the place is better than a lot of breakfast bars around it.

Not a bad lunch/brunch. Prices are a little high but the food has a fresh quality to it. Not a ton of options, but what is there is good. Service can be a little slow, but friendly.

Very messy, rushed atmosphere, tables are very close together making it difficult to get to tables. But worst of all, soup and quiche were COLD and served all at once.
