This is an honest review. The place isnt bad but it needs some major overhauling. There is an extremely long wait to order your food on the weekend with only one ordering location like a fast-food restaurant. During busy time the line goes out the door. When you pay the give you a receipt with a place to add your tip. But, you havent been served yet. You have to go find your own seat. The food is decent but there isnt much crepe competition in Kansas City. I think it is just a trendy place for hipsters. They put on the illusion of gourmet and healthy cooking. My wife ordered orange juice and it was poured right from some cheap plastic gallon. It wasnt even a named brand. The crepes were thick and overdone. If they would implement a traditional restaurant set up with servers I think it would streamline the experience more. It would also help with tipping. The can still have the order at the bar location for to go meals or people who just want a drink. I think a lot of people walk right past this place because the line. I would concentrate on getting people sat so the line appears shorter. I am sure this will streamline the process and reflect in better tips because of the increased one on one time with the customer. Personally, we tried it once. We wont be coming back. I am an honest reviewer. I post tons of reviews. If anyone has a question about this review I would love to enlighten them on my opinion. Have a good day.

Owner is not kid friendly. While having breakfast with my family, my daughters were innocently looking at the flowers, that apparently are way more expensive than the four meals we just paid for, and drinks we had, and they picked two of them, as any kid would. This apparently was unacceptable behavior for a 2 and 5 year old. So unacceptable in fact that the owner felt the need to come tell us that she "would prefer if they didnt pick the flowers, I put a lot into them, I am owner ". That would be no problem if my child wasnt startled by her and lost her grip on the handle bar and causing her to fall over into the railing. Not only did this cheap-flower-loving "owner" cause her to fall, she continued to tell us about her precious two dollar flowers after she saw my daughter fall and hit her head extremely hard, didnt help her up, didnt ask if she was ok, but continued to tell us about her hard work she put in her dollar store flowers. Thanks for the great experience. Your hard work has apparently not paid off since you cant afford decent flowers. Good day, I said good day.

Today was my first visit to Chez Elle. The crepes were delicious but the customer service could have been better. The worker who took my order, of 2 crepes (1 savory, 1 sweet), at the counter put it in wrong. When my order came out I was given 2 sweet crepes, the one I had ordered and another one that I hadnt, and no savory crepe. I talked to another worker who simply went and found the ticket with my order on it and said that I had ordered what I got but didnt offer to correct it to what I actually ordered. The mishap couldve easily been avoided had the worker at the counter repeated my order to me to make sure it was right but she seemed too distracted by her phone to say anything else to me other than my total. I thoroughly enjoyed the crepe that I had ordered, but left a little disappointed because of the mishap. I look forward to visiting again, and Im hopeful that my next experience at Chez Elle will be better than my first.

First time there, so we really wanted to like the place. We were really disappointed instead. The women who took our order was fun, she was the only bright spot. The lattes were good, but lukewarm. The Suisse crepe and the Bon Jour crepe had hardly any ingredients. The temperature of the crepes seemed as if they had been sitting on the counter for a while. We spent $23 and dont believe we got our value for the money spent. Dont sit near the back right corner, otherwise youll have employees going in and out getting paper supplies letting the cold air in and door slamming. By the way, since I couldnt help but see the storage room, you should make room on the shelves for the paper supplies and get them off the floor. As we were leaving we looked at everyone elses food and it looked so much better. Not sure why our food experience was so different. The place is attractive and the art is a nice touch.

Excellent ambiance! Upon approach youre sure to get in the mood of being in the heart of Paris. For me personally, the food was horrible and bland. It had absolutely no taste. Im a really huge egg lover and my eggs were just so tasteless. Its so very hard to go wrong with eggs. Another thing that annoyed me (besides having to stand in the long line to order as if youre at a truck stop) was when I seen her get a gallon of Roberts orange juice to poor me a glass. Here I am paying $2+ for a small french glass of orange juice and she pulls out a $3+ gallon of Roberts. Ohboy! Also, the owners and staff appear to all be Hispanic, which is fine. Its just... well its a french themed restaurant. I just think its something strange about it is all.

An Amazing Kansas City Creperie This morning, we ate brunch at Chez Elle Creperie Coffeehouse. Not only was it amazing, but it was also located in the up and coming Westside neighborhood at 17th and Summit. Chez Elle is located in the renovated Summit Theater building, location of the first movie theater in Kansas City that showed movies with sound. I highly recommend the Bonjour crepe filled with bacon and cheese, and topped with scrambled eggs. Chez Elle has wonderful French decor, an interesting history, an urban neighborhood, wonderful food and “coffee that just makes me happy!”

Every kind of crepe you could imagine. This is a great brunch place but is very busy on the weekends. There is a wait and you order and pay before you sit. You seat yourself and get your own water at different stations. But they make your crepes to order and bring them to your table. It is a small place, so I dont recommend going in a large group unless you are ok with sitting at separate tables. There is outside seating and the atmosphere is fun. The food is amazing. This is one of my favorite brunch places in Kansas City.

Really cozy place to eat, especially on the Sunday morning. They have some nice outdoor seating and a large indoor area too. There is a shelf of board games to entertain yourself while you wait. The crepes were good. The Monsieur was a lot of food and was very filling. The Glace was a sweet, straightforward crepe. It was "some assembly required", not put together like the Monsieur. Overall, the food was tasty and seemed like a popular place and it was a good experience.

Great breakfast spot. We managed to get in a little before the rush and ordered a nice selection of savory and sweet crêpes. The savory crêpes were tasty and filling, a nice balance between the intense filling and the lighter flavor of the crêpe. The sweet crêpes were also quite wonderful, more than we needed, but we didnt want to stop. The coffee was also fantastic, rounding out the meal nicely.
