I have visited this places several times, but never done a review on it, plenty of choices on food, i usually go for the sushi and hibashi, sushi is limited on selection and just above average, but the hibashi really have a good selection of veggies and meats, this brings me to the bad part of this place: "the hibashi cook", this particular one shows so much hate toward customers, it is amazing how places likes this cant figure out that customer services can improve the experiences of their customers, i dare to tell the hibashi cook, that he looks like a happy person, jeje, just to have a death stare back at me. What i really wonder is, how safe we as a customers are in places like this, we dont know if he takes the rage and frustration of his work on the food he is preparing. Must like it the case. Serves are also on the moon, but like i say, i cant judge the reason why?, because only they know what their lives as an inmigrants, with poor knowledge of the languages and long hours of work are doing to them, or.... Its just their poor training in customer services. Male cashier equally rude also. Over all, this place needs a complete change of employes to even consider a shot on getting better reviews. Please comment on this subjects, we pay and have the right to better services, and it doesnt matter if the plate cost 10 dollars or 100, tks

We come here for fast lunch about 2:30. The foods are just OK here but the service is absolutely the worst Ive ever seen. I travel along the south coast from CA so its my first time here. Most of the foods are OK but some are not fresh as Its easy to tell the salads and deserts are definitely left from last night. The service is very bad. When we arrive it is not busy at all but the waiter lead us to the farthest table while a lot of the closer tables and booths are empty. After finish no one gives us check so I walk to desk to pay cause we are in hurry. the cashier may think We are tourists from China and dont speak English so he speaks a very low voice that I cant even hear it. I beg his pardon and He say a little louder that he requires my tips and asks me to tell him how much tips I want to pay!?so that he can proceed. He is so rude but I still keep calm and say allow me to think about it. He refuses to print the receipt and shout out loud "I need the tips before I proceed!" Well, then you got the answer, zero!! Ive been to hundreds of Chinese buffets and paid tips every time but this service is absolutely ridiculous and not worth the tips.

I finally mastered chop-sticks! I was in Okinawa 15+ years ago...my son tried to teach me how to use chop-sticks then to no avail. Today...at The Ocean Buffet...I mastered the technique...interestingly I think the great food at the buffet tasted extra good when I ate with chop-sticks. :0) My husband Tom cheered me on but used a fork. The buffet had sushi, a hibachi grill and 6 other food stations as well as deserts. The food was tasty and offered a large variety of Chinese and American foods to enjoy. The perfect ending...the price was quite reasonable. We went to The Ocean Buffet again today (10-20-16) Beautiful, large Koi swimming in the lobby pool. So much food...an awesome variety...tasty, hot, colorful and appealing. Reasonably priced with the senior discount...total $15.26 for 2 buffets and 2 glasses of ice water (we dont drink soda) My only complaint...rips and tears in the cushions in the booth...difficult to sit on in shorts

Been here a couple times always been good. Usually i go later though. Got there early today thought "great! Itll be all got and fresh!" Sadly, no. The crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, egg rolls, and set and sour chicken were all cold! Not just not hot/warm, but actually cold. Like they fried them last night and stuck them in the fridge and put them in the warmer to get warm. The taste was the same, just cold. Not thrilled this time. Wasnt horrible, as some other things were fine, like the spinach turnover and the garlic shrimp. Waitress was good, kept our drinks filled.

Writing honest, negative reviews does NOT come easy to me. But that is not the case this time. The restaurant had a weird moldy smell when I walked in, and every bite of food I had tasted like strange, old socks. I was completely grossed out and had to stop giving the benefit of the doubt with other items I put on my plate to try. I tried staying optimistic, but after continually spitting out food into my napkin, and looking at my partners nauseated expressions, I knew it was time to cut our losses. $10 for an all you can eat buffet.. guess you get what you pay for.

La comida estaba muy rica, pero la atención fue mala. Los empleados son amargados les das las gracias y no responde. En pocas palabras eres amable y son indiferentes. Sabemos que es un trabajo duro pero no se nos pueden hacer sentir incómodo en el lugar.

i thought we were walking into a premium hibachi grill, only to find t was only an average chinese buffet with an average selection of food. i also found that in place of mounted televisions, there were cheap paintings of the sea, which did not thoroughly entertain me. i also conducted a thorough review of both the men and womens bathroom (dont ask) and to be put shortly, youd be better off in a porta potty. but the alfredo tasted like it came from walmart and was heated up with a car engine

I have been out to the Ocean Buffet several times with family and friends and I have enjoyed it each time. As far as regular American fare, they dont have a large selection. But thats to be expected I suppose. After all, it is an Asian restaurant. But, if you take the family, dont be surprised if not everyone can find something they like. Though they do have plenty of mild things on the buffet, most of the choices are little bit exotic for the average American.

My husband and I finally tried this place out after passing by it a lot of times. Out of all the Chinese buffets weve tried in the past this place (Ocean Buffet) is by far the best. Our waitress was "on point," as my husband would say. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because there is always room for improvement, but the food is delicious. I highly recommend it. I can not wait to treat my family here when they come to town to visit.

One of my favs in Ocala! HUGE variety of fresh foods, prepared in many styles: cooked, fried, baked, raw, Chinese, Japanese, American... and sooo inexpensive! One $9 ($8.49 + tax) plate full of veggies and fish, plus a few pieces of sushi, and hot tea, followed by a small dish of their yummmm Green Tea Ice Cream & 1 Almond Cookie fills me up! Lots of seating, but if youre there after 1230p, expect to wait! Parking is adequate.
