Mediocre Mexican.... and total tourist trap. Ok so anyone writing a rave review about the food here has obviously never experienced really good Mexican Food and decent service. While the decor at Casa Tina is really well done, the food is sub-par and lacks real flavor. The tortilla chips are horrible, too thick, too hard and taste burnt. The Guacamole lacks salt, and is very bland. The Salsa/Pico de Gallo they give you in the little black cups would be ok however they cut the tomatoes TOO THICK and too chunky! Hello... Salsa 101 class. Your salsa sucks!! Black beans tasted canned, and chicken burrito was lacking any type of Mexican flavor. Really not impressed at all. Now lets move on to the service, or lack of. This place is in desperate need of a real General Manager that knows how to train service staff to be attentive, and friendly. After being seated we sat for 15 minutes before a very stone faced latin girl dropped a basket of overcooked Tortilla Chips and inedible chunks of tomato salsa on our table and ran away without even a hello. 5 minutes later, a guy came to our table and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Not a good start for our first and last visit. The servers here lack personality, basic server skills, and look like very untrained and clueless. When we finally got to place an order, total of 25 minutes after we were seated, the food came out about 15 minutes thereafter, normal time in any restaurant from order to table. The food was terribly disappointing to say the least. The sad thing is that they are located right in the heart of downtown Dunedin, a tourist hot spot so that can lure in enough business to make a living serving volumes of people theyll likely never see again sub standard Mexican food. There is jut no way anyone with even 1/2 of there tastes buds functioning and 1/2 the patience of saint would ever return to this restaurant for a second visit. A total disappointment on all accounts, other than the eclectic funky pseudo-mexican decor. Additionally the music the play through the sound system is really bad and unbearable. Mediocre food, really bad service, and music to drive you mad... do yourself a favor... dont waste your time or money at Casa Tina..plenty of other choices on Main St Dunedin with much better food.

Casa Tina is medium sized lively place in Dunedin to dine at. I went on a Saturday night nearing the 8 oclock hour. I got set immediately with my girlfriend outdoors on the patio! There is an extensive menu for the drinks. They used top shelf liquors $9-$12. Our server was overbooked with customers and she was rushing around but managed to bring us fresh chips and salsa. So we sat with our drinks for a little while and then finally got to order our meal she had the shrimp and fish ceviche $12 I had a white fish sauteed with traditional Mexican pairings $18. Approximately 1 hour later our food finally arrived! Yup we had to wait for a long time and when youre sitting there drinking margaritas good thing I had great company and it was a lively setting. I could smell the food being brought out to the tables near by us as I was drooling smelling the fajitas the quesadillas the nachos the entree dinner plates all passing by us and Im wondering where the hell is our food when will it be brought to us were only two people come on whats the holdup our server made it back to our table maybe twice while she was rushing around it was ridiculous the service Im sorry I was annoyed!! However waiting for food when you are hungry is not a good thing. So my plate arrived and the portion of the fish was very small however again because I was hungry I ignored it I also ignored the fact that my food was cold yup the food was not even hot but I ate it anyhow my girlfriends ceviche was very very good I would recommend that for sure to anybody that goes there you will really enjoy it it is served cold so be prepared. I wish I had said something about the small fish portion but of course after you eat it really fast because youre starving its too late and then trying to get the servers attention + sending it back to the kitchen equals another 15 or 20 minutes of waiting if youre lucky. The price of the meal with a couple of expertly crafted margaritas each was around 50 bucks tip that I left for the server. So if the owners are reading this review of mine right now I think you should treat me to come back there to eat again. Just saying!

Please, we have been long time customers but our last visit which was 5/9 at 8 pm....we get the impression that the expansion has turned what was nice, slow, homecooking into assembly line quick-get-them-out-the-door type of an experience. Our reservations were for 8, we got their a little early, were seated right away, and with appetizers and a full dinner, we found ourselves heading out the door at 8:30 on the dot - I am NOT exaggerating. We remember all those times we would go and it would be a while before the food would come out - even the menu used to warn about waiting for true homemade goodness. And the food definately showed that it has been prepared way ahead of time and sitting under or in some kind or warmer. My fish tacos were so incredibly dry and non-seasoned, I couldnt finish the second one. Husbands dish - beans were cold. But having the main course come out right on top of appetizers....part servers fault, we know. There was a party of 15 in table next to us...they ordered same time as us and their food came out just as quick - how is that possible with such a large table and a jammed house? Only if all the food is already in steamers just waiting to be scooped out. For shame, Javier...please go back to your original restaurant ideal...we never minded waiting for that wonderful food that came out!

I had a bad experience Sunday afternoon when i walked into your restaurant. It was not busy & there were no lines and nobody was waiting for a table. I stood in front of your hostess & a blonde haired gentleman possibly a manager. Instead of acknowledging me and seating me they decide to have a full on conversation between the two of them while I just stood there. I waited thinking theyd eventually seat me, but apparently there conversation was much more important. I then just sat on the bench. I could not believe they decided to continue there conversation as i sat on the bench waiting to be greeted and seated. It wasnt until after they finished there lengthy conversation that I was even acknowledged. I was extremely upset and angry by how I was completely ignored and disrespected right in my face. I did let our server know. She offered to get the manager, I told her to pass on the word as i believe your manager was the one having the conversation with the hostess. As many times Ive been to your restaurant I have never had anything like this happen to me.

Worst Chicken my wife and I have ever tasted at a restaurant. She had a Taco salad with chicken and I had Chicken Fajitas. The chicken in both meals was bland tasting and had a “rubbery” consistency. It felt like chewing on a nerf football. It reminded me of the huge bags of cheap “chicken” I would buy back in my college days to mix in with Ramen Noodles. Seriously, it was that unappetizing. As we were leaving the place we noticed the restaurant across the street was a lot less “flashy” but certainly had a lot more people in it. We should have taken the hint. However, the staff at Casa Tina’s was nice, slow but nice, and the atmosphere is pretty neat. A lot of cool and interesting stuff to look at with a very well stocked bar. Casa Tina’s is definitely aimed at Tourists. The place is full of eye-candy and catches your attention as you stroll the walks of downtown Dunedin, but you will receive bland, cheap food.
