First time here, havent really had Indian food too much in my life but I really enjoyed the food. Its a odyssey to go from the parking lot to this place. The interior is very nice, incredibly spacious. Good for a date. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Both were very exceptional. The chicken was moist and it was very flavorful, I didnt grow tired of the taste even if that was the only thing. we ordered. The garlic naan was super bomb, it was made to order, baked fresh. Probably the best I ever had. The tikka masala also comes with rice, but it was easy to get tired of. The waiters were attentive, my water got awkwardly refilled like 5 times within 20 minutes even when I didnt drink too much, but hey at least someone is filling it up. Overall the food was pretty good, I definitely recommend getting two garlic naans next time. You cant ever go wrong with the tikka masala either and for someone who doesnt usually like Indian food, I highly recommend this on the list.

I have visited this place several times and have loved the food there. I decided it was time I give back to the community with a short review. First, let me talk about the ambience. The interior of this restaurant is great and cozy. The seating is well spread out so you are never in another persons face. Also the tables are big enough to accommodate the several platers of dishes you will probably order. Second, the food is delicious. I have tried both their Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes on several occasions and they havent disappointed yet. Its so good that I order more so that there would be leftovers to keep me sated the next day. Finally, service is ok, not good but not bad either. On one occasion, we had to wait for almost 30-40minutes for our order to arrive. Just for the service, I remove one star. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this place if you are not in a hurry and crave for really delicious Indian food.

Ordered from this place 4 times already ..always want to take pictures of the food before digging in but always forget some how...nice portions ..the guy taking order over the fone understands what you want ...yeah I want it scorching hot.. Mild is just not as good..but unless you are used to it ..be warned. I always get chicken tika marsala.. Have tried other stuff also ..but chicken tika marsala is it for me..I asked for xtra rice ..some garlic naan to mop up the sauce ..wash it down with some cold beer.. Nothing better. They take card and delivery is about 45min. I come home from work. Call in my orders then go shower ..once I m out ..food is here. I just have to make sure to wrap my hair up since curried scented hair ...not a good thing ..open ur Windows when u get down to chow...curry wafts every where ..lol..enjoy!! Addition : dont call on Fridays for delivery..They wont if its too busy .

I feel bad having to write a negative review but the other negative reviewers are not lying. i ordered chicken tikka masala to go. on my first bite into the chicken i tasted the unmistakable taste of frozen chicken that had been thawed. The sauce could not hide that taste. the sauce itself tasted a little watered down and like it was missing spices. They managed to also burn my naan. The guy was nice enough but it just was not quality food. You know when a place cuts corners by taking away here and there and choosing lower quality meats. Natraj down the street on 2nd is way better. The difference is clear.

I love Indian food!!!i Have to get my fix!! Always ready, Kamal Palace is a very good and satisfied my need for some curry. They have an extensive menu with full dinners and sides. I go for mild , but would like to work up to medium when I grow up. I loved the pakoras and naan , the tomato soup was nice n spicy!! I liked the location in long beach , with Los Al bay flowing by the patio. They had a large crowd and were efficient with the service. There is also a buffet. Outside dining and comy inferior . Just writing this is making me hungry.....again ! Its perfect for Vegetairians like me.

Ambience: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Finally some different food taste. Real Indian spice flavor. The service was pretty quick & staff was courteous. Food was really amazing. We ordered Paneer Tikka (must order item), Fish pakoras, Malai Kofta, Chicken Tikka Masala (Chicken was bit hard) & garlic naans. Plenty of seating space as well as parking spots. The entrance is hidden so you have to go down the stairs (right on front of Pier1 Imports). Go left and then take first right and another right. Sign boards are marked with directions to the restaurant.

We walked in late Sunday night so the place was pretty empty. Despite that, the service was okay... Nice people but everything came out slow. It looked as if they were getting ready to wrap things up for the night. So there we were, waiting for our chicken sekuwa and rara gosht and when it came out... WOW! It was unique, spicy, and each bite was a kick in the face with mouthwatering flavors. Overall a SOLID 4 star place (gf says 3.5 because nighttime ambience was lacking).

This guys are wasting a wonderful location for business. Quality of food is 1 on a scale of 10 (10 being Highest). Being an Indian myself and have been eating, cooking food at home, I hope I am helping others. Never try any Biryanis - its nothing but rice with some turmeric and red chilli, NO FLAVOUR of a Biryani what so ever. Roti was hard as it can be. Curry had way too much oil. Do not waste your time & money if you are looking for good lunch / dinner.

We came to Kamal Palace for dinner take-out. Ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb stuffed naan, chicken chaat and veggie samosas. Food was hot and fresh. Very good. They give great portions and 2 of us were able to share, with leftovers for a late night snack. The only downside was that the chicken chaat was not what we expected. It was more like a tangy lemon-y salad; we were expecting a chicen dish. Tasty nonetheless! We will be back to try their buffet.

This is a great date restaurant. Theres plenty to do afterwards with the marina, bookstore and theatre nearby. Im a huge spicy person and have a very high tolerance but if you order spicy here than be prepared to choke on fire. It was unbearably hot, they really mean it here! Always order medium! Also a good place for those that like to stare at themselves while they eat... Youll see what I mean when you get there.

Ive had worse Indian food, though not that much worse. And Ive had more expensive Indian food, though not that much more expensive. But the former was way cheaper, and the latter was way tastier. Avoid this place - theres no reason to go here. Natraj is nearby. Go there instead. (Natrajs service isnt great, but neither was the service here, and at least the food was way better.)

This place is fantastic - If you are unsure of what to get, get ANY version of the tikka masala...I usually go with the lamb and it is absolutely amazing. Lamb is tender, sauce is thick and spicy, YUM. Garlic Naan is always fresh and delicious. The price is a smidge higher than some of the other local joints, but the quality of the food far surpasses them.
