New England Lobster place is the spot to visit if youre looking for large fresh chunks of sweet lobster meat in your roll! The Double Down special, for under $20, is a decent deal since it comes with two whole lobster tails, a nice buttery roll (which you can dice up your own lobster meat and create your own roll), coleslaw, and addicting house chips. The Dressed (light mayo, salt & pepper) Roll is also done nicely and isnt overly drenched in mayo so you can still taste the sweetness of the lobster meat. The Lobster Corn Chowder is flavorful and filled with tiny chunks of lobster as well. Theres also a separate oyster bar where you can order freshly shucked oysters and clams. Service is great and the workers are very quick at cleaning and turning tables around. Outdoor seating is also available, picnic style benches with large umbrellas for shade. Its a kid friendly place and their menu includes hot dogs & grilled cheese sandwiches - there have some water tanks filled with different sized live lobsters to keep children entertained for a bit. Try to make it there for their Happy Hour prices (3pm - 6pm M-F)..lobster/fish/shrimp tacos and $1.50 oysters! Great atmosphere and I love how they use Ball mason jars as their water cups!

The guy helping us out was super cool and was even patient with the really annoy family ahead of us that was arguing so much they left the store to argue some more because they couldnt agree on what to buy. I picked up 4 live crabs at the beginning of crabbing season, 2 lobster tails, 2 lbs of mussels, and jumbo scallops. It was nice that they are willing to break down the mussels when 5lbs is just way too much. The live crabs were very clean, sometimes you get the muddy tasting seafood (not sure why). They pack the live crabs in a box with some newspaper and ice packs on top to keep them alive. on top of that, the rest of my goodies which were frozen. Now the price, the crabs were a bit pricier than what you get charged at the Asian market. The pricing for live or cooked chilled crabs was the same. I would definitely go back for more seafood. Side note - I made crab rolls for lunch that day. I made cioppino the next day (which took several hours), but it was all worth it. One stop shop for good quality seafood

Lobster corn chowder is to die for! After many times coming here, Im hooked on the lobster corn chowder. Definitely a must get! Between the naked and dressed lobster sandwich. I prefer the naked. It comes with a side of drawn butter and a slice of lemon. Who doesnt love butter? The combination of butter and just lobster without any other dressing is delicious. The dressed lobster is also yummy as well. The light mayo brings out the lobster taste. I would pass on the blueberry lemonade and the crab chowder. Love love the oysters. Fresh oysters, but quite pricey. They usually have three different kinds of oysters. Heard that happy hour oysters is a good deal! Its crazy hard to find seating inside or outdoors during the lunch hours on the weekends especially when the sun is out and good weather in the bay. So, come with a group of friends or your significant other, have one person to scout for a table and have the other wait in line to order.

Ive been to New England Lobster a couple times, and its a pretty cool place. Im not the biggest fan of raw oysters, so I got the raw littleneck clams. Theyre succulent and sweet without the snotty texture of oysters. Although I prefer the cherrystone clams at Swan, the clams at New England Lobster were still fresh and delicious. Ive tried the lobster and crab platters here, and theyre both good. I prefer the lobster over the crab as the crab came out slightly chilled. When I have cooked seafood, I like it served warm. Both were cooked well, and the lobster was firm without being rubbery. The crab came out pre cracked which made everything easier. Both were fresh tasting enough so that you dont really need to use the butter. It didnt taste like real butter anyway. It was more like butter flavored oil. The sides like the chips and slaw arent anything notable, but the seafood is good enough for me to come back.

I can confirm that the amount of lobster they place ON their rolls are very little. I paid 25 dollars for the seasonal lobster roll and only had a half a palm full of lobster on the dry roll. The small serving is consistent as well, as all three members of my party had extremely little portions of lobster. Way too overpriced here and you can find better seafood spots in the bay, that are more than your moneys worth. The lobster Corn chowder (small cup $7.00) was good, but no lobster in the soup, just corn bits, and it took 20 mins to get our soup. Mexican colas are a whopping 3.00 In one of the replies by the establishment towards a negative review, it mentioned that the customer should of went back to the server and demanded more lobster for the small amount they were served. Thats ridiculous, and is a testament to a bad restaurant. One star for the cashier, his service was on point.

I never really cared for lobster rolls but after trying one from here, Im in love. The bread they use is amazing, its lightly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They are generous with their lobster, big chunks and its super fresh. Yes, its better than Old Port Lobster Shack in Redwood City. Their lobster corn chowder is basically lobster bisque, it was great too. I just wish it came out hot. Our bowl was luke warm. Why not perfect 5-stars you ask? The service was very slow. We wait 30 mins in line to order then another 40 mins to get our food. Mind you the place was only about 70% full. I also think their menu is very limited in food and drinks. I wish they had a standard soda fountain. I also wish they had steamed clams, fish and chips, and such. Free parking in the back.

Why is lobster so expensive?! Ill never know but I had to treat myself, it was my last few hours in SF. This place is great, it has an atmosphere, character I should say, and thats rare at most restaurants. Yes, everythings pricey but everyone there seemed like they were having a good time and enjoying the food. Oh the food! Tasty, I bet its even healthy. I enjoyed my pound of lobster, with chips, a roll and a sweet, Berry-like coleslaw. Love that they use small Mason jars as cups for drinks - I tell you, character. Only downside I would say, is probably service. The guy at the register was all smiles but I didnt spot a single other one except for the customers. Oh and the tacos are extremely small. Anyway, drop by for a good time and some good seafood. They have a market area too!

Ive been wanting to go here for the longest time and was finally able to go with a good friend of mine! I ordered the half lobster roll and the half lobster corn chowder and shared the crab nachos with my friend. Everything was so delicious even the potato chips! The lobster roll is delusion! Everything just melts in your mouth. I also love the lobster corn chowder, its so creamy and there were good amount of lobster chunks in thr soup. The crab nachos werent the best, I wasnt a fan of the beans. I like how they have Mason jars and a water dispenser for you to self serve. I wish they had ice or the water was chilled. I wouldve given this place 5 stars but its pretty pricey. I definitely wouldnt be able to go here often lol.
