Spent most the day driving and touring the historical missions around San Antonio. Decided BBQ was needed and since Im not a native to the area,I asked the Internet. After seeing this place pop up,looked ok, prices seemed fine, 8 mins later, I step out the car and hit nose 1st by that wonderful smoke smell. Went in to find a place I would describe as wonderfully quirky. Little touches of character all over the place . Stepped up to the counter and the friendliest little woman helped us. I got the 3 meat plate with sausage, lean brisket, pork ribs and sides of potato salad and garlic mashed potatoes. One thing I liked was that it seems that if someone in the kitchen isnt particularly busy, they come look over the cashiers shoulder and start relaying the order. I had enough time to get utensils and wash my hands and my order was up. Food was AMAZING !!! I normally dont get sauce on my BBQ because most sauce flat out is garbage. Their sauce is perfect and they put it on the side and not on the meat, which I love. At some point,a gentleman comes over to see how we were doing and has a casual conversation with us. It didnt feel forced or strained, these people treat you like family !!!!! I have already made up in my mind that I will be stopping in again before I head back to Houston. Do yourself a serious solid and visit this place. Some of the best food and people Ive come across.

Wow! I dont know where to start. The service was spectacular. The cashier was wonderful and deserves a raise because she is the face of the restaurant and I wouldnt be saying how great the service was without her. The lemonade was fresh and perfectly sweetened. I had the turkey, brisket, and pork ribs trio. The turkey was very tasty and moist with a great smoke flavor. The brisket was marbled (my choice) not as much smoke flavor here stick with the ribs. The brisket was a little too much like a beef roast. The ribs were fantastic. They were moist, meaty and full of flavor. They may have been some of the best ribs Ive ever eaten. I am comparing these ribs to even my own home smoked ribs. Lets just say if this place was close to my home. I wouldnt go through the trouble of making them at home anymore. The green beans were actually green. Look at the pictures. Most places get them out of a can or theyve cooked them down for a long time. I highly recommend B & B Smokehouse. Go for the smiles. Stay for the food. Excellent!

Enjoyed the atmosphere, (run down BBQ shack, must be real BBQ kind of joint). Cashier was super nice. Got two rib plates and two beverages and almost totaled $40. Ribs had a nice rub, and BBQ was a good tangy BBQ sauce, if you enjoy sweet BBQ youll be disappointed. Ribs in all honesty were tough and really could not find a good bite of meat. French fries surprisingly decent. Cream corn was WAY too creamy. Mashed potatoes were too stiff for my liking. I really wanted to like this place because of the reviews and the atmosphere but I can not justify spending $40. I heard the chicken was good and there are other menu Items, but I would steer clear of the ribs/corn. Sorry I couldnt leave a better review. (Not going to try and bug some on duty manager to complain about food quality to price ratio, not a big deal)

This used to be THE place for BBQ on the south side, but in the last month or so, something has happened. The chicken is consistently under cooked, and the brisket is just not the same. The beautiful smoke ring that used to accompany it is gone, and the flavor just isnt the same. Gone are the days of knowing your order will be correct without fail, replaced by the need to completely tear apart your order just to make sure they actually gave you BBQ sauce..Also, they removed a lot of the little specials like the 2 chicken tacos for 1.99, and while I will not complain about prices raising, I will about the quality of food dropping..I hope this place returns to its old glory, but until it does, I will not be returning..

Called early to place order for our work lunch I had 4 separate orders "manager" stated "I cant do separate orders" I asked why he wasnt able to do the orders separate? He then began to ask me "How would you feel if you were the person behind you waiting for someone PLAYING with 4 different cards!" He was very rude. I called in the order as soon as they opened due to us working at a very busy hospital and only having a few minutes for lunch. He was not able to accommodate anything, For him being the "manager" I would of expected better customer service.

I am surprised this hasnt made it to any 10 best lists. B&B is a serious contender against just about anything around San Antonio. Had always been a Texas Pride fan, but this place has won me over. BBQ brisket and chicken (white meat) was tender and juicy. Pinto beans are homemade and wonderful. Coleslaw creamy and crisp. Owner Bruce came out and introduced himself to us. He was very nice and had a true desire to make sure your BBQ met your expectations. Will definitely be back!

Everything we tried was top rate. Brisket, chicken, potatoes, green beans, slaw............ Jesse was fantastic and brought us samples of the sausage (which we didnt order) and it was great too. I love the fact that a young military man like Jesse can show how serving his country can turn a life and the life of others around. Keep him around, if you can, he IS going to do great things. We plan on visiting again next time in San Antonio.

The brisket is my favorite! Try the brisket burger with cheese and bacon if you think you can finish a loaded burger. The monster baked potato with your choice of meat is a meal in itself! You will not be disappointed with a "straight out of the can," "mixed with water", "made with no love" side order item. The Texas green beans, cole slaw, potato salad, onion rings and fries are obviously made fresh from scratch every day.

You like beef ribs? Go here! Best place in town for beef ribs. Drive thru is iffy. Sometimes the girl at the drive thru is a bit curt, the other day got our order wrong too. But Ive been coming here since I was a little girl and the quality of the food is unwavering so that is why they still have 5 stars, besides, like I said, best ribs in town!! Good sides too, green beans and cream corn, both are yum. Good desserts too.

I had been there once before. Now I remember why I never wanted to go back. Today I had an urge for brisket. I ordered the 3 meat plate, it was horrible! Brisket had no marbling and was dry as hell. The pork ribs were not fall off the bone, those were tough and dry as well. The sausage was decent but still dry. Honestly, everything looked like it was just reheated. I will never ever be back again. Worse bbq ever.

Im spoiled. Food so good and consistent that its hard to enjoy BarBQue anywhere else. Lean or fatty brisket, just tell them what you want. Pork & Beef Ribs, always moist smoked chicken. Sausage, burgers, its all good. Even the potatoe salad rocks! Ive been coming for years and have met folks who drive from all over town for B&B, I work nearby so like I said Im spoiled.
