I am a medical student who has loved Rhino as a regular spot for quite some time - the atmosphere, vegan options, beverage options and music selection. It has been my go-to for necessary coffee, lunch and bringing home wine/beer after a few hours of studying at their location. Unfortunately, it was made very clear to me today the truth of them not being welcoming/friendly to all customers. I was dressed casually compared to all the business men/women and had several textbooks laid out at a table with my laptop. I was settling in about to go order my usual for lunch when a staff member came up to and bluntly informed me I had to moved because I could not take up a table - her reasoning was that I was obviously alone and I had my study material out. She stated other people could utilizing the table. Astonished at the blunt intrusion, I could immediately tell she was targeting me as a student considering I evidently saw other business persona eating alone at tables. I informed her I was just about to grab myself actual lunch and a coffee (I had sone food with me considering I body build and eat every 2 hours), but she repeated that she needed me to move. My fiance works as a designer across the street at and is a regular customer with other employees during his lunch hours. He was the one who forst introduced me to Rhino. I called him as I was packing my materials away to inform him of this rude exchange. Respect, understanding and courtesy to all customers is appropriate - this is coming from someone who worked in the service industry for years. We both will not be returning to the establishment.

Love this place! Great breakfast burritos and sandwiches for lunch. The atmosphere is also awesome. One complaint I have and Ive talked to some friends about this as well is when we call to get a to go order (as we live in the neighborhood) and one specific older woman answers the phone she is always upset that we called the cash register and not the deli. "Youve called the cash register not the deli!"...If you would like us to call the deli please list that on your website... but I also dont understand why its so difficult for her to place the order! Do you not want the business? Anyone else who answers always just takes our order and is very polite!

This place is one of my favorites. The ABLT is my go-to, but Ive never had anything off the menu I didnt like. Not too crazy about the breakfast burrito... it was strangely sweet to me, so I found myself loading it with hot sauce. Great beer, wine, and local flavor selection -- Im a huge fan of Enderly coffee and Ill often stop here to stock up. Ive taken my family for breakfast, gone many a time for lunch, and Ive spent a few evenings here having a drink with friends too.

I live nearby this little diamond in the rough. Its hard to notice driving by, since its on the backside of a brick burger shop on Morehead but if you are a craft beer/wine/mead fan and enjoy good local breakfast/lunch creations, you have to check this place out. So many choices! and a few tables inside and out to sit down and enjoy. Every now and then they have representatives from local breweries set up inside giving out samples, branded pint glasses and other swag.

I have been there several times with excellent service and atmosphere, but this last time. I was treated like I didnt belong there. Im a person of color other than the some of the people cooking my son and I were the only people of color. The atmosphere felt hostile, and the person at the register wasnt friendly he just stared at my son and I like we were going to steal something. I think Ill go somewhere else to find unique grocery items and beer.

One of my favorite Charlotte spots. I miss living nearby because when we did we never bored of the Rhino. Great staff, always friendly and helpful, amazing food. Best breakfast burrito around, and a bargain especially since I usually enjoy it for two meals since it is so large. Their sandwiches are all so amazing it is really hard to choose a favorite. Great beer selection. They always have at least one dark beer on tap!

This welcoming deli and beer market was opened by the owners of the Common Market, and they definitely got it right. They have a solid selection of bottled and tap beers, which are complimented by delicious sandwiches, snacks, and a friendly staff. After many visits, it has always been clean and well maintained, while keeping its Indie charm. A great place to stop by for lunch or add to your night out.

Rhino Market is my go-to for all things on the west side. Breakfast before work, drinks with friends and family, a solid vegetarian menu. I have to mention that theyll sub veggie options without a problem! The staff is incredibly friendly and know my boyfriend and I on a first-name basis. Theyve even given us treats if they know our dog is outside. Rhino Market is truly a neighborhood staple for us.

Amazing beer and wine selection. Love that you can purchase stuff inside and then sit on their patio to enjoy it. They sometimes have live bands on the patio, very cozy feel to it. They also offer limited sandwhiches and wraps made fresh to order. The breakfast wraps are delicious, and very moderately priced.

I dont understand how this place is getting such good ratings. Its extremely overpriced for an extremely mediocre sandwich, I felt so ripped off, I could have just made it at home and been better off. 8 dollars for a sandwich with no side or drink, it was disappointing and felt like a waste of money

A nice addition to the Charlotte deli scene. Independent eateries like these add interest and character to local neighborhoods. Tasty sandwiches and a good selection of sides and drinks for a quick lunch. The market carries a variety of drinks and snacks to consume onsite or take home.

Rhino is a great place to grab a beer with friends, a snack on the go, or have a fantastic deli sandwich. Seating inside and a large and comfortable back patio make this a great rain or shine hangout spot. With a fantastic beer selection and rotating taps you just cant miss!

This place is well hyped but I found it just alright. The sandwiches are nothing special here after trying 4 of them, and friends agree. The beer selection is good I guess, but nothing you cant find in a grocery store locally. Great for the hip young crowd maybe?

I had a custom sandwich and it was AMAZING. This place had a very hipster vibe, accepts mobile payments, and has a fair amount of beer and wine. The wait was not too terrible, but it was a bit pricey. That being said, the ingredients tasted fresh.

Beer, wine, coffee and snacks offered retail, plus a great sandwich "window" for excellent breakfast and lunch fare. Take home or eat inside or outside. Great little deck. Often live music. The whole world walks through the Rhino every day.
