Well, I live in the Poconos right across the border in PA... Now anyone thats ever visited the poconos knows there really isnt any great food here other than fast food. However I do have a great passion for finding good places to eat when I am on the road making my deliveries and pickups... I found my heaven when I walked into the Market place and saw the absolutely awesome cuts of Steaks they have! Now mind you some of the things they say about the cashier staff not talking or even saying hi may be somewhat true, but i sure am not looking for a conversation with them especially when im starving and eager to slam my Carver sandwhich down my throught... Ive never had to wait in line... Perfectly professional and to the point EVERY time I go in there, which is just about everytime I head home on 206... Never tried the buffet.... YET.... Yea steaks can be pricey but my god I would much rather go 27 miles instead of going all the way to a meat purveyor in NYC! I cannot find meat as good as this anywhere in PA. And ive never had scallops sweeter or as great tasting! Butcher staff is amazing they have no problem moving meat over for me to take a look at whats underneath... (I go for the darker red ones, try that!) The deli ladys are so sweet and 1 or 2 of them I would even consider very attractive ;) To all the bad reviews on the Market Place, We all have our opinions and so do I! I love it and will keep comming back 100 more times! Check it out for yourself!!! also a nice selection of other hard to find ingredients...

This place has gone down hill as time goes on... it is trying to sell too much and the quality is dipping.. the buffet lunch use to have a nice a different selection everyday, now it seems like it is the same stuff everyday, not a large selection, and the quality is poor. Sad thing is the WORST part of this place is the lady at the checkout counter, if she is even there when you want to check out... She is extremely slow, rude, and allows a long line to form often without any sense of urgency...EVERY TIME I GO THATS WHAT HAPPENS, even when the food was decent I hated going because of the checkout.. i dont know if she is the owner, but if she is, i can see how this place is going downhill...one time i was even waiting for a check out and she had her back turned to me talking to a kid that works there and the young girl had to tell her that there is someone waiting...even then she kept her conversation and ignored me...sad there isnt alot of places to get lunch around here other than fast food but this place is not good...oh, and its over priced.

Steer very clear of this place, it is sooo bad. I have lived in Roxbury on and off for the past 10 yrs., visited this place multiple times. The prices just keep getting higher, the food was good on one occasion, the seafood should be replaced withg new anlong with the staff. The meat selection is on par with Shoprite up the street. This places parking lot used to be PACKED but I guess others are catching on as well. This place is another attempyt by a local business an to appeal to the upper crust of Roxbury. Probably the same guy who opened the BMW motorcycle shop in Ledgewood only to see it eventually crash and burn because of poor marketing, customer service, management. If your like me working in Manhattan and commuting to Netcong everyday let us face it this place is a rinky dinky scamming dive compared to The Grand Central Market.

Im so disappointed in the customer service at the Market Place. Ive always experienced rude staff at the deli counter, especially from the older employees - not friendly at all and so impatient. Today I walked in to purchase a few pounds of filet mignon and burgers but I was ignored because I was on my cell phone. I get it, some people are ignorant and dont pay attention to the staff causing a back up when there is a line. However, there was NOONE at the butcher counter waiting to be helped except for me. As I was being ignored and flagged the butcher over, he said "sorry, we have a no cell phone policy". I then put down my cell and he continued to ignore me. I walked away and they lost my business and money today and forever. My bill was going to be AT LEAST $100 in meat.

So many options you will be overwhelmed, everything is delicious though expensive. Do not expect to leave this place without dropping$ 60.00 or$ 70.00 dollars. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Butcher, fishmonger, and deli staff on premises as well as a sommelier excellent choice of wines, bakery, and gourmet chocolates as well as imported foods and coffees. Make this place a once a week treat as it is dreadfully expensive but I promise well worth it.

The hamburgers and choice quality of meat is unbeatable, and not found else where in the area. The prices are a little high but the quality of the meat and seafood matches the price. The staff is not friendly and they are mean to thier employees. Besides that if you want a good burger with an amazing potato salad its the place to go.

Shop there when I need premium cuts of meat for special dinners. Have used them for our Christmas feast/dinner - this is the 10th year; they never disappoint. Brian is always accommodating, and will try to fill orders for items that are not on their menu. The food is always excellent, especially their Jack Daniels ham.

I had soup there and it made me sick. I gave in another shot with a pricey sandwich and it also made me sick. I tried the salad bar and that was OK but some leaves were dirty. Also the employees were extremely SLOW. The upside is that the coffee is good and they have a variety of drinks to choose from.

Can get a snack or a whole meal! Love the premade half-sandwiches for $3 when in a rush. Went in several times and came out with dinner for the night. Chocolate crumb cake (in a plastic bag) is to die for. Great selection of items not normally found in supermarkets.

This is the worst place to eat. The food is not fresh, the owners were incredibly rude to our friends and the atmosphere is nothing to write home about. I guess if you want to waste your time and money then this is the place to be.

Fantastic food and drink offering. Unique gourmet packaged foods and awesome housemade salads, baked goods, deli sandwiches and salads, hot buffet, and fresh meals to go. House made jerky is a must try!

Some foods are great. Lobster salad is special and so are the fresh meats. However I rarely go anymore. Help is rude and arrogant. If they treated their customers better I would be there weekly.
