We have been co-op members since 1997 and I think overall the quality of food and service has decreased in this time. Given how large this East side store it, it is very annoying when there are boxes in the aisles and that these aisles seem so narrow. Now that theyve stopped selling gardening supplies I keep hoping they will turn some of that space into more space for groceries but instead they seem to be expanding the cafe. They need to expand because as organic and local foods are making inroads to the bigger chains like Kroger, the prices at Bloomingfoods is more and more expensive. Union or not, if I can buy the same products at another unionized store for 20% less or even better, Im going to the bigger store.

I am a loyal BFoods customer and have been since I moved to Bloomington 7 years ago. For a long time they were EXCELLENT with great selection, fantastic staff, and good quality control. Unfortunately in the last 18 months or so they have turned the other direction, with the above mentioned points going down hill. While I know they have been redoing their business model, and going through a hard time, it is hard to support them as adamantly when they are routinely out of half my shopping order, the cashiers are not as well versed as the former ones, and food that should have been pulled off the shelves isnt discovered until I get home on a regular basis. I REALLY want to give this place 5 stars, but I cant today.

The east side Bloomingfoods has a few things no other store in Bloomington has, which is the main reason I go there (I live closer to the west side store). This is the largest B-foods in town so theres a good selection and good produce. This is also where the tent sales are located. The staff are helpful though there are occasional errors in checkout. Their hot bar is not as good as the west side store and the hot stuff needs to be hotter. So that area could be improved. It can get very crowded and hard to move around when they are busy.

Stopped in here for lunch. I purchased an overpriced salad bar plate. $12 for what I had wasnt worth it. The produce was good, but just too much for what I made. The "system" of picking up what you want and then paying for and then finding your drink and a table was just damn awkward. I was stared at by several employees, one of which made the remark, "first time here?", then laughed and walked away...Yeah, first visit and my last. I heard this four chain market & deli was going belly up...no wonder.

Its sad to see this store change so much for the worst over the years, especially with such fond memories working here in the past. The hours gap for the hot bar is frustrating if you forget about it being a thing for one, and why has the juicer not been replaced after such a long time? Some of my favorite gng items are highly inconsistent or retired from the rotation as well. I know a lot about the admin issues over the past few years, but even just appearance wise things seem to be getting worse still.

What I love most is how delicious the deli sandwiches are. They use wholesome and fresh ingredients in all of their products. The natural ingredients really make everything delicious. Also, the soft drinks make a tasty addition to the meal with a great tasting obscure selection. The grocery selection is unique and all high quality. I would recommend if you want to shop with a regard for the ingredients in your food.

Venerable local co-op provides excellent variety of locally and/or organically sourced health food and specialty items at decent prices. Interior can feel cramped but is extremely efficient. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The deli/butcher counter offers many deliciously hand prepared hot food items. Plentiful seasonal items including garden plants, flowers, growing equipment, etc.

The deli had an array of good-tasting, reasonably priced vegetarian and vegan options as well as a well stocked salad bar. I thought the quality of the food at the hot bar was rather poor, especially considering the price, but the deli alone earns them a 4 star rating as far as Im concerned - Its one of the only places I can go in town for a quick, affordable vegan meal.

The produce rocks! Today it was sweet strawberries and Indiana Peaches!!!! I can grab great things from the deli that would take me hours to make - and Im free from salads with sugar put into them...even with the newer "organic" stores in town, Bloomingfoods offers fresh, really local and handmade quality foods.

Local grocery store that has been hurt by the bigger chains coming in. Lots of interesting local products, but the prices are higher. The salad and hot bar are good, the indiana beer they do have is usually better priced than big red, and they have a good selection of grass fed or free range meat.

If youve never shopped at Bloomington I just have one thing to say: Shame on you! They have great healthy food options, very fair prices, and extremely friendly employees. And most important of all, they are a local business! Be sure and try the cafeteria/restaurant/foodbar.

Bloomingfoods is a great co-op with lots of organic and vegan options. A lot of foods are more expensive here, so shop wisely if you are on a budget. They also have hot foods and baked goods for those looking for a delicious and healthy meal for the road.

I used to shop here every other week (full grocery run $$$), but they dont carry much of my priority items anymore. And oddly for a co-op, I have trouble finding vegan options here. Longtime member...heartbroken.

I love BLOOMINGFOODS! Been a customer since it was just the Kirkwood Shop, but the prices have become more competitive over the years. I still shop around, but sometimes B-Foods even beats Mal-Warts LOL

Excellent breakfast and very good options on the menu for lunch and dinners. The groceries are usually very fresh and the coffee selection is one of the bests in town.

Absolutely the only place I buy groceries other than the Farmers Market. I love the service, and the whole, GMO free food.
