Kasey lyn, this is fine dinning if you came from a 3rd world country or the slums. DEFINITELY NOT FINE DINNING!! A lot of negative activity occurring around the establishment. The food was ok. The rice was not good and plantains were not ready to be fried. Jerk chicken and cabbage were good. This was my second choice because they did not have certain meats that were on the menu. Also no menu online. Staff does have an attitude and not friendly. A lot of men gathered around and in the restaurant to harass women. Parking is not great and a lot of suspicious traffic in the back alley. Men I did not know tried to rudely direct me where to drive and I almost damaged my car and when I reversed (without the strangers approval) the men outside became hostile. I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE!!

I have never eaten at Montego Bay. Originally, it was a drug store. My father was the first to make that location into a restaurant, Lauras Italian Beef and Sausage, then it was sold and became a pizza joint and a few other things thru the years. At the time my father owned the restaurant, the building was from north to south, a restaurant, hardware store, beauty salon, grocery store, and butcher shop. There were railroad tracks where Georgina Lane is now.Across the street was a White Hen Pantry and a laundromat/ cleaners. Across St. Paul, there was barber shop on the corner. I remember there used to be two bars in that area. Right across the tracks, now Georgina, was Harolds Club, and there was one on the corner of Washington and Bellwood rifght behind the library.

MONTEGO BAY IS A GREAT RESTAURANT WITH A LIVE DJ AND THE DJ ALSO COOKS HERE!! EXPERIENCE BOTH. THAT IS IF YOU DO NOT MIND DRAMA, GETTING HIT ON BY JAMAICAN MEN WHO WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE OWNER, CARRY STDS. THIS INCLUDES THE DJ (THE RING LEADER). AT NIGHT TIME YOU SEE LITTLE MICE RUNNING ACROSS THE FLOORS. I PERSONALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND MONTEGO BAY AS YOUR SELECTION FOR FINE DINNING. IT DEFINETELY IS IN THE HEART OF BELLWOOD. AND IF YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED WHAT BELLWOOD HAS BECOME TODAY TAKE A RIDE THROUGH THE AREA.

This is a awesome authentic Jamaican place to eat! The Jerk Chicken and cabbage is awesome. The jerk sauce with it is great! I loved the rice! The jerk goat is the best. Very good prices! Grant it not the greatest location but during the day be assured you will be ok. Been eating here for a few years. Not really a sit down place to eat. There is tables. The owner and chef are from Jamaica.. To go is the best. Takes a little time for the food but well worth it...Just try it!!!

Ordered to go from Montego Bay Restaurant & Grill in Bellwood Illinois. Super delicious Jerk Chicken! If youre in Chicago you have to check the place out. Bless the guys heart for working extra hard to cook everyones orders. Only one guy on shift. Its a mom and pop type restaurant. Definitely going there again before I leave town! :D

The food is not that good. The rice is horrible , its instant rice with beans. Stew chicken has no flavor. The jerk wings should have been cooked at least 10 more minutes. The ribs should have been cooked longer as well. Sorry it just didnt do anything for us on 8/11/2017 this is coming from a Kingston Jamaican gal.
