Ok so we were super excited to come to this place on our vacation and what a disappointment it was. It is definitely not worth the $8 admission fee even though we didnt even get past the admission troll. It was an older lady who had a lot of attitude and was pissed off at the world. The other staff was nice but this lady was nasty and had the audacity to totally dismiss us within two seconds claiming she had no more space for our party of 6 and that we NEEDED TO MAKE A RESERVATION some time after today. Obviously we were unhappy because we came all the way here and there isnt a sign that says anything about being booked up or needing a reservation. We went to the front and bought some chocolate and the girl that served us was super nice so we asked her to check on the tour and see if there was an opening and it took her two seconds to say YES and that we could be fit in. At that point there was no way in hell we were going to spend $8 per person given the nasty attitude and the lies. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.

Wonderful place with extensive choices/types of chocolates to to choose from. They ARE however extremely pricey...so I would only recommend this place as either :somewhere to go while traveling ; somewhere to visit/stop by at while on vacation; or somewhere to go to at least once in your life!? They are delicious though depending on what youve chosen. I like all of their white chocolate options, the milk chocolate with sea salt and caramel, and the butterscotch liqueur syrup. I almost forgot...THEY ALSO OFFER TOURS!!!! Not sure what the tours are like though, unfortunately we did not have time attend one. Soooo...overall the place is awesome, but the prices are just way to high. The lady who did my checkout told me an an approximation of the price per candy, and also informed me that a lb would be about $44! Yikes!

For the most part, its an informative tour that just MIGHT be highly enjoyable if the tour guide wasnt so grumpy and downright rude. We went 3 years ago-same old man with the rude attitude. Went again last weekend, and had to walk out before it was over because my blood was boiling after hearing his comments not just to my family but others as well-who werent doing a thing wrong. Its past time to replace him. I planned on spending much more than I did in their way overpriced gift shop, but I just got the kids a little treat since they were so good while enduring that mans misery inflicted on us. Ugh. I will never go again as long as he is still employed there. Sad, because Whetstone has a good little thing going if they just hire some decent employees.

we went on the chocolate tasting tour which was pretty fun. after the tour we went to the actual shop to make a purchase and there were about 15 people there at the same time and the employees were doing there best to meet everyones needs. but unfortunately they forgot to put something in my bag and i didnt notice it until we were back at our condo. i called them up and they said if i was willing to come back they would give me the item. i went back the next day and they gave me what i had purchased which was a white chocolate pretzel and they put an additional one in as well for my trouble. but it was nice because they didnt question me or ask for a receipt.

I ate their chocolate after touring this place and let me tell yaz, I wouldnt hesitate to place my own life in jeopardy to have this chocolate again. And Im a crash test pilot for a living, so you KNOW Ima smash some expensive equipment en route to my destination, you know? Course you know, I just said it! But suriously tho, their sweets make Hersheys taste like a "dog rocket." In fact, youll never eat any other chocolate again after sampling Whetstone. You can try, but mark my words: You. Shall. FAIL. PS: I typed this review while flying corkscrews at 750 mph in a valley. Sweet, huh? OH SH-

Was super hyped to go to this place but let me tell you save yourself the trouble and just go buy a snickers bar from CVS. The lady who is supposed to man the tour entrance has the nastiest attitude. She was rude to everyone including us and proceeded to lie about openings for the tour, which by the way supposedly needs reservations. The other staff was nice but that lady was horrible and bitter. Maybe she needs to take some time off or something. Made the whole experience horrible. Bad experience because of her which sucks because I am a hard core chocolate lover. NEVER going back.

We did the tour and it was cool!!! I learned things about chocolate that I never knew. When you go in to the machine area it is kinda loud but, hello they are making chocolate! The tour guide carries a speaker hooked to a mic so you can hear him describe whats going on. The noisy part is only a short ten minutes of the tour the rest is in different parts of the building. Plus, the best part...you get to try chocolate!!!! I didnt even know I liked fudge until this tour. Great time! Great price!

This is a fun tour and it is interesting to see how chocolates are produced and what all goes into making the different types of chocolate. There is very little walking on this tour, which is great for the mobility challenged. There is a decent amount of taste testing, which is great for chocolate lovers. For the price, this is a decent tour. Bonus - Be sure to keep your tour badge sticker to get a discount on gelato at one of the other Whetstone facilities throughout St. Augustine.

Disappointment I was excited to see the chocolate making process in action and not a single machine was doing anything. The tour guide was nice but he talked way too fast and I couldnt understand half of what he said. I found myself bored and not wanting to stay for the entire "tour" if its even worth calling it that. Just look at my pictures and that will show you the entire extent of what you will see. Save your money on the tour and just buy more of the yummy Chocolate!

The tour is somewhat interesting but having visited the Museum of chocolate most of what I saw I already knew. The company story is interesting, you will be taken through the facilities and see several machines, possibly because it was the last tour of the day, all staff was gone and barely any machine was functioning, They did have a specially designed table for the manufacturing of chocolates that was very interesting, as well as the chocolate shell warping machine.

Pretentious chocolate. I didnt think it was that special. Far too smooth for one and stupidly expensive. The tour is a rip off. "Free samples" ermm no you paid $8 per person so the 5 slithers of chocolate is hardly worth it. With several tours every day they are raking it in. Tired corny jokes told at a snakes pace. Its basically a push to make you but their product. The winery down the road has a free tour and sampling. Stick to Cadbury.

This was a great place for us to stop and kill some time while we waited for our room to be ready for checkin. For $8/person, we learned a lot about the chocolate-making that has been going on with Whetstone and tasted a number of very, very good chocolate samples. Our tour guide, Ty, was enthusiastic and obviously loves what he does. PS- on particularly hot days: it isnt chocolate, but their mango colada smoothie is delicious.
