I really want to love Town House. They display art from local artists, have great live performances, and karaoke with Ryan is always a blast. But my boyfriend and I were 86d. On May 5th 2014 we walked in and I sat at the bar. My boyfriend asked what I wanted to drink and before we could even order the bartender (Dalyn) says to my boyfriend, "No youre 86d." I thought he was joking. After a bit of "Youre 86d." "What?" back and forth we asked why. "You know why dude." At this point I was mortified. There were other people at the bar and this was not a quiet conversation. I couldnt think of any possible reason he could have for wanting us out. We hadnt been in for more than a beer or two in weeks and I couldnt remember the last time wed been there on a Monday night, which is when Dalyn works. He finally told us it was because we had stolen a tin plate from the bar. He accused us of stealing and 86d us in front of everyone at the bar. I felt like I was going to be sick. Over a month ago I had seen the tin on the floor of the sound booth. I thought it was neat and wanted it or one like it, this wouldnt have been the first time Ive bought decor from a bar. I told my boyfriend who in turn asked Dalyn about it. Dalyn told us he would ask the owner and get back to us. That was the end of the exchange. Sometime between that conversation and last night it went missing. Apparently asking about something at the bar is enough evidence to be publicly humiliated and 86d from Town House. We did not steal from the bar and we did not deserve to be treated that way.

I have been going to the Town House for well over 10 years. Its not like everyone knows your name, but the people who count do. The bartenders know you by name and what you drink. Its a familiar place where people care about you, and its rare that you dont have a good time.

My go to spot in the V low key dive bar spot where I can just chill. They have a good juke box and a pool table. Also drinks are hella cheap by San Francisco standards.whether its a weekday or weekend not a bad spot. The bartenders are always cool too.

Cute little dive bar. Only complaint is the jukebox box is super over priced and you have to wait an hour plus to hear the song you paid for. Other than that drinks are good fun employees and even when its packed they get to you quickly.

Wonderfully hospitable community bar. Good drinks poured and served with old fashioned hospitality and a relaxed small town feel. Even my mother (who hates bars) enjoys The Town House.
