Good ingredients and careful control of spices and flavors makes the dishes taste fresher and more subtle than at other Indian buffets. In comparison, many other buffets in the area have reheated and overseasoned dishes that taste too salty and oily, leaving you feeling tired afterwards. Dessert, gajar hawal (carrots), was also excellent. To get a seat, I had to waive down a waiter rather than be asked. Once I was seated solo at the bar, however, service was fine. As lunchtime was packed and their space small, it was quite noisy inside. Located in the Pleasanton Town Center, parking is a bit of a hassle. For my second visit, they had Sooji Halwa, an amazing desert made from Semolina. Even the ubiquitous Tikka Masala had much more complexity of flavor compared to whats found at typical buffets. The buffet definitely emphasizes quality. Fair $11.99 ($13.10) price (buffet lunch every day) with a parking lot out back.

I have moved around quite a lot across US and havent found a single Indian restaurant that offers an experience that reminds me of India. This place is it. The ambiance is great and for some the place might be small, but if you have visited other Indian restaurants in Dublin or Pleasanton, this is by far the best I know. The taste is very nice once you ask them to make dishes somewhat on the medium spicy or spicy side. The Kashmiri chicken, dum biryana is done very well and cooked properly. The achari chicken is great if you ask them to cook it medium spicy to spicy range. The mix grill chicken and the gobi manchurian (medium spicy to spicy range) is great as well. The service is good too. I have never been to a better Indian restaurant for dinner, this one sets the standards that other tri-valley area Indian restaurants need to match.

Terrible service. Was seated by someone who doesnt speak English or is rude and doesnt return a simple "hello," just stares at you like youre dressed in a clown suit, no smile, nothing. Waiter didnt come back to table after waiting 10 minutes, by this time the neighboring restaurants looked good and we decided to go and eat there instead. Unfortunate because we loved Indian food (the Indian restaurant down the street is great) but we cant forgive terrible customer service, even if the food is good. Sorry lost a customer who lives in Pleasanton and loves Indian food.

Ambiance : * Small place with tables arranged too close to each other. * Can get really loud when there is too much crowd. Food : (Lunch Buffet) * Good Part is Lamb dish was really good in taste. * Bad Part is Only Lamb dish was good in taste. * Chicken Curry was too Sweet and Dessert ( Gulab Jamun ) had a bitter taste. * Mutter Paneer had a wired smell. Service: * Unnecessary wait time when tables were available. * It took forever to serve bread at our table * Could have been better. Overall : Decent place but could be better

So for my moms birthday we came here and when they found out one of the waiters in a stroke of genius decided to put "Happy Birthday" with her name using a delicious raspberry sauce on the dessert plate. If you come here, I reccomend the Dum Pukht Gobi, delicious stuff. But spicy too, so if you hate spicy food, go with the koftas. For dessert, go for the lychee panna cotta if you want something cold, but if you want something hot, gulab jamun is probably a good idea. All in all great stuff here.

Far exceeded my expectations! Best Indian food Ive ever eaten, the atmosphere was very relaxing, waiter very pleasant and helpful when asked for suggestions. Prices seemed quite reasonable for downtown Pleasanton. I had the seafood platter, which included grilled salmon and mustard shrimp that was beyond delicious, not to mention healthy. I look forward to returning soon!

Modern decore, really pleasant and attentive waiters. The vegetable samosas are the best Ive ever tasted and Im from England where they love their curries! We also enjoyed Chicken Tikka Massala and Lamb Rogan Josh, which were both delicious! They also have a wonderful selection of desserts. We had Lychee Pannacotta which was really creamy, light and fragrant. Well be back!

Was visiting from out of state and met for dinner here with a friend, so this review is from the perspective of a first time diner: Very tasty appetizers and creamy mango lassi. Friend ordered the mussels which he enjoyed. Ordered the malai paneer with naan, good flavors but the gravy seemed to be a bit watery in consistency. Overall great tasting food!

Food and service were excellent! I would highly recommend the Tandoori Mixed Grill, some of the best chicken weve ever had. Also, we didnt even tell the server it was our fathers birthday but the server noticed by our conversation and a card on the table so he brought a birthday dish out. Very kind and thoughtful! Definitely will be back.

It took them few minutes and finally we were offered an outside table. We refused and as we were walking out we were told we can have the inside table. Either you have a table or you dont. Our food did tasted good but the experience left me little disappointed with the business.

Good and bad experience. 1st the good part. Food is excellent, staff is polite. Now the bad part: 1) slow service , 2) your clothes, bags or anything you bring inside the place will smell of spices forever. I will give them 5 stars if they can fix these things.

Love this place. Great service, good food and nice setting. The only thing thats tricky was my cloths smelling like curry the remainder of the night. food is worth it. But bring a change of shirt if you go out after or on a date. You will thank me.

I was surprised by Frontier Spice. I normally dont like Indian food very much. Our waiter guided me in the right direction and the food was really good. Recommend trying this restaurant if you are looking for a place to eat in Downtown Pleasanton.

Buffet menu is very lame, esp. for vegetarians. Spice levels are ridiculously mellow. Decor is non-existent. Service staff is prompt and polite.
