Ive lived in La Habra for 42 years up Cypress, one block away. This place has been there since I can remember, so they must cater to some sort of class of taste buds, but not mine. Totally bland food. Yes, bland chicken. Bland ribs. I just like the rich flavors and culture of Golden Star 6 lots away, Tommys Chili Burgers with Chili Fries with extra onions on top which is just a minute or two down the street, Mexican food (so, so many of these great restaurants in La Habra), In-N-Out, taquerias, tortillaria, China Station, Blaze Pizza, and Moros Cuban food, ALL IN LA HABRA. Chicken box throughout the decades with many tries is just bland food. If thats your thing because you dont want to try other cultures food or dont like spicy, robust, or gourmet food, then this bland food place is for you. I have an uncle that has to eat bland food due to health issues. This would be the place for him.

The new ownership as of very recent, took over this business from the second owners. They have done everything to bring Chicken Box back to its original glory with one of the most delicious fried (broasted) chicken I personally have ever tasted. They have succeeded!!! The new owner may have surpassed even the original and founder. This chicken is the absolute best!! Congrats to Chicken Box. Well, I guess I will be eating here at least two to three times a week once again. After the last owners took over, they were cooking the same as the original owner and things were good. Then for unknown reasons they started cooking the chicken differently and in my opinion took an award winning delicious recipe and butchered it. The chicken was never the same.

Ordered a chicken sandwich. Got potato wedges instead of fries because they were out of fries. The chicken sandwich tasted exactly the same as the $1 Wendys crispy chicken sandwich. On top of that, the sandwich really wasnt large at all. The potato wedges were quite large, and I only got 3 of them. They were also completely plain. I spent 4.99 for the sandwich, and 2.49 for the potatoes. Overall, 8.10 after tax. The guy at the front also handed me a drink cup, on accident I guess, but I assumed I was charged for a meal because I didnt think I was going to spend 8 bucks. Anyways, I got the unsweetened iced tea, and it tasted old. Overall, not the best experience, and has left me with a stomach ache.

This might be the last time I visit. The mashed potatoes were sour. I called so that they would avoid serving the same potatoes to others, but I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. Then they hung up. When I returned with what was left in the container, the rest was scraped off our plates and put in the trash, the owner accused me of eating them all. I was apalled and offered to return home to dig them out of the trash can. He denied that they were sour even though I overheard a girl take a phone call while I was on hold stating that the mashed potatoes were sour for them too. I cant give my hard earned money to a business that doesnt respect its customers.

I love the chicken. I believe its broasted so the chicken is very juicy yet crunchy on the outside. They cook as you order so it usually takes about 20 minutes. Although I LOVE Broaster Chicken in Montebello, CA & Grandmas Chicken House in Cypress, CA, this is a great alternative. HOWEVER, sometimes, they run out of chicken, which I cannot understand. So we would go to Shakeys when they happens. Call in advance & see if they have chicken before driving down here. The chicken comes with potato wedges and rolls that seem to be grabbed from a bag (not warmed). I do recommend this place, but call in advance.

Been going there for more than 30+ years because its BROASTED chicken NOT FRIED. Do you hear me reviewers? B R O A S T E D, its NOT FRIED. I drive about 25 miles to pick up my order of BROASTED chicken, NOT FRIED chicken. Ive read some of your reviews, of course you should check your order before you leave. Heres a suggestion order the BROASTED potatoes. If you want fried chicken and mashed potatoes, go to KFC. I love this place.

I HAD TO CHECK ONE OF THESE STARS EVEN THOUGHT I DIDNT WANT TO.THE WORST EVER. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME BACK IN ABOUT 4 YEARS IM ANGRY, UPSET AND SICK BECAUSE I ATE THIS FOOD. AFTER EATING THIS FOOD MY STOMACH IS KILLING ME CANT REALLY SAY IF IT WAS THE CHICKEN, MACARONI SALAD OR THE FRIED ZUCCHINI . I HOPE ITS NOT FOOD POISON BECAUSE THAT FOOD WAS A WASTE OF A DRIVE, GAS AND TIME. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like juicy fried chicken with out the overload of batter , then this place is just for you to try out. This place for preference is the best place to order fried chicken . They have a small location a few table outside to eat , but for most its a to-go kinda place . They also have boysenberry juice , so no need to do the drive to Buena Park .

This place is landmark serving great chicken. They do not pick up phone for Monday Special resulting 45 minutes wait. They should not offer Monday lower price of they do not want to offer it to loyal customer. I am very disappointed with new management.
