A good Bartender knows when to cut them off … when to say; “Look my friend, you’ve had enough” Richard Watkins is not just an exceptional Bartender, Rich is a friend who knows how to keep a fun, safe and enjoyable environment not only wherever he goes but in the establishment where more than most people would ever begin to understand. The Blarney Stone is in a very accessible location in Downtown Seattle adjacent to the infamous ‘Pike Place Market which means that on any given evening or night it can get a whole lot of people stepping in for wines and spirits. Of course it’s an Irish Pub so whatever delights your taste and drinking pleasure is most likely in a bottle or can waiting to fill your glass and you already know … Irish people can throw down some food so there better be a menu for food as well (Which there is) but you don’t have to be Irish to have a good time especially when Richard is at the helm. Everyone who works there are extremely good at what they do because the owner, Martha G. makes sure of it. She surrounds herself with not just well qualified employees but great people as well. In other words you have to be a special kind of person to work in this special kind of place. We all know that Bars, Pubs, Lounges and anyplace of the sort are Businesses which means that money has to be made to keep the doors open. However at the Blarney all money ain’t good money. At some drinking spots when a person spends their money and gets too drunk they either put them out or call them a cab but in such a great friendly like environment like the Blarney the customers are treated like family. Unless the person is extremely unruly or gets belligerent, it’s almost like being at home but the only option that they don’t have is to go to bed. Nevertheless they do take good care of their patrons so they can make it home safely to sleep in their own beds. A man was intoxicated but not overwhelmingly drunk; he was slurring his words but it would have taken someone close, a sobriety test or an experienced professional to tell the difference and that was the call which Mr. Watkins made despite the fact that the customer offered a huge tip for one more drink. Richard said to the customer; “It’s not about the money, it’s about you as a customer, be cool, chill out and I’ll grab you something to eat” then the man put a larger number on his offer and Rich said; “My Love and caring for my customers is not for sale, please let’s get you something to eat my friend” ... Priceless!! The man thanked him and said; “Even my real friends wouldn’t have cared like this”. Whatabeautifulthing!! Our Life Is All We Are Because We Are. A favorite stop of mine. The food menu is surprisingly varied and not really what you would normally consider bar food. bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and home-made chips are some of my go-tos. The price for food and drink are really reasonable considering the neighborhood. Service can lag a little sometimes, but the staff is so nice that its really hard to be bothered by it. Beer selection is relatively standard, but The Blarney Stone makes up for it with knowledgeable barkeeps and a really decent selection of liquor. The noise can be a bit much sometimes, especially on game days, but during quieter times, its difficult to find a better bar in downtown.

I was on a first little get together with a friend and sat at the bar. There were 2 bartenders and neither were friendly. We sat for a few minutes watching 1 clean and then when I asked for a drink she told me shed be done in a min. Now I am a cocktail server in a bar and that is not acceptable. Customers first, then I ordered a drink and it was mostly soda! So I had to get a shot the next time around. Then I see they let dogs inside which grosses me out! We let because I was hungry and even if they had food I wouldnt order it with dogs running around and chilling inside.

Our go to spot for after work beers. Food is ok, sometimes the Reuben is on point, other times not so much. Great bartenders and good bar atmosphere. Not a good wine selection, but who would expect one? Live music sometimes. Nice little outdoor seats right on 1st to smoke or just people watch. Next door to the Showbox which always filters in a diverse crowd when there is a show.

Came in for some drinks and to watch the Hawks get their asses handed to them. Wife & I both had raspberry vodka and sprite which were well poured. Their beer cheese soup is amazing. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the server took forever to bring our check once we asked for it. Would I go back? Maybe.

The service was terrible, more than 1 hour to get my chicken wings and beer. The bathroom was a mess, lots of papers on the floor, and really bad odor. After going back to the hotel I found out that I got diarrhea, I couldnt leave the bathroom for two days, i think it was the wings because the taste was awkward..

Theyre trying here to make a fun upscale hangout for the after work crowd. Im not buying it. You think Irish pub by the name but the interior has no discernible theme whatsoever. The drinks are mediocre at best but well priced and the service is pretty good. They have karaoke on Saturday nights.

I go here frequently on Monday for pub trivia. The waitstaff is fantastic and friendly and remembers what I usually start the evening off with to drink. The food is your typical average Irish/American bar food, and the decor isnt impressive, but the drinks are strong and the trivia is great!

Great selection of fine bourbon and scotch! Well put together staff! Cant wait to see what comes of The Blarney Stone in the next five years! My favorite party was trying to put together the story and history of the historic tiles placed in the floor. Will be back very soon!!!

This spot is modeled in your stereotypical American style Irish Pub that you see all over the country. Prices are a bit higher than at places just a half mile north of south of here, but thats expected when youre right in the middle of the tourist area of Seattle.

Ive been to the Blarney Stone about a dozen time with some of the regulars. They make a hell of a drink and what can I say, they havent 86d me as of yet. Thats a big deal! Visit this little dive bar and have a good/strong cocktail and some good eats.

The bartender was on her nerves because it was St Patrick. She couldnt handle it being busy. I asked her for my card (yes, I went behind the bar but I didnt know it was a capital crime) and she started pushing me like I killed her family. No reason.

Easily one of the best hamburgers in Seattle. The menu said hand-packed and I was not disappointed. Daytime bartender was friendly. Burgers come with homemade potato chips. The burger was so good Ill back here the next chance I get.

Ate here because wanted to watch a game on a big screen, which was surprisingly hard to find in the area. The food tasted alright, beers seemed a little high in price, but the service was great and the staff friendly.
