You call this good BBQ? Ummm, I dont think so. My husband and I are from Texas, and anything, the worst Texas BBQ has this place beat! If I can give these guys a -1 star I would! We ordered the pulled pork, brisket, wings, mac n cheese, and beans. The mac n cheese was nasty. It tasted like cardboard Stouffers mac n cheese...it had a nasty after taste. The beans had too much vinegar and not the right amount of sweetness. The wings were extremely salty! They were almost inedible to eat. We felt like we ate a pound of salt just eating about 8 out of 20 wings. Ranch sauce? Okay, but how about other options? The brisket was way too salty too! Knock it off with pounds of salt you put on the food! Why so much salt? If they brine their meat, man, thats too much salt in the brine, as well as the chicken wings. Gross! The brisket was dry and wasnt juicy or a little moist at all. The brisket was supposed to be sliced, but what we got was a hunk of dry meat. You are also supposed to slice the meat against the grain, and they didnt do that, instead they sliced 1 lb hunk of meat along the grain or better yet, just ripped the meat off. The buns they gave were Publix brand but they were stale! The bread fell apart leaving my meat in my hands. I know these buns were stale because the date said so on the package. Dont get me started on the amount of BBQ sauce for the brisket. What the heck am I supposed to do with such a tiny container for 1 lb of brisket? (About 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp) The only thing that was good was the pulled pork and it was so bland, but because we ate so much nasty salt the blandness was a breath of fresh air. The two BBQ sauces were good, one was spicy and one was regular, it was a very watery BBQ sauce, but still good. To top it all off my husband had a stomachache and I had diarrhea. Awful, awful food. We had really bad heartburn and was burping up nasty junk from this food. Very disappointed. We will not be going back. We dont eat piles and piles of salt on our food. The older blonde lady who took our order was rude and uninviting too. What a waste of food, and especially money!

I lived in Murfreesboro for 12 years and have been going to Slick Pig fairly often until now. Im just fed up. The BBQ here is not good. Its never been good. Ive always gone to get the smoked wings. However, they started buying inferior wings that are about half the size of the ones they used to use. So basically you get less food for the same price. This is a trend at Slick Pig. Their big promotion is that they have 99 cent BBQ sandwiches on Tuesdays. Its a joke because its not their regular BBQ sandwich, its more of a slider with a tablespoon of their crappy BBQ. Dont be fooled. When they started serving catfish I tried it and it was honestly some of my favorite catfish ever. I just had it today and it was a shadow of what they started with. Inferior product, different breading, terrible. No consistency whatsoever, Im done with that place. TL;DR: Ever decreasing portions, constantly reducing food quality, extremely unfriendly staff, terrible BBQ, why did I ever eat here and/or keep trying?

If youre looking for a decent BBQ, keep look beyond the Slick Pig, because theres plenty of better options in the frozen food section of your local grocer. A RUDE waitstaff and poor quality food at best... First of all this place was unwelcoming and not the slightest bit worth the effort to find. The older blonde behind the counter was as friendly as a pit of pissed off vipers with hemorrhoids. She went as far as to slam a closet door into my seat as I tried to sit down. Not so much as an "excuse me" then proceeded to trash talk my fiancee and myself as we tried to finish our meal. Our order was a pulled pork sandwich on garlic toast for her and I ordered the spicy smoked turkey on garlic toast. The portions were small at best (save the fries which were large and done just right) with about 3 tablespoons of coleslaw being called a side. The turkey was NOT the slightest bit spicy and the pulled pork tasted of nothing but smoke and had a slimy feel to it.

I have always heard great things about this Slick Pig. Tonight, I decided to try it and grabbed a family pack on my way home. Ill admit I was quite excited... it made my car smell wonderful! However, once I started eating the BBQ sandwich when I got home, the bun stuck to my plate and even fell apart in my hands with every bite I took. I checked the date on the bun package and it expires in 6 days. I then realized they gave me Great Value Walmart buns. Well no wonder they fell apart. Theyre disgusting. I was thinking this place would be fantastic but I was horribly wrong. Who puts their award winning bbq on crap buns? It made the bbq taste like poo. Thats almost like ordering a filet mignon super well done and covering it in steak sauce. I also ordered the potato salad. Wayyyyy too salty!!! You can get better bbq at Martins BBQ! Even Jim and Nicks is better than Slick Pig.

Honestly the food isnt really that good anymore. 10, 15 years ago the only thing I use to get were the wings, but theyre pretty aweful now. Like , rubbery and barely warm, probably sitting out for a while. The bread I get 99 cent pull pork is usual is pretty stale, but its only a buck and anything is edible when you cover it in kroger brand BBQ sauce . I havent never heard them openly bad mouth me, but the last time I was there some old dude pointed at me and whisper something to his co-worker. Im from the Murfreesboro and this pretty typical ole Murfreesboro behavior (Long hair freaky people and queers use the side door). So Yeah the food worse than Corkys BBQ right before it closed down, but hey! its worth the fun trying to get $6.66 worth of food. You never know, I might get the good stuff by mistake during a Tuesday lunch rush.

I’ve had Slick Pig BBQ a few times before in the restaurant, but nothing compared to the amazing self-serve buffet we had on our wedding day. There are many catering options to choose from, so naturally, we chose chopped chicken, wings, pulled pork, multiple cobblers, and plenty of sides. In fact, the smoked wings were the wedding favorite, followed by the delightful potato salad. I highly recommend both of those. The proportions were perfect, and they were extremely helpful when I was trying to decide how much to get for our headcount. Additionally, they arrived on time and were very accommodating when it came to picking up their supplies the day afterward. I have nothing but positive things to say! Thank you, Slick Pig! :-)

My family had a family reunion this past weekend which we had catered from here. Family came from Memphis, Louisiana and Missouri. All kept asking where we ordered the bar b q from! They all said this was the BEST they have ever had. The ones that live in Memphis said that Memphis needs to come to slick pigs and learn how to do bar b q! All 17 pounds of the pulled pork and chopped chicken was GONE!! Nothing left! We are having the other side of the family coming in April and will use the BEST bar b q place once again! Thank you all for making our family event easier and feeding our family the BEST food! Dunlap/Chastain family
