I am so sad to write this review, because Wild Ginger is a hidden gem behind the cliche restaurants of Hilliard-Rome. I have enjoyed going there so much so that I would go there days in a row, until a certain waiter that was employed at this establishment thought it was appropriate to mock the amount of business we gave this restaurant. Little snide comments were made here from that specific waiter that were easily ignored until the last time that I had gone there quite a few months back. As we were leaving, this specific man felt the need to say "See you tomorrow" in a very arrogant fashion, not only once, but twice. The second time a little louder to make sure we heard his condescending tone after ignoring it the first time. We brushed it off as, obviously, any employee that has the entitlement to think he can treat a frequently returning customer with such rude behavior is not worth any sort of my time. Not only that, it seemed that when the owner was not present, the behavior escalated and it became uncomfortable to sit and enjoy a meal there because I felt as if I was being spoken about by the employee to the others as they would sit and watch us eat. It even crossed my mind that something would be done to my food behind closed doors. All of these reasons has lead me to not returning or giving my money to this establishment, especially tipping an employee that is less than deserving. Its extremely unfortunate because the food here is INCREDIBLE. It is beyond incredible and the owner/manager who is a sweet, older gentlemen knew us and was always so excited to see that we returned weekly. Since that incident and the ones that took place before our last visit, I would rather give my business to another establishment that can handle their employees behavior and can appreciate the amount of money I spend on sushi, which in itself is an expensive food.

I wasnt sure what to expect walking into the restaurant. Boy am I glad I did. My wife and I love sushi, and were always trying to find new places to try. It had been a long while; my wife recently gave birth to our second and she was craving sushi for her birthday. So, I looked up Wild Ginger and we took a ride. Upon entering, you can tell how clean and neat the establishment is kept. A very friendly host greeted us and promptly sat us to a booth. The restaurant was quiet after the early rush. The look and feel was very warm and inviting. Our server was very knowledgeable and made excellent suggestions for us to try. The attentive service staff made sure we were completely taken care of. A+ service. After making some choices, we went with Crispy Almond Shrimp to start. Very unique, flavorful, and well cooked. I recommend them if theyre on the specials list. We chose 3 rolls to start; Black Dragon Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and the Lonely Angel that was on special. The food arrived promptly, and was a sight. A very well decorated plate garnered our beautiful meal. All was delicious, balanced, fresh, and had deep flavors. We knew immediately we would get two more, Four Seasons and Sweetheart. Again, beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious. We chose a Reisling wine to pair with our meal, as I recommend you do too. Overall, we were amazed at the service and food. This will be a staple for date nights to come. If you love sushi, do yourself a favor and visit Wild Ginger. Youll be glad you did.

I ordered online food for pickup but when I arrived was told that their computer was down so they had not received my order. The maitre d looked horrified. As I wasnt in a hurry I wasnt upset. Mistakes and technical failures are to be expected, it is how they are overcome that matters. I just repeated my order and sat to wait on a bench by the entrance. The food was ready in a flash. I was very pleased. The interior was pretty and understated, with white table cloths and polished wood. The food itself was delicious. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The sushi menu was reasonably varied but nothing terribly unusual as far as fish selection goes. The selection of sushi rolls was truly extensive though. The nigiri sushi came one piece per order, instead of the traditional two, which was fine as the price reflected that, but the menu, at least their online menu, hadnt made this clear. The Wok Fresh Ginger Stir Fry with Shiitake Mushrooms and Red Onions was delicious and portioned very generously. I hope we can return next time we pass through the area, but this time Id like to eat in the restaurant. The ambience was as pleasant as the food was delicious.

First time going here, seemed pricey for asian food, but after I got my meal that changed my mind. The brown rice was good, but the general tsos was the best Ive had, with a nice spice to it. It was spicy but not burn your mouth spicy, like it should be. My waitress was Sue, she constantly cleaned any trash or plates from the table, and made sure my drink was full at all times. I definitely left a great tip for her she deserved every penny. Also, the manager (Im assuming) walked around and asked everyone how the food/experience was like a manager should which was nice as well. The greatest thing about it was when I left, the manager ran all the way to the get go gas station to give a soup to someone who forgot it on the table.. he litterally sprinted to give it to him which I thought showed great customer service. Id recommend this to anyone that likes amazing asian food, and great, friendly service.

If I could rate this place higher i would. I rarely write reviews on any place I go. My wife, child and I have been going here for over two years. Consistently from all of us when asking for a place for a out night the consensous is Wild Ginger. (keep in mind that includes a 5 year old child!) The service is always excellent. The older gentleman who is generally there every day is just about the best person to ask for any recomendation. Always super kind and inviting. Food is out of this world. You wont find better in Columbus for Asian dishes. When they tell you the special fish they get in... TRY IT. Its always super fresh and delicious. If you are a fan of Saki.. You HAVE to get a pairing. They have some of the best selection you can imagine, be it cold or hot. I could keep going on, but it would insult the place if you didnt just try it! Its THAT good.

This may be my favorite restaurant. I have only ordered one entree despite 10+ visits - the Mango Chicken. Its a little spicier than Id usually go for - but the chunks of mango make up for it easily. Water chestnuts and slivers of chicken cooked to perfection every time - the meal is a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I also get the Wonton soup - included with the entree - which is about average, not exceptional, but youll forget about it once you eat that mango anyway. In addition, they serve the Pineapple fried rice in a half of a pineapple - which is really cool. Wait staff is always very attentive.

This is my husband and Is favorite place for our Friday lunch date. He loves their general tsos and I love their sushi rolls. Everything we have tried has been really good. Even our picky 7 yr old decided to try something new and really liked it. Their service is great, friendly staff, very neat & clean and while they are a nicer restaurant they always make you (even kids) feel welcome. Recommend the Mochi ice cream. Yum. It is a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for, and its less if you go for their lunch specials or half price sushi from 3-6pm.
