I went to Dearborn, MI for work, and I had some knafeh and warbat. I loved the warbat, but couldnt find it anywhere near where I lived. Everyone had baklava but that was about it. Then I went to Amman, Jordan for vacation. We found the warbat at Habibah Sweets in downtown Amman, by the bank. After we returned from the Middle East, I still could not find the warbat. Then I found this place in Jersey, about 30 min from Hobokan station while driving. This place tastes just like Jordan! Ill come here again the next time we are in NYC. Ill give the service poor, since the kid who was running the joint at the time dissed us. He let the guy cut in front of our group. The customer behind us protested in Arabic, motioning to us that we were next. The kid motioned to the customer like it was no problem, "Just go ahead and order!" I dont speak Arabic, but it was blatent racism. No biggie, I got the rest of the warbat that I needed. But Ill be making a generous donation to the local Zionist chapter, despite the fact that I go to St. Martins on Sundays.

The woman, perhaps the owner, the shorter woman of the two [without Hijab], must harbor deep racist views. Last year she skipped me to care for a person with less brown skin. Today, Sunday June 2, 2017, she moved away from me to attend to a seemingly lighter skin person. I told my experience of last year to my Sudanese friends-- and one of them discussed my thoughts with this woman. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went back again. Well, given the pattern, I think this woman should look herself in the mirror and realize her unjust and prejudicial treatment of people on the grounds of skin tone or race.

If you have a severe sweet tooth and like experimenting with the sweets, this place is a must try. They have all sorts of varied variety of authentic Egyptian, Turkish and Arabic sweets. I had never in my life seen such vast variety of Baklavas. I am still trying to catch hold of the names of all the different sweets the serve. Their Baklava and Knafi are my personal favorites. This place also has its own bakery and their Macroons are to die for!! They offer macroons in many different flavors and they are just wonderful. The dine is not that great and I mostly have done a take out from this place.

BEWARE. I went there for some kunafa. The batched the platter out of the oven with old kunafa, to cheat customers. The batch they gave me was from the new out-of-the-oven platter, yet, it was a batch. A horrible rubbery tasteless batch. One my way out, I looked at the delicious looking platter, and it was batched AGAIN with some more old kunafa. That is a shame because new kunafa is 100 times better than old unsold kunafa. I am only going there one more time to tell the owner about this article. As for Baklava, theirs is OK, but the real Baklava is found at Fattal Bakery, which is close by.

Do not try the cheesecake here. I bought my son their Oreo cheesecake and the filling was old and just plain bad. Their cookies and middle eastern dessert are not bad but anything else is. Also the service here is not the best. I fest discriminated against. Im Hispanic and the lady behind the counter automatically assumed I was there with an other hispanic family, after I clarified that I was not with them she processed to rush me and 5 year old to order. Not the same treatment others got.

If you are looking for a good local ethnic bakery, this is it. Friendly and helpful staff. Each item we tried was prepared very well and didnt disappoint my taste buds. Only low spot was the coffee but one of the best bakeries in ethnic Paterson. Come with a group and share a Vasari you of choices and take home what you enjoyed. They went out of their way to explain each offering.

This place is about 1.5 hours from me, but so worth the drive. They have all kinds of authentic middle eastern desserts, and their kanafeh is one of the best I have had! Its a nice family owned business, and everyone who works there is so nice and welcoming. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Excellent selection of Mediterranean sweets at Nablus Pastry and Sweets. Palestinian sweets are their specialty, but they also have Egyptian, Syrian, and other varieties. The treats here are delicious and the staff is great!

knafeh is ok, but nothing like Nablus. cheese is cheap dough is mixed with bread crumbs. maybe another 50 years to perfect knafeh like true Nablus. please change your name.
