Overtyme has been a place I have been going to for years and years. Within the last few times I have been there the lack of help has been a bit ridiculous and the food has gone down A LOT! We were in there yesterday (9/3/13) for a friends Birthday party and there were about 20 of us. They had a new server at our table and it took about 20-30 mins just for everyones drinks to come. When the drinks finally came it took another 20 mins to get a refill. Some of us were going to the bar to get drinks. We also sat there for over an hour and a half before our food came out of the kitchen. Now mind you, we got there at 7pm on a Tuesday night.. no reason the food should take that long on a slow night. When half of us got our food the pizza was undercooked, the alfredo was cold, we were served extra salads, and some people didnt even get their food at all. It was unbelievable. The manager was called to our table after being there for over 3 hours with crappy food and service. (I dont blame this on the server, not his fault the management put a new person on a 20 top. They need better training.) The manager didnt even offer a round of drinks on the house or anything to make us feel like they were sorry for what had happened. We were told the kitchen was backed up. I will give credit that she did comp food that didnt come out or food that was not cooked. But really? Youd think after our crappy 3 hours of being there we could cash out and be on our way - wrong! We had to sit there for an extra 15-20 mins because their credit card machine wasnt working. You have got to be kidding me! Needless to say this was by far the WORST experience I have ever had here. I will not be coming back for a very very very long time. I feel that since the old staff left they have nobody that can keep up or handle any situation. Pretty sad when you have a table of 20 people and almost every single one of us were upset. Better step your game up, Overtyme. The lack of training in your staff and the lack of management sympathy was uncalled for. My company takes our clients here for lunch and from now on we will be going somewhere else.

I have been going to Overtyme for many years as it is one of the few local bars that is large enough to accompany large groups of people for different kinds of occasions. Recently a group of about 20 of us stopped in for a birthday dinner and celebration. We were accompanied by a newer waiter, and honestly had the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. It took 45 mins to get the first round of drinks, 2 hours to get appetizers and food. We were never asked in between if anything could be done for us or an apology at the very least if there were backups in the kitchen. Food was served cold, and undercooked. Which leads us to believe it had been sitting in the back for some time. Drinks were hardly ever refilled until a coworker stepped in to help. The manager was approached by several of us to complain and she stated she would do something to help us out, but nothing was ever done. It wasnt until the very end of the evening when cashing out that it was discovered that our cards were not working as it was a server error for the restaurant. It took on average about 45 mins to get our bills to begin with. Eventually some had cash and just left the bills on the table and left, others just up and left as the server still was not working for running cards. This kind of service is absolutely unacceptable. When so many system and staff problems occur in one setting the facility should try to do everything in their power to attempt to fix the problem. I feel like none of that was done. With such a large group of regulars who often attend this bar we all feel like this one event will defer all of us from attending this bar again. Very unfortunate.

My family has been going to overtyme since the day they opened. My sister was a bartender, my brother was a bouncer, and friends of mine still work there. We never miss the Easter buffet, and I even had my 21st birthday there. But lately things have gone way down hill. The food went from great to sub par, it always takes way to long, and its never done right. The staff have bad attitudes and have no idea how to earn their tips. And if like to address the dress code. We understand having to look nice to class the place up but even when we dress our best were told my husband cannot come in because his pants are too big. Hes a very large very short man and has no choice but to wear baggy jeans but I promise they are his best and always pulled up as far as he can get them. Also he has been told hes not aloud to wear a hat inside. Were not talking a beanie that looks bad. Were talking a nice fitted cap. One last thing and Im addressing this in hopes the owners of this company actually reads this since their website doesnt work on my mobile phone. I live DIRECTLY beind you. Your dumpster is right outside my bedroom window. Every night almost all night it seems, your staff takes all the empty bottles that cant be returned and the smash them in the dumpster. ITs SO LOUD. Please find a solution to this problem... FAST! This has been going on for as long as I can remember and I seriously cant take it anymore!

My server was so awesome and the food so was so delicious. I came in with my family yesterday and had been having problems with my debit card from the get go but I knew things would be OK. My family (3) ordered delicious nachos, chicken strips and some onion rings and I got a cinnamon apple martini (I never get alcoholic drinks when I go out to eat) but it was hands down the best thing ever!!! As we got ready to leave the waitress runs my debit card and was declined. I had her do it 3 times each time with a different amount charging to the card and each time was declined. My heart hit the floor and my face got so red and I didnt know what they would do because thats never happened to me. Well she basically took my ID and copied it and explained what happened and said to come back tomorrow and pay it. (The next day) my funds hit my bank account and the bank has placed a hold to verify funds are really there from senders account and so I called back today and spoke with Deb(owners daughter) and she said she completely understood and to pay it when my funds became available. So sweet, I was worried Id get charges or something because thats never happened to me. I didnt know the protocol on those situations. I highly recommend their nachos by the way !!! The chicken strips are phenomenal!!!! Hands down the best restaurant Ive eaten at.

Had a bad experience years ago thought Id give it another try before writing it off. Glad I did. Their smoked meats sign lured me in. I had the Michigan cherry pasta and could swear Chef Ramsey made it, yes, it was that good. As for the BBQ my family said its 2nd to Slows (Sorry Billy Sims). I am definitely going back and the nicest touch is the non smoking law. The place reeked last time I was there. I like the option for the kids to have a room to play in and the noise level is still kinda high but the euphoria from the food taste makes you not hear anything. Like I said, I went in not expecting much and things have vastly improved. I give restaurants 3 tries before writing them off. Glad they had that smoked meats sign, it did its job and lured us in and made us a fan. Kudos to the chef!
