Sunday’s can be rough, especially after eating and drinking all night (AKA our typical Saturday), which is one of the many reasons we love ending the week with a bang (AKA brunch). Especially when it comes in the form of free-flowing rosé, a bounty of meats grilled to order, garden-fresh vegetables, sea of sushi, and enough sugar to get you high. Enter Quinto La Huella, the urban offspring of the beachfront Parador La Huella in Uruguay and one (No. 17 in 2015) of Latin America’s Best Restaurants. Burrowed away on the fifth floor of the new-ish (open since the end of May) and still trending East, Miami, Quinto La Huella can be best described as part rustic hacienda part tropical oasis. With ample indoor and outdoor seating (overlooking Brickell City Centre and the surrounding area), central bar, wood-grill and sushi counter, every visit here beckons a uniquely distinctive dining experience. Case in point: the recently introduced Sunday brunch features none of the usual suspects found all over town. Forget eggs benedict, chicken and waffles, exotic pancakes, or some type of crazy French toast. Instead, Quinto’s buffet spread proffers typical Uruguayan parilla (think grass-fed Picanha, Tri Tip, Top Sirloin, Pork Belly, Pork Flank, Country Chicken, Salmon, Sweet breads, Sausage and Morcilla) grilled to order, as well as Blistering Corn, Provoleta, Flatbreads, and Potatoes cooked on the fly over open flame; the kind of foodstuff people in Uruguay eat on Sunday beachside with friends and family. Sure buffet style brunches in Miami aren’t exactly a novelty, but setting Quinto La Huella apart from the pack is its price point (only $45) and centerpiece parilla. Wait for your meat by the fire or be strategic and hit up the hot and cold stations where depending on the day you can stack your plate with everything from Baba Ghanoush, Gazpacho, Chickpea Salad, Quinoa Salad, Beets and Goat Cheese to Potato Salad, Roasted Carrots, and Smoked Salmon. Pro tip: venture off-the-buffet path and over to the clandestine sushi corner where fresh and vibrant nigiri (with just the right amount of rice) will have you coming back to fish for more. Take a break after round three and drink some sangria by the pitcher or rosé (you can add bottomless for an extra $20 a person) before tackling dessert. During our visit that included Cheesecake de Dulce Leche, Pavlovas de Chocolate y Banana, Carrot Cake, Alfajores, Panna Cotta, Fresh Fruits, Key Lime Tart, and Chocolate Cake to name a few. If there’s one thing we love more than Sunday brunch it’s sugar and sangria. We believe the proper term here is brunch-fecta.

Se for a este lugar não peça carne. Todos da nossa mesa que pediram se arrependeram, intragável. Deixaram no prato.

Had a 12:30 lunch reservation for 12 people, sat down at 12:45, ordered food by 1, got our appetizers and drinks promptly. Some point a bigger party of about 15 walked in and sat down near us. They order. At 2:45 we had finally received the food we ordered and the table that sat down after us was already paying their bill. Our table mainly ordered steaks and most of them werent cooked to our liking. One person in our party ordered the rib eye and instead was given the skirt steak. They said they could Bring the rib eye but by that time we were starving and the person who received the wrong plate didnt want to wait anymore. The manager offered us a free bottle of wine as compensation for the long wait and the mix up in the food. The service was pretty good. We always had full drinks, I just could not believe how long it took for our main dishes to arrive when they were arriving for other tables around us (one with a bigger party). The actual dishes were okay. The prices where a little steap for what they were.

There was very little to recommend a return to this restaurant, except the view. The tables for 2 were impossibly small. The place was half empty so i didnt see the point. The waiter was slow, inattentive. We had to ask for soft drink refills several times, he forgot to bring out the entrees (my salad was brought out with my steak because they were so far behind) the salmon was overcooked and the new York strip was tough and mediocre. And the food was cold. Getting the point? Waiting for my car, the valet service was racing the cars in and out of the multistory garage in a way that was totally disrespectful to the owners of the vehicles. I needed change for a hundred and the attendant told me he had no change....and had many thousands of dollars in 20s sitting in front of him..... All for the pleasure of paying 100 per person Miami has too many great dining experiences for anyone to waste their time or money at this establishment. Save both of yours, and dine somewhere else!

Poor experience, extreme lack of judgement from hostess and they will skip people who they know without reservations. Ambiance is good if you go on a normal traffic day but this people have no knowledge of how to handle a busy restaurant. I saw at least 2 managers and they were running all over the place with the place clearly understaffed. This usually happens when the business is family owned and you put your cousin in charge just to give them a job. First time I went bartenders were making flaming drinks and everything so I decided to bring my family a second time and it was a disaster. As most restaurants in Miami this one is also designed to cater tourist, give them a bad experience take all their money and no worries because they wont ever be back. Management advise, time to roll up the sleeves and do a better job.

Ive been there four times now and each time has been much different than the last - twice fantastic, once was OK, and the last time was simply awful. I really dont know if Ill go back. Had two Miami Spice lunches in one week, ordered the exact same thing. The first time was so amazing I came back with friends to order it again: the portions were exactly half the previous size and the steak was, well, boring. We sat at the bar, and they forgot to take our drink order! The strangest thing was that the bartender asked for our credit card as a deposit before placing the food order. After raving about Quinto, I was embarrassed. Quinto has an automatic 18% service charge that the waitstaff will certainly not tell you about - be sure not to over tip (or even double tip!) when the service is mediocre at best.

Nice place but with bad service & Food. waiters were slow at service not helping at all, not looking after details. Had to asked 3 times for drinks. Food quality vary from regular to bad. Main concern was I sat in front of the grill and watched the lines cooks touching the meat over the grill with bare hands. That speaks of a careless, negligent Executive chef, unable to enforce discipline in his realm. I ordered an snapper that tasted very bad. In fact Im not sure it was a snapper. My wife asked a steak but well, we were not sure it was the ones being improperly handle. After seeing so much I Was done. In short a fancy place with normal to regular food and poorly trained staff, supervised by a management which is not up to their tasks or purpose business goals.
