Never again. And now Im left questioning the integrity of Marriott and every property that they own. I wasnt allowed to give less than 1 star so I give the 1 star to the pool area and the kids club employee who actually took the time to explain to us what happens in storm situations. Worst experience ever. Cockroaches. In a 5 star resort. Had to ask for bedding for the pull out bed. Waited 30 min for that. Rude front desk staff and management. 90 minutes and 2 phone calls to have the dead cockroach removed from my room only to have a live one almost crawl in my hair out of a lobby couch a little later. Auto checked out by the hotel on the second day of our stay "by mistake" and didnt know until we were trying to order drinks. Upon fixing that was informed we had to check out the next day regardless of our reservation due to weather. Had we not been at the desk asking about the auto check out we wouldnt have known about the hotel closing for hurricane preparations. Charged exorbitant resort fees for "amenities" we couldnt use. Nobody made any apologies for our inconveniences nor did they seem bothered by cock roach infestation. Marriott and the hotel specifically have ignored my emails and social media requests for any type of resolution. This resort is over priced for what they offer, staffed at the front desk by rude and inconsiderate people, and is infested with cockroaches. Its not worth the money in any way shape or form. Dont be romanced by the blue cones denoting "private beach" the rest of the resort (except the pool) is atrocious.

rooms were recently remodeled, and I was very, very disappointed . First, barn sliding closet/bathroom door, is a absolute terrible idea. on two separate occasions, I went to get clothes out of rhe closet and slid the door towards the bathroom and twice hit my fiancé in the back and arm.. Who in The hell thought that was a good idea? Second, I do not like walking on all that ceramic tile near the bed, wish they wouldve kept it with carpet in that area.third, the knobs on the dresser drawers are a bad design, you have to put both hands on the knobs to be able to pull the doors open. fourth, the patio door was nearly impossible to open and shut. Fifth the pictures on the wall, and the headboard do not go with the hotel or the demographic area for this hotel. Sixth, the gym was never sterilized and cleaned for the five days I was there, and there are no water fountains to drink from, there was a water cooler but it was Old and looked disgusting. sixth, the waitresses at the riva restaurant were rude, terribly trained, non-friendly, and very non-professional waitresses. They need to do a much better job training that staff in that particular restaurant. Also, the massages are way overpriced at $ 165 +, you can hop in your car, or uber it and go get a massage anywhere else for 60 bucks down the street !!! location is great, Pools awesome, the 3030 restaurant, and outdoor bar and restaurant were nice. But will not go back again until changes are made !!!

Wrapping up a stay here. In a nutshell a hotel is a hotel and you pay based on location. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean. But there are some things that would make think twice about coming back. A big one would be that I probably wouldnt return due to the shower head. As crazy as it sounds I know if my wife and daughters were here with me they would have a hard time getting the soap out of their hair because the water pressure is so poor. I know, sounds petty, but if I have to deal with at home I dont want to deal with on vacation, especially for what I am paying for this room. Another thing is the prices. Why do resorts feel the need to whack you for everything. Starbucks, twice the price as normal. Shrimp on the dinner menu $6.00 ea, Breakfast buffet $28.00....Seriously Also, why is it that the more you pay for a hotel room the less you get for free. Wifi $12.95 a day, Water $3.95 a bottle. But I guess in the end, if people continue to pay it, they will charge it. Cell reception here is non existent. As I type this in my room on my $12.95 internet access I have one bar of 3G on my Verizon phone. And that has been pretty consistent at the convention center and the restaurants that we have gone to. And finally a tip. Uber is here, but they are not as abundant as other areas. Cars can take 10-15 minutes to get to the hotel. So just a heads up from a planning perspective.

We had a great time at this resort, but boy one staff member made this trip incredible! Grace, Assistant Director of Services was so helpful. We stayed here for 6 days 7 nights. Our family had a great time, the kids loved everything...from the pool to the beach. When we left, we were sad to go....when we arrived at home we realized we did not have our dirty laundry bag! and we had no idea where we had left it. We called the hotel right away and the first few people that picked up were not much help at the front desk, until I finally reached Brian. Brian was kind enough to connect me with Grace, who did everything she could to find our bag. Especially after I told her that my daughters very special blanky was in that bag. After 24 hours of searching and looking....Grace never gave up and she found our bag! Grace was helpful when no one else cared. Im so thankful for Brian for taking the time to take our info and share it with Grace, and for Grace for being kind and understanding...Thank you! We had over a week of brand new clothes in that bag! You are amazing Grace, and we appreciate all that you did. On a side note, my daughter was sick for one night...she had a bad sore throat....the next day someone knocked on our door and had soup and crackers for her at no charge!!! Im not even sure how they knew we had a rough night....this hotel took great care of us!!

Experience was ok, not what I would have expected from a resort. When we checked in, there were no king sized rooms left, only 2 double bed rooms even though I reserved a king. My boyfriend is 66", so a double bed was really uncomfortable to sleep in for 3 days. The gentleman at the front desk said he would put us in one of their nicest double rooms to help accommodate us, which it did have a nice view and was nicely updated. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and on Labor Day, we awoke to what sounded like a jackhammer in our room. After trying several times to call the front desk with no answer, I went down to speak with someone and they told me they were doing construction on the upper floors...really? On Labor Day of all days?! The manager deducted our resort fee which was appreciated, but the $25 resort fee covers basically nothing that a stranded hotel wouldnt included, like beach towels...so paying extra for that seems a bit strange to begin with. Best part of stay was the free bottle of wine that came to our room on our first nights stay. If I were to come to ft. Lauderdale again, I would stay somewhere else and save on some $$.
