12/31/15: Ive been to Willow Creek several times and mostly have had a positive experience even if the food is overpriced. While the food and ambiance is great, I had problems with my last reservation. I had reserved five days ahead of time for a party of 4 for Sunday brunch. The day before, I called to request a table by the window with a view of the lake and also asked if they could accommodate a wheelchair (for my mother). They said yes to both. Sunday morning as we were driving to the restaurant, I get a call indicating our reservation will be delayed 15 minutes, but theyll give us a seat by the window. I get at the restaurant and, to my surprise, they put us way in the back room of the restaurant. In spite of the room having an opening where one can see the front windows of the restaurant far, far away, it wasnt what I requested and was promised by the restaurant. In addition, to get to the bathroom required walking down 4 or 5 steps to the main dining area. Now how is my mother supposed to do that in a wheelchair? Our server was so gracious that he actually lifted the wheelchair, but on the return we had to wheel her outside again in the freezing cold so as to use the ramp back to the room we were in. The main dining area (which we requested) would have had no steps to maneuver and she would have been closer to the bathrooms. So, beware if you have someone in a wheelchair. They dont accommodate the disabled very well and I sort of felt they just shoved us the back room (which was cold). In addition, our brunch cost us $100 (without tip)...okay, were talking mostly breakfast/lunch stuff - eggs/bacon (bacon was way overcooked), french toast, sandwich, etc., and only 1 alcoholic drink. Way overpriced for what we got. This experience just left a bad taste in my mouth and if I want to dine again in Evergreen, Ill be looking for alternatives. Earlier review: This is everything the romantic, nature-oriented restaurant of my dreams would be! Its decor is warm and woodsy with a lot of natural light that comes through the panned glass windows. You have a view of the lake in Evergreen and of the lovely foothills as well. There is a fireplace in the restaurant that I am sure would be so cozy in the colder months. The food was very fresh and prepared impeccably, and mostly reasonably priced. The only appetizer I though was a bit over priced was the cheese plate. Although they brought the wrong meal out to my partner, they had the correct meal out in about 5 minutes and also gave us a $5 credit on our bill (which my partner gave back in tips :-). The sausage and rigatoni entree my partner had was to die for - the very rich, tomato sauce was so satisfying to the palate, I vowed to come back and have that with a good Cab when it gets chillier out. The owner came by and chatted with us a little bit...she was very friendly and welcoming. Well be back for sure - summer, fall, winter and spring!

Food was alright, service was horrible, treatment was worse. Went here for a special event was seated and waited 50 minutes before receiving any service. Asked staff for assistance and everyone said the we were not their table. Drinks arrived one hour after arrival. Soon after we had multiple employees trying to rush us out because they needed to table for other customers and they thought we were taking too long. Explained that we hadnt even been able to place our food order yet. Hour and a half there they finally take our food order. Hostess asks us to move to another table so they can use ours for a bigger party. Two hours there food still hasnt arrived, new hostess asking us if we are going to leave soon because they need the table. Explained we are still waiting on our food. Food finally arrives and soon after we are eating it the hostess comes and harasses us again to hurry up because they need the table. 5 minutes later there is about 5 open tables and no wait. Not sure what the rush was. Literally the worst service ever and was treated poorly because of their own mistakes. Ruined the special occasion for everyone at the table. Stay away from this place they are operated by a bunch of clowns.

I was very disappointed during my second visit to the Aspen Grill. Everything started off well. The salads were very good as was the Clam Chowder. As the main courses arrived however things went down hill. The presentations were very poor. Everything looked like it was slopped on the plate. My wifes roast pork had very good flavor but was covered by a thick gravy (on the menu, it was a pork veloute). It was anything but velvet. I ordered my filet medium rare. It came out medium-well. I sent it back, and of course it came back very rare. The next time it was served, it was cooked properly. However, by this time, everyone at the table was finished. They did not replace the sauteed mushrooms and potatoes au gratin, so they were cold. They did remove my meal from the bill, but by this time the experience was very negative. I spoke to the manager, who insisted they had never had a complaint. But when I asked if the head chef was in that night (the night before Thanksgiving) I was told he had quit several days before. I will not dine here again.

We enjoyed brunch at Willow Creek this past weekend. We didnt know what we were in for! We looked up a good place on our phone and by the reviews it just seemed like a nice little place on the lake. While those reviews were not wrong it is a nice darling place on the lake, it was more then we expected. We dont normally spend 100 on a meal for just the two of us... but before you think thats too much listen! We just kept ordering because everything was so good! Everything really is reasonably priced :-) We started out with the sangria and my hubby was hooked! We enjoyed them so much we had to take a nice walk around the lake before we got back on the road again ;-) Everything else lived up to our expectations as well. We had an appetizers, entrees and desserts on top of our drinks! (So see really not bad for the price) We will be going back here for sure. Cant wait to go on a little warmer day and get to enjoy the beautiful patio dinning they had available.

Its been a while since we have done dinner here... a bit bummed after our last visit. Still good. Maybe the bar has been raised in Colorado. Maybe it was just an odd night. For the price I expected more attention to the little things. dishes were just either side of done, just a bit under or just a bit over. Desert was the perfect example. Past review "Ok GO HERE. No really, its consistently wonderful. Family owned and run. The food is very good. Wine selection is great as well. The staff is wonderful and the location cant be beat. Very romantic follow up to an evening skating on nearby evergreen lake." The staff is still great... The food good but for the cost not up to par. Drinks were just average. The wine selection is still solid. Still recommend the restaurant. But... If your driving up from Denver there a more than a number of options youd be better off at in the metro area...
