Im starting to get the feeling that if a restaurant needs to promote itself via Groupon, theres something "off" about it. In this case, the service was horrible and the food was "meh". The service: We showed up at about 6:45 last night to a completely empty restaurant, and the waiter seemed upset that we were there. We requested a patio seat, which also seemed to bother the waiter since hed already closed up the umbrellas and stacked the chairs. He told us to sit wherever - and it was left up to us to unstack chairs and open our own umbrella. I ordered a margarita, which was small but pretty decent, and my husband just stuck with water. We were never offered refills during our entire stay. At around 7:15, the waiter finally returned to tell us that they were closing at 7:30. He was clearly implying that we better hurry up and leave. Its one thing to say, "Hey folks, our kitchen will be closing soon, so if youd like to try anything else out, let me know soon." His message was, "Were closing at 7:30, so you cant get anything else." The food: We ordered tapas, and were first informed that about half of the things on the menu werent available. We got a tapas sampler with four different selections on small pieces of toast. All of the vegetables clearly came from jars, and the shrimp seemed like the kind you get frozen at King Soopers with the tail still on. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips were clearly Tostitos out of the bag. Gross. We also tried the taquitos - which were just some corn tortillas with shredded pork inside. The pork wasnt flavored at all. I feel like this is the type of food that might be okay if you were stopping by a relatives graduation party... not a restaurant. The owner stopped in while we were finishing our meal and asked us about our experience. I was very honest about how disappointed we were, and he did nothing to try to make our experience better. He just said, "google us, people love us," then went inside and awkwardly chastised his staff while we were still there. We wont be going back. As another reviewer has stated: this is some great real estate, right next to Bancroft park, and its wasted on a terrible restaurant. Every other dining experience weve had in Colorado Springs has been great, so theres no reason to ever return to Cucuru.

I rarely give bad reviews, but this might have been the worst dining service I can remember in the past 20 years. We came here because the bbq place next door had a long wait, and we really didnt want to wait it out there. Boy was that a huge mistake! Some friends were graciously treating us to dinner, so we suggested this place since it was so close and we had a decent experience here several months ago on the patio. After ordering, we waited for over 30 minutes and the waiter finally came out with two of the four meals. He told us the kitchen was having some issues, and said it might be a bit until the other dishes came out. My wife and I felt we should wait to eat until the other meals were served, and if you can believe it, it was another at least 20 to 30 minutes until the 3rd dish came out, tho they did bring out some more chips and salsa. Now three of us were waiting for the fourth dish. They came back out at least 10 minutes later with a small appetizer for the 4th person to eat while they waited, and about 10 minutes later the fourth dish finally arrived. You can imagine the first three meals were stone cold, and we were not willing to try and risk what might happen if we sent them back to be re-heated. Other tables seemed to be struggling to get served too - it was not the servers, it was definitely the kitchen. Were not complainer types, and I was curious what they might do to make things right. They offered 10% off the meal. Needless to say, we will never be back, nor will our friends. Ouch!

Extremely Disappointing! Cubano- Dry and flavorless (no ham, and no melty cheese), served with Tostito chips (seriously). Forget plantain chips and "Mojo" sauce. (they gave me a side of olive oil). RUDE service, OVERPRICED crap called food. the waitress kept asking my 8 year old son if he wanted to try and add things, his bill was $21.00 and I had no idea. NOT HAPPY and clearly her sneaky tactics of jacking up my bill...well that is where you can find your tip missy!!! $65.00 Lunch for 2 adults and 2 children w/ no alcohol (WHOA$$$) ...addition) Just spoke with the owner, who was very defensive over his wait staff (and icky food) but apologetic. He offered to buy my husband and I dinner, but no thanks! Hey Guiermo, try "Lucy Im home" food truck and take a few tips!!! You want a good cubano...NOT HERE!!!!!

It was my first time at Cucuru a few weeks ago, I brought my boyfriend along with me and we had a fun time. Our food took a little too long to come out but Ive been to places where it can take forever! And also it was a good wait because the Pesto Panini and Cuban where Amazing. Also there was live music, didnt catch the name of the band but Im sure coming again just to try that Panini. My server was also really nice but I can tell that he was kind of stressed out, I think they should hire another server because it was only him waiting over twenty people.

My first time at Cucuru and I really liked the exterior of the place. Its like a house and warm feeling. Now the food, LOVE the flavor of the food I got the Turf....but the portion for a man is too small. I enjoyed it but my husband was still hungry I guess Taco Bell it is after. I ordered a flan with tequila and once again was not disappointed by the flavor...Tequila was tasteful on it. Overall: If you looking for something flavorful with light portion this is the place. I personnel will come again on a ladies night; not with the hubby.

Waitress was very sweet. We had patatas bravas, top sirloin corstinis and two carnitas/avocado tacos. Everything was good. I had to get extra chimichurri because it is delicious. I also enjoyed the patatas bravas, very authentic. The sangria is fantastic. I love that you actually get hints of the liqueur without it being overly sweet. I do not get why so many reviews are saying its overpriced. The prices are very fair. We had 3 plates, 2 beers and 2 sangria for $40. We left full. Thats a great deal in my eyes!

Dang Guillermo, I knew things were gonna go downhill when i left, but it looks worse than i thought. You never appreciated everything I did for you while having to put up with your abuse. I knew no one could ever be as dedicated as me in that kind of environment; I would have stayed though. I still enjoyed work despite you. Looks like you did indeed make a mistake firing me. Best regards, Alex. P.S Id still come back and get things back to a positive cucurus

Despite the weather presented during my visit, I VERY much enjoyed my time at Cucuru. Though the home-restaurant-gallery system was new to me, the extremely friendly staff walked my family through the proses gracefully. The server was very quick, considering the sit-down style. The food was uniquely cooked, which offered many tastes I had never experienced prior hand. I hope others will enjoy Cucuru Gallery Cafe as much as I did.
