Lisa and I live in Louisville, and a lot of Italian choices exist, there. It was my staff, who took me to Scalzotto for lunch, recently, and we all raved. Tonight, Lisa and I had dinner at the restaurant, and, in our estimation, it was wonderful. We started with a simple house salad, made first-rate with the addition of a very particular extra Virgin olive oil, Altomena, of which, only 1,000 barrels per year are produced. Give it a 10! We shared a minestrone soup, but we dont know anything more than it was outstanding. You will have to ask for it, since we dont see it on the menu). Another 10 for our taste buds. Fagottini alle Pere con Prosciutto e Marscapone, for our entree, came highly recommended, through our grape vine. We give it a to-die-for 10 (so, you go, you order, you eat, then you will know what it is, and just how good it is!). The Cannoli we shared may have been the best I ever tasted, so, yes, another 10! And, I would say neither of us claims any particular gourmet-type palette, but, we were, honestly, this impressed with what we experienced at Scalzotto. We think you will be, too! Oh, yes, Jeremy, our waiter, was very knowledgeable, and helpful, answering our questions, and making our dining experience, there, a lot of fun. Tom and Lisa Louisville, Colorado

If I could give a 10 star, I would have happily and eagerly done so. The food was phenomenal or even better than that, if it is possible. There were 4 of us and we each loved and adored all that we ordered. The owner was warm and welcoming and extremely friendly and inviting and explained each food for us in details, along with authentic culture and wonderful exotic stories. Ingredients are simple and no exotic anything that you see nowadays, but they do magic with those fresh and homemade items....Just Pure Unbelievable Magic!!! I have never gone somewhere that everyone in my group equally loves every morsel of food in our plates, but this one, won us ALL over!!! Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Cappuccino, and a piece of heaven under the cream and powder chocolate disguised as Tiramisu....(((sigh)))....I could live there!!! I am happy to say, we found our new kitchen. I am planning on taking home food for the lazy dinners, as much as possible. Along with stopping by to have a slice of Tiramisu and dragging friends and family for as many delicious dishes as possible. Lovely!! Just Deliciously Lovely!!!

I almost hate giving a 5 star review since I know it might make the restaurant busier....but they EARNED it. The food was excellent. We walked in, having never been in before, without a reservation on Friday at 6pm. We were seated immediately. The service was great! This is not IHOP where they want you in an out quickly. They give you several minutes between visits to your table. This is an experience and a time to be with your family. Not a place to get in and get out. Our waiter was a very nice, and very busy man that provided excellent service. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo since I assumed they could not mess it up. I was expecting good food....but I got AMAZING. It was "close your eyes and savor" good. We will definitely be going back. I am pretty picky about food and this was a 9 out of 10 with a fair price tag. Excellent!

My review is based on customer service. The food looked delicious, but we did not get to that point. We went here after a movie and the place looked like it was really cool and smelled delightful! When we walked inside the guy asked, "do you have a reservation?" I replied, "no". For the record, the restaurant does not require a reservation. He then told me they were booked and turned us away saying only the bar was open. I wasnt able to sit at the bar with my two young children. So what makes me scratch my head is that there were at least 4 different 4-tops available, with a few other 4 tops with people who had already had their food served. I have NEVER been turned away like that. Horrible customer service and ethical practices. They do not deserve to own / run a business

My son (who loves loves loves Italian food) and I went here. He and I had a night out together and he wanted to get some Italian food and I wanted to try somewhere new. I found this place (among a few others) but chose here because of the reviews. The reviews were very good and gave especially high marks for the lasagna. My son and I both had the lasagna and were not disappointed. I was going to take a picture to post it but by the time I remembered, my meal was basically gone. My son decided that it would be nice to take home some of his for his two younger brothers but by the time he thought of it, there were only scraps left. I recommend (at least the lasagna) from this place but beware, if you plan to take a picture or bring some home, plan ahead!!!

We made a reservation for this place, drove 45 minutes from Centennial to try it. We arrive and they tell us they cant serve us as they are full (there were only 4 tables seated, the rest of the place was empty). I tell them we have a reservation and show him the email. I had made a reservation request on their website. A few hours later, I received an email response of "Ok thanks". To me and any reasonable person, that means we have a reservation. But no, they refuse to seat us and tell us we would have received a phone call if we had a reservation. Did their email response say that? Of course not. Horrible way to treat a customer and run a business. We wont bother to try to come again.

Our family goes there all the time. I love the authentic fresh food. I am never disappointed. I gave them a five star because each time I go I enjoy it, but on this last visit they were under staffed and the waiter was doing his very best to take care of everyone. They always had enough staff I think that it was just an off "staff" day( no show, call in sick). I hope others recognize that it wasnt the restaurants fault or waiter. Sometimes things are beyond our control.

I cant believe I forgot to review! Delizioso! Authentic! Rich flavors. No ridiculous Olive Garden rubbish. Reminds me of my backpacking in Italy! Not to mention lovely family owners. We happened to be there during a birthday of an owner family member and they shared an amazing Italian cream cake & conversation and warmth with us! (Not on the menu) - Lots of love, care, and family in this place. Must try!

The service was poor and not a kid friendly place. There was 6 tables open and the waitress asked do you have reservations? This was on a Wednesday 5pm. I was treated with little attention and let know how busy the waitress was( from her telling us) I didnt like the meatballs and felt salad is overpriced. 1/2 mile away from our home and if you have children Not the place to go

We made a reservation 4 hours before over the phone, and it was confirmed. Got there and it was 10 minutes before we were greeted, when we were finally talked to, they said they couldnt seat us for another 20-30 minutes at a table for two. There were open tables. It was a pleasant evening and they wouldnt utilize the porch. Had three servers working the WHOLE place.
