We decided to have our twin girls 5th birthday party at Amphora in Herndon this past weekend. We decided we wanted to do something "just a little different" than the usual kids party, and boy was this a great choice! Everything was top notch - all the kids (especially the birthday girls) had a wonderful time decorating cookies and cupcakes during the party! Even though we had a total of 16 guests - I never once felt stressed out at the party as the hostess. The staff was wonderful and super attentive not only to the kids but to me (the mom) as well, a huge bonus. The food they served was outstanding (we opted for pizza and a fruit tray) and as always, the birthday cakes were absolutely dellicious! Hands down this was the best kids party weve ever hosted for any of our children, I would highly recommend the birthday parties at Amphora for any special young lady!

I ordered two cakes from them. The cakes tasted amazing, however, when I showed up to pick up one of my specialty cakes..they didnt have a box for it. I was told they didnt carry boxes that size for my size cake. Uhm..how were they expecting me to carry it out. The manager came and made a box which was completely open and was taped up. I called the manager at the Herndon location and was told thats how they do it. I was a little surprised. Youd think about spending a good amount of money as a customer, they would try their hardest to make it up to the customer. However, the cakes were delicious and everyone loved them. Just specify you must have it properly packed.

Have been a previous customer. Great cheesecakes but very expensive. Paid $55. for a 10" strawberry cheesecake. Planned to impress my christmas dinner guests. The strawberries were very sour. No one could eat them. I called the Amphora owner to complain and told her that the cheesecake was inedible and I would like a refund and would bring the cake back. She said she couldnt/wouldnt refund the money but would give me a gift certificate. Returned the cake and was offered a $10 gift certificate. If you dont mind doing business with someone who wont stand behind their products, this is the place for you. Didnt take the insulting gift certificate.

For Archs birthday, I wanted him to have the best carrot cake. And rumour had it that Amphora would deliver. It did. The carrot cake was fabulous. They are generous with the delicious cream cheese frosting/filling. Their marzipan carrots embellishing the cake were both beautiful and delicious. Amphora is a top bakery, and I will visit every opportunity!

I just recently purchased a holiday cake from Amphora Bakery for a Christmas Cocktail party that I attended. The cake was a huge hit! It came decorated like a wrapped present with a big red bow on the top. Everyone at the party loved it and it tasted terrific! Thanks Amphora Bakery!

The cakes and pastries at this bakery are to die for! Even though its a little off the beaten track, do yourself a favor and go to the extra trouble. A custom cake ordered for my husbands birthday was both delicious and beautiful. The bakers are artists of their craft!

Great variety of desserts. Just about anything that you would want, they have . Tried a lemon tart, chocolate cupcake and a black and white cookie, all were great. Cakes are beautifully decorated, those will be on the list to try next.

Amphora did our wedding cake and it was awesome. Exactly what my wife wanted. We had a beach theme. It was actually about $150 dollars less than we thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend.
