On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I craved the classic "Sòs pwa blan" with rice and lambi. I called several Haitian restaurants hoping to find the dish, which would reach my expectations. I called up Brasserie Creole and they said the "Sòs pwa" would be ready in 30 mins. I waited the initial 30 mins and gave them an additional 20 mins and headed there to satisfy my craving. Unfortunately, I had to wait an extra 20 mins and the staff seemed uninterested in guest satisfaction. The cashier was eating at the register, while preparing food. My "Sòs pwa" was so watery, it had the consistency of soymilk. The lambi was edible, and was mild in flavor but decent, the macaroni was tasty. I only ate the lambi with the macaroni which hardly sufficed my hunger after paying $15. Im very disappointed, and I really wish the Haitian community would stop supporting restaurants with negative feedback and low customer satisfaction such as Brasserie Creole. New management is really needed here, the picture is below. Keep your expectations low for the restaurant and dont order "Sòs pwa blan".

The food is amazing. If youre looking to eat good a Haitian meal, thats the place to go. Presentation and ambiance wise its getting better SLOWLY. Theres definitely room for improvement. We have a great quality and number of appetizers we can serve: Akra, marinad, patat Fri, to name a few. They dont even give you bread. Cutlery and dishes can be improved as well. Finally, and this IRKS me everytime I go there (I keep going cuz the food is good duhh.) There are so many more salad dressings you can give, and different salad options as well. Annnndddd the dessert menu is non-existent . The food truly is the main reason I go, so you wont regret going, But they need improvement.

This place, now called by a stupid name "Brass Riz," is a shell of its former self. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I have eaten there about a dozen times since it reopened in the hope that the food would get better, but I was disappointed each and every time. The owners (Paul, William et al.) have been in the restaurant business for close to 30 years now, and one would think that theyd know what good food is all about. Unfortunately those morons havent really learned much about the business, and because of that theyll end leasing the place again or altogether go out of business. Shame on you guys! Once upon a time you really had a nice place.

It is a pity that one has to read those bad comments from customers-mostly Haitians- that have only one goal: to denigrate a legitimate business. It was my first time being there and I liked it very much. The waitresses - contrary to assumptions - were very professional. The food is typically Haitian. Instead of enjoying it, those bad comments prove that the commentators have no sense of decency and appreciation. One bad note, though. In my opinion: the music was too loud. One could barely hear the person next to him or her.

I could not wait for them to reopen only to be greatly disappointed. Although for the most part the food is good the staff serving at the buffet, to the exception of one gentleman, have no sense of what it means to give basic customer service. No respect for people time making you feel unwelcome. I would have love to recommend the restaurant to my foreign friends so they could experience the Haitian cuisine but I am sad to say that we forgot everything about hospitality. What a shame.

This place is horrible I was so disappointed. Went there this past Sunday 1/29/2017. A party of 11 people we were seated and each handed a menu after 20 mins of waiting and trying to figure out what we wanted the waitress came. There was no...... 1-tassot 2-legumes 3- chicken 4-fish 5-turkey 6-no black rice 7-Cola coroone 8- no bread on the table (toaster is broken

Wait is too freaking long. Heard the food was good but never got a chance to taste it! Because instead of having people go in to the place to order food, you have to order through the phone and pick up the food outside! Really????! Or you could just pay $10 to just order your food and leave. I guess Haitians dont know hospitality and good customer service

Great Haitian restaurants are hard to come by. Usually youll have a place that has great service but the food is meh or youll have HORRIBLE service but great food. Brasserie had a combination of great food and great service with great art around the establishment. Id recommend giving it a try if youre looking for some good Haitian cuisine.

The food, the people, the service, the live band, and the ENTIRE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS SECOND TO NONE! Im a world traveler and I would recommend this restaurant to ANYONE! The only negative thing is the PARKING- its limited and kind of hit or miss- but thats NYC FOR YOU!

Both times Ive been to N.Y. I went to this place and neither times did they have what I wanted. They told me that it was a wait on the item so I asked how long and they said that they would get back to me and no one ever did. I waited for about 30min before I left.
