This place is one of just a handful of places in Ann Arbor where you can find really quality Espresso. If youre used to european style espresso and generally frustrated with the American style of too much water and milk, youll be right at home here. The barista and founder, Sandy, has been involved in the Coffee scene around Ann Arbor for quite a while, being one of the staff of Comet Coffee when it started. There arent many better baristas out there, and this is clear in the quality of the coffee here. Beans are generally from interesting, high end roasters, often Michigan companies. The location is interesting, being across from the farmers market in the colorful braun ct. Plenty of seating and a good atmosphere.

If you like delicious espresso drinks, its safe to say you will probably like Espresso Bar, located on the second floor of Literati Bookstore. Cappuccino = delicious Affogato = delicious Chai = excellent Pastries = all delicious Staff = highly competent and friendly Location = great One of my two favorite coffee shops in town. "What if I told you there is no key? What if when the bathroom door is locked, it is simply occupied?"

Super cute hipster coffee shop with delicious coffee. I tried the hot chocolate and the vanilla latte and they were great. Theres also an adorable little childrens book shop inside. The shop also looked like a nice place to do some schoolwork--I saw a few students working there. The coffee shop is also just above a cute bookstore; its seems like the two shops have a symbiotic relationship.

Were fortunate enough to have several great coffee bars in Ann Arbor, but this one is my favorite. The baristas are some of the most friendly folk Ive had the pleasure of being served espresso by. The (Espresso) Bar has a laid back vibe with good music, interesting people, and some of the best coffee drinks around. If you live here or if youre just traveling through make a point to stop in.

Relatively expansive - 4$ for a small latte is on the higher end for this area. We took a carrot cake which, at 5$, is also relatively pricey. The atmosphere is very pleasant. If you come with kids - they can enjoy the kids books area right on the same floor.

This place is really cool. Awesome books, good insights and reviews for literature all over the place, and a really friendly staff. It was really easy for me to get the contact information for the person I would contact to book clients there. Great.

People passionate about their products. Great coffee drinks and excellent service. They used to have very little seating, but now there are more tables. Might even be too crowded, now! Nice atmosphere above the book store.

Great coffee place with a great environment and the best of all a nice library store for your best reading choices. The americano coffee was delicious, strong and aromatic ....the vanilla latte was perfectly prepare.

very cute, very clean, good cappuccino. Nice staff. Bookstore was excellent; laid out in a strikingly approachable manner, perhaps biased as I found new work by one of my favorite post-modern authors.

Sandy made me an espresso that turned me into a coffee person, but despite the outstanding quality, this is not a snobby shop. I wish the Espresso Bar would open a franchise in my city, Seattle.

For a bit above Starbucks pricing youre getting quality coffee. Starbucks latte is around $3.50 and here its $4 (post-tax). Well worth it.

Well executed drinks with quality ingredients. No fluff. No drinks with a bunch of syrup. Lots of seating for study or discussion.
